Comments: Well, in my case it could have been.......??????
Comments: Oh, Ken. You know me better than that. If it had been beer, I would have said so. I'm just glad that TAB made a comeback. It was getting really hard to find. My bruises are healing nicely and I'm wearing slacks so no one can see my knees and freak!
Comments: Key words...."six-packs"
Comments: Oh Sharon! Ouch!! I hope you are better by now. I have a HUGE bruise on my thigh and have no idea how It got there. Talk about worry... Sheesh.
Comments: Yesterday, I tripped and fell. Fortunately, I fell in my house and the damage is not too bad. It could have been a lot worse. One badly bruised big toe, bruises on the palm and wrist of one hand, slight scrape on left elbow, but two badly bruised knees, and sore muscles everywhere. And, it was my fault. I had brought groceries in from the car and I put two six-packs of Tab on the floor in front of the pantry door (which I have never done before) so I could bring the remaining sacks in. Well, forgot they were there and while glancing at the mail, I simply tripped right over them. I'm starting to worry about myself.
Comments: Sharon, Some months are when everything breaks at once. This month seems to be the month when a lot of old friends either became very sick or passed away. It is so hard to "lose old friends" as the song goes.
Comments: I was wondering the same thing! Last month I had to replace the transmission in my truck. Over the weekend had to replace my washer and dryer. I'm not looking forward to next month.
Comments: Gosh; where is everyone? ![]()
Comments: I think I've decided not to get on a plane any time soon.
Comments: Who nose ? Is right... Ahem! AND, you are right Lynell ."those shots were awful for little people,,,as in 6 year olds. Sharon,......so sad James Garner is gone,,,sigh..he was such a handsome, great actor..l.l. 86 years old,,,,um....getting closer...sigh!
Comments: Yes, Charlotte, you are correct about the Afrin narrowing the veins. Nell told me this morning that she had another, but minor, nosebleed on Friday evening, and that the Afrin stopped it. She is going to go to an ENT doctor as quickly as she can get an appointment. Don't know what I was watching over the weekend, but didn't know about James Garner until this morning. We always watched Maverick and Rockford Files, and I loved his movies too.
Comments: Charlotte, re your question : "Do you think it is because the Afrin shrinks the gains ( or veins) in the nose? " Who nose !!
Comments: Nice to hear from you, Ken. You mercifully omitted the part about every visit to Chester Clinic requiring a shot with a needle four inches long and the diameter of a pencil.
Comments: For those who didn't take Latin...pedictian is the Latin word for pediatrician.
Comments: Here are some Chester Clinic memories: As a kid, my dentist was there...Dr Hamby. My daughter was born at Chester Clinic. Her pedictician was there...Dr Ben Moore. I once saw Mickey Mantle walking down a hall at Chester Clinic...in a hospital gown! I met my idol there...Dr Proctor...he correctly diagnosed the cause of my severe bed wetting problem as the MPMC Syndrome (Miss Paschal Math Class). Many Lancaster Road Scholars were healed at Chester Clinic.
Comments: Yikes, Sharon!! That's scary. I was once in a deposition, and an "old" lawyer had a serious nosebleed. He was not aware that he was bleeding profusely. I thought the witness and other lawyer were going to faint. I made him stop asking questions and gave him a wad of Kleenex to press hard on his lip. Made him lie down and put ice on it, then drove him to his car. He was probably the age we are now, and I will never figure out how I got to be the paramedic. Phil your story is hilarious. Reminds me of the time I brushed my teeth with Ajax in hopes of that Farrah Fawcett look! It didn't work.
Comments: That's veins in the nose....sorry
Comments: Do you think it is because the Afrin shrinks the gains in the nose?
Comments: Had a real scary thing happen at work. My coworker, without any warning, got a nosebleed. And I mean a nosebleed. We're not talking a drop or two but a river. I was grabbing Kleenex, then paper towels and nothing was slowing it down. I realized we weren't going to stop it, so I called 911. Within a couple of minutes, a policeman was there and about another minute or so, the EMT's were there. They worked on her a good 15 minutes and didn't get it stopped. So she got to ride in the ambulance to the emergency room. They got it stopped by using Afrin nasal spray. Remember that! I've worked with her for 18 years and never has she had anything like that happen. However, she has been under an awful lot of stress for some time. I have to say that the EMT's were great, very calm. One of them even cleaned up the mess. I'm sure they were concerned because of all the blood. We're still cleaning up some blood today. Anyway, we might add Afrin to our emergency medicine kits.
Comments: Oh Phil...I am still laughing!!!!!!!
Comments: I called Chester Clinic one night when I gargled with PineSOL. My plan was to 'make out' and thought it was mouth wash. I called them and they asked if I threw up..I said yes and the man on the other end laughed and said I would be OK!
Comments: My only memory of Chester Clinic is being there for some shot. I don't know how old I was .....I fainted dead away after that shot and hit the Doc Procter's desk.
Comments: I went to Chester Clinic, many times, even after graduation. Rhonda Young Spann's family and mine were next-door neighbors, right down the street from it. Rhonda's mother was a nurse, and I believe she even worked there for awhile.
Comments: Did all of us go to Chester Clinic? I don't seem to remember another medical center in O.C. Peaches, glad that you were able to visit your mom. Hope all is well with you guys.
Comments: WOW, Sharon....memories from waaaay back. Chester Clinic!!!!
Comments: Noticed an obit yesterday for a Dr. Chester (older female and attractive picture) and sure enough it turns out she worked with her brother John who owned the Chester Clinic in Oak Cliff. Heard from Peaches a few minutes ago and she is already back to work and through the kindness of several classmates was able to go visit her mother several times last week. Yea!
Comments: Remember Billy Carter, brother of Jimmy Carter? Of all the wedding venues in the world, he picked the Arboretum for his wedding. I remember being caught in a nightmare traffic jam on that happy occasion.
Comments: It's even worse around Love Field when the President comes to town. I was working near Inwood and Lovers Lane when George W. Bush came to town, and my 30 minute trip home to North Oak Cliff took 2 hours! And, for security purposes, they rarely publicize the President's exact route much in advance, so everyone was caught off guard during their evening rush hour commute, or -- worse yet -- if they had to get to the Airport to catch a plane.
Comments: Sharon, all retail operations probably should have closed because it was likely a thief's dream come true.
Comments: I know when the President comes to town that security is usually a lot tighter. But geez! When I left work yesterday, I went south on Hillcrest Road. Starting from Northhaven (which is a couple of long blocks south of Forest Lane), there was a police car on each side of the road at every street and alley and sometimes two cars. This parade went to Walnut Hill Lane. Remember, this is only one street. I'm sure there were cars at the other end of the streets east of Hillcrest. The private residence where the fund raising dinner was held is in the area of Hillcrest and Royal. I can't imagine how much money that pulled out of the City's coffers. And, heaven help us, if a crime was committed during the hours these cops were just sitting there. It's a good thing this doesn't happen often. |
