Comments: My nephew, Michael Sweezy lost everything. He was renting a house. His furniture and clothes are ruined. His girlfriend also lost her home. They were out eating diner when it happened so they are okay. Gabby found her two kitties. I am just devastated for them. Michael had major back surgery the first Tuesday in December and still is in pain. Also, he is having ashtma severly due to stress. He is the nephew who lived with me for 2 years before. However, he can not do stairs and he is allergic to my kitty. Please be in prayer for them both. I can not imagine having no place to call home and losing everying.
Comments: Evidently, the tornado went over us but didn't touch down until about 1/2 a mile or so away. We never lost power, just a couple of flickers. The sirens went off and our cell phones started screaming, so I guess we've got a warning system. Of course, we were watching TV and saw where it was headed. We really didn't get scared until we saw how close it had come. Our friends and family are accounted for, but some of their friends in Rowlett weren't so lucky.
Comments: Sending our prayers and love to all those families affected by the tornado in the Dallas area last night. A lot of damage seen. God Bless. Tanya and Gary Leverett
Comments: I hope all SOC people and their friends, loved ones and pets made it through last night's terrible storms without problems.
Comments: Merry CHRISTmas and a healthy, happy and safe 2016. Love you all!!!!!!!
Comments: Merry Christmas, Everyone! ![]()
Comments: Just wanted to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a safe and Prosperous New Year.
Comments: I bought 2 chairs that I still use in my living and my chaise lounge chair in my bedroom from Spiegel. I got my lace curtains from Spiegel also that I use at our Annual SOC Christmas luncheon to cover up stuff in the garage.
Comments: Sharon, I loved Spiegel, too. Chicago 60609. I'll never forget that zip code. I bought a beautiful purple suit from them and wore it for years.
Comments: Hey, I checked and Spiegel's is still in business and is owned by women. No wonder I liked it's merchandise. I think I'll get back on the catalog list!
Comments: Lynell: OMG. I ordered things from the Spiegel's catalog for several years back in the 80's and still have most of them! I have no idea if it is still in business. I miss the Penney's catalog because I hate to go to the mall.
Comments: This will only work on a real computer (not a tablet) and if you can get this to work prepare to spend some time here! http://wishbookweb.com
Comments: Dear Peaches, I just wanted to tell you that Hughie and I had a great time at the luncheon last Sunday. The food was delicious and the fellowship was wonderful. We made it home safely. We have had a busy week and somewhere along the way Hughie caught a head cold and has been miserable since Thursday. He is going to the doctor in the morning! We want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year Hughie and Donna Gwin Libhart
Comments: Another event that neither of us will be able to make this year due to medical issues for both of us. Wishing all of the SOCITES a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Comments: We have 63 rsvp for our SOC Annual Christmas party at my house this Sunday. Lots of good food, laughter, huging and good time together. We have been having these since 2003.
Comments: Also late, sorry I missed 70th. I registered and had a room at Omni. Weather was so bad , Houston to Dallas didn't seem like a good plan. Nice job on photos
Comments: My hope is that all SOCites had a safe and pleasant holiday, whether cooking for a crowd, standing line at Lubys, or having a peanut butter sandwich at home. We have so much to be thankful for, including our friends from SOC. Be safe, everyone.
Comments: Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! ![]()
Comments: A little late but still wanted to thank everyone for another wonderful event at our 70th birthday party. Was so good to see everyone that came and missed those that couldn't make it....now looking forward to our Christmas event at Peaches' house...always a good time!!

Comments: Thanks, Peaches. Your CD is ready to return, but I totally forgot. I'll keep it safe and will get it to you.
Comments: Thanks, Lynell for posting our pictures.
Comments: Just looked at the pictures and now I'm really sorry that I couldn't be at the party. There were several people that I haven't seen in a long time and would liked to have visited with. Looks like everyone had a great time.
Comments: P.S. Peaches, the first CD was not in today's mail either. I wonder where it went.
Comments: With gratitude to Lonnie Harmon for taking and wrangling the pictures, and to Peaches for dropping the CD at our house today. His photos are now up on the Images page. Just click the button. Thanks, you two!
Comments: Peaches, still no CD in the mail. However, did receive a couple of things that will require hours with various CS departments. Lucky me. Maybe maƱana.
Comments: Lonnie sent two copies of to me. I mailed Monday. I checked the address twice and even put more postage than required. It was in a padded envelope. It has not been returned to me either. Lynell, I will call and see if I can drop my copy by your house.
Comments: Piney express would have them there too now. |
