Comments: Does anyone know whatever happened to Charles Woodard? We were room mates at Texas Tech for a couple of years and then I lost touch with him. I remember that he studied more than I did but I had more fun! I think he was a Chem E maaaaaaaajor.
Comments: Just saw the news that Wynnewood shopping center is getting a remake with over 100,000 square foot Target store. Glad to see that it not being demolished. My Mother in law worked at the Wynnewood National Bank for years. We dodged another bullet in last nights storm with Gods protection in East Texas.
Comments: Just found this website, would love to keep in touch from 750 miles away. Don't make it back to Texas often since Mom passed.
Comments: I just read our Memoriam column and it was very sobering. We have lost many our classmates.
Comments: I read Gary’s obituary . What a full and interesting life he had!
Comments: BIRTHDAY GREETINGS FROM UPSTATE NY FOR BJ. HOPE IT IS A GREAT ONE FOR YOU.
Comments: Here is a link to the obituary for Gary Loftis. He was one busy guy after leaving SOC High. Gary Loftis Obituary - Sanford, FL (dignitymemorial.com)
Comments: I am also saddened to hear about the passing of Gary. The sands of time are truly slipping through our fingers
Comments: Sorry to hear about Gloria’s passing, Ken I also had a crush on her in the 9th grade. I thought Tommy Willis? , was her beau. I don’t recall seeing her at any reunions.
Comments: Of course I meant God bless Gary’s family
Comments: Oh dear. I’m so sorry about Gary’s struggle with Parkinson’s. Now he is free of his earthy ills. I remember him as a very nice guy. Gid bless his family.
Comments: Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Valentine's Day. I believe Valerie LeBel still lives in Nevada. As I recall, she waited until she was 60 years old to marry for the first time.
Comments: I haven't seen Gary Loftis since our graduation in 1963, however, we've been Facebook friends for a number of years. Last night I received a message from Mike Bentley (SOC '64) informing that Gary's younger sister Phyllis had announced Gary died on February 10th in Florida. For the last two and a half years he was living in an assisted living facility. As I recall, he'd been dealing with Parkinson's for a number of years. I remember Gary from the ROTC band in which he played saxophone. He was quite tall ... a sharp guy. Retired as an Officer in the Air Force. If I find an obituary notice I'll post a link.
Comments: Thank you, Lynell for posting Gloria’s obit. I won’t be able to go tomorrow. It is my great niece’s birthday. Hope someone will represent our class. Barry, Valeria LaBel was her best friend and they stayed in touch all these years
Comments:
Thank you Lynell. Gloria was such a fun girl in high school. Obviously She was a very good athlete. Such a terrible disease.
Comments: This was online today.
Comments: I thought she went with Carl Ward for a long time. Who was her girlfriend that she was always with at Elisha M. Pease?
Comments: Peaches, do you know any more about Gloria’s passing? Was she in this area?
Comments: Sad to hear about Gloria Jean. There was a time during our Junior High days when I was madly in love with her. I saw her occasionally through the years, but not recently. She will be missed.
Comments: I’m so sorry to learn of Gloria’s death. It’s cold down here by the Golf(ha) and our humidity makes seem colder. But, not as cold as North Texas!! Wow! I remember those winters in Dallas. You SOCites up there stay safe inside😱❄️
Comments: Gloria Mcann passed away over the weekend. I don’t know the official date.
Comments: David and I used this miserable weather day to do our taxes. They’re a piece of cake now that we don’t have two businesses to wrangle! The only vehicle that’s been by on our busy street today was an ambulance, headed up the hill to the hospital.
Comments: Our puppies don’t like. But, neither do I.
Comments: I hate cold weather so I'm not venturing out for any reason. It just started sleeting mixed with freezing rain here, and it's really coming down hard. The part of our patio that isn't covered was covered in ice in a matter of minutes. It's also thundering, so I guess this is what the weather dudes are calling "thunder sleet."
Comments: Yeah, Bill, we never knew Charlotte lives on the golf coast. The truth is out! Y‘all stay warm, and don’t go outside tomorrow to see if it’s slick. It probably will be!
Comments: WOW! Three posts in one day. We're on a roll now.
Comments: Gulf coast, of course. Must’ve been my accent because I was dictating.
Comments: Not all SOCites are in North Texas. Some of us are down here close to the golf coast. Last week, my street was flooded and I could not get out of my driveway. Of course, this is Texas weather. “If you don’t like the weather, wait a minute. “ is our theme.
Comments: Batten down the hatches, local SOCites. It’s going to get cold tonight!
Comments: Peaches I heard nothing but great comments about your latest party. I’m so sorry I couldn’t make it—again! Happy New Year SOCites! |
