Please begin praying for Brenda Brown Kemp. She went to the emergency room today to have tests run. She may have a possible blood clot. I will post when we find out results.

Dear friends, Gary and I thank all of you for your sweet comments during this sad time in our lives.  Dawn was a blessing to us and the family and we will miss her terribly.  We are thankful for the time we had with her, always never enough time, so hold your loved ones close. Time goes by way too fast.

Gary - one of my ole Lisbon friends, I am sending my thoughts and good memories of your beautiful daughter, Dawn.  It was an honor to meet her in Seattle.  She was hospitable and she gave us a great tour of the area. She did favor her Dad and had a smile that just sparkled.  So, love to you and Tanya, and I hope to see you again.

Lisa Wright texted me that our Tim Wright went to be with Jesus last night. Tim had a brain tumor. Lisa gave Tim an 80th birthday surprise party this year. Tim was so excited and humbled by so many of his friends that came and took the time to reminisce their time together. Tim was also so happy he and Lisa came to our 60th Reunion.

Gary and Tanya, I am sad to hear of your great loss ! I only met Dawn once but saw she was a loving daughter in that short time. She was absolutely gorgeous!! I read her obituary. She lead a remarkable life and accomplished so much in her 56 years! Hang on to your memories for comfort. Prayers for your family!

I’m so sorry to read that Gary‘s daughter has passed away in Seattle. May memories be a blessing.

Did you know that Classmates.com has many Dens available?  They’re scanned and can be looked through online at no charge. 1959 was added recently. Such nice looking kids!  Go to their website and plan to spend a while because there are so many people we know.

Suzanne had always been a very private person and was a little upset with me when I told her that I had posted on the 63 website. That aside, John in now is a rehab facility in Cottonwood. It is much closer to Sedona than either Prescott or Phoenix. Instead of a 4hr round trip, it is less than an hour. John still has a long road to recovery. He can’t eat by himself and cannot walk. He is getting good help and should be able to go back home eventually.

Feeling Sentimental? Study Shows Nostalgia May Help You Maintain Close Relationships

Whether it’s refusing to throw away your long-dead Tamagotchi or continuing to cuddle a childhood stuffed animal hanging on for dear life, nostalgia can manifest in odd ways. But according to a recent study, the tendency toward it may lead to a more productive outcome than just rewatching Gilmore Girls for the fifth time (no judgment here!).

Researchers from the University of Buffalo and Kyoto University found that nostalgic people may be more motivated to strengthen and maintain long-term relationships than those who aren’t. Why? When we reminisce about the good times we’ve spent with loved ones, we appreciate them more — and are more driven to maintain those connections, the team suggests.

“People who feel nostalgic more often and value those memories are more aware of their important relationships and the need to nurture them,” co-author Kuan-Ju Huang said in a statement. “This means these friendships may be more likely to last, even as we get older and our lives, interests, and responsibilities change.”

Our memorial page has grown by two names. I’m sorry I didn’t see that we lost two Lisbon kids until today. David was a nice fellow I didn’t know really well, but Pat was a close friend. We did sleepovers, and I knew her parents, sister Cynthia and brother Donnie. Her father held Patricia to a very high standard, which she met and exceeded by being our valedictorian. She was modest about her brains and beauty, but those who knew her knew she was very special.

My heart goes out to the families of these two people we loved so much.

The class of '63 recently lost two of the nicest people I have ever known. Pat Rogers was always the smartest and sweetest person I knew and she had a really great smile.
David Renfro was a longtime friend since we were in the Cub Scouts together. I used to ride my bicycle from my house on Volga (east of Lancaster Rd) past Lisbon Elementary, down Ann Arbor to David's house which was close to Marsalis. We would then sell Coca Cola bottles at the 7-11 next to Polar Bear for a nickel and buy Topps Bubble gum baseball cards.
Great times with great friends. God Bless them!

I agree  with you Pat. Pat was such a lovely person.

We must  all be turning 80 or close to. As I complain about it and how fast it seemed to happen, I stop and remember some of us didn’t have the privilege of living to 80.

I am so sorry to hear about Pat. I always enjoyed visiting with them at our reunions. I have a few cousins that lived in Red Oak, and I think everyone in that small town knew the Robinsons.

Our Pat Robinson passed away last night. Fred asked Karen Drennan to call me. She said Fred thinks it was a heart attack. Pat has had health issues for a few years now. Fred and Pat were so devoted to each other…..a beautiful love story. Arrangements have not be made yet. As soon as I hear, I will post details.
