Comments: I am sorry, Michele, Your Dad was a Junior in 1963. He was a wonderful young man! Thanks, Donna Gwin Libhart
Comments: Dear Michele, I remember your Dad as a very sweet, handsome young man who was on the "B" team of the Golden Bears. He always had a smile on his face and was very popular with all the girls. My best memory of him was our graduation in June, 1963. He was a sophomore usher at the State Fair Music Hall, and he was guiding us up the steps from the floor of the Hall to the stage. I was trying to be elegant and graceful, but it didn't work that way!. He held my hand and I was able to get up the steps. I said "just call me Grace" and he laughed. I am happy that your Dad was such a wonderful example for you to follow. I wish I had known him better. Best Wishes for you and your family Donna Gwin Libhart
Comments: Hello. My name is Michele Frazier. My dad's name is James A. Frazier. He went to South Oak Cliff class of 64. He passed away in 1985. I would just love to get to speak with anyone who knew him. I love and miss him so much. Thank you
Comments: Larry, We so appreciate you letting us know about Bedford. We remember him well as the little "rebel rouser" brother of our dear Mary. I think of her often and knew that Bedford was not well. Bless your family at this sad time. 63 Class, I'm sadden at the news of Kay's death. She was a very special childhood friend of mine. She , Ouida and I were very close at Lisbon. She had such a sweet personality. Why she put up with me I'll never know.
Comments: Sorry, wrong class.
Comments: Larry, thank you for letting us know about our Mary's little brother. I'm sorry to learn of his passing.
Comments: For all you Class of '63 folks: FORREST BEDFORD MCCORD, JR. (June 1, 1946-December 24, 2014) About the time I was starting my 5:30 Christmas Eve service, my brother, Forrest Bedford McCord, Jr. left this life. At some later time, I hope to write a more fitting memorial, but for now I will simply say that I have lost one of my dearest and closest family members. Like my two sisters, he was struck with cancer and the invasive brain procedure and treatments left him primarily bedridden for the past few years. Had it not been for the total devotion and care of his wife, Luanne, mother-in-law, Gerry Sheffield, and step-son Jake, I'm sure we would have lost him much sooner. As you all know, Bedford loved SOC and all his classmates (though he was quite the rebel rouser and ladies' man back in the day). No services are planned but a visitation-type event may take place later. I'll keep you updated. Thanks for all the joy you each brought to my brother's life
Comments: Valerie, called me Christmas Eve to wish me a Merry Christmas and to let me know that it was determined that Kay had a heart attack. As far as anyone knew her heart had always been fine. Hope all of you are having a wonderful Christmas. We had a fabulous Christmas Eve. Lots of good food, plenty of presents and my beautiful six year old granddaughter, who I love with all my heart. Merry Christmas everyone!
Comments: John, that is really a wonderful picture of Kaye. Valeriie Adamson Bannister who was really close to Kay and her family sent me an email saying Kaye was found dead in her bed. This was really a shock to her family. Sometime ago she had undergone treatments for cancer, but this may or may not be relevant.
Comments: Thank you, John.
Comments: Below is a link to Kay Strickland Leaks' obituary with a not-to-recent pic of her and a connection to post a comment. She was a neat gal in high school. http://www.jaynesmemorialchapel.com/obituaries/obituary-listings?obId=370940#/obituaryInfo
Comments: Sharon, glad you liked the pictures. You were missed! It was a great party.

Comments: Thanks for the pictures. Sure glad John and Dru drove up and sorry I missed them. Looks as if everyone was having a great time as usual. I'm working a short week and will not be looking forward to going back to work. I could get used to a 2-day work week! Watched some of the best high school championship football games this weekend ever. The stadium workers at JerryWorld had their hands full. There were three games on both Friday and Saturday, and the last games weren't over until almost midnight. Then the Cowboy game yesterday. And, what a game, wow. Hope everyone has a Blessed Christmas and Prosperous New Year.
Comments: I just heard terrible news. Our classmate Kay Strickland Leaks apparently passed away last night.
Comments: I posted pictures from the December 7 Luncheon on the events page. Just click the top button to see them. Some are mine, and some were taken by Dru Southworth. Many thanks to Dru and John for sending them. I'll warn y'all that I had an issue with the slideshow feature on Smugmug where the photos are posted. I emailed them, and I know they will fix it. You may need to scroll through them one at a time till they look at it. If anyone else has pictures they'd care to share, please send them to me.
Comments: When we sold my mom's home a year ago, we were amazed at all the Christmas stuff she had in boxes, sacks, etc. She always decorated but I guess we didn't pay that much attention. She did have several ceramic trees and figurines, so each of the great grandchildren took one home. We found ornaments that I remembered putting on the tree when I was a small child. I wish I had kept more of them, especially since she came to live with us.
Comments: Donna. this is the time of year that reminds me most of my parents. My mother loved the Christmas holidays and went to a lot of trouble cooking and buying us gifts that she thought my brother and I might like. She made Christmas fun. I have really enjoyed buying presents this year for my six year old granddaughter. Have any of you been to a store called Justice __Just for Girls? The store is located next to Target in Medallion Center. I love that store. They have everything you would ever want to buy for girls and needless to say I spent a small fortune in that store. I suppose that many of you with grandchildren are having a hard time keeping your budget under control. Merry Christmas to everyone!!!
Comments: It's always so nice to see Donna's name on here. If anybody took pictures at the luncheon Dec. 7, and you'd like to share them with this website, please email them to me. My battery went kaflooey shortly after I arrived there, and I just took a few pictures. Oops!
Comments: Hello, everyone! I was remembering my own dear Mother, Elizabeth Gwin, who passed away in 2008. Christmas was her favorite time of year. She always managed to gift me with something I needed. She usually called Hughie or Tina, our daughter for hints. One year she gifted me with several of her own Secret Pal gifts, some little figurines with birds and animals and a cute little dancing Santa. When I decorate with these precious items, I am reminded of her. Dear Peaches, I hope you have a wonderful time with your Mother. I remember when Daddy died in 1964, your Mother sent a beautiful card to Mom. Loraine is very special and Mom regretted not being able to keep in touch with her. She told me she lost her address. So wish her a very happy birthday from the Gwin family, Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year to All. Donna Gwin Libhart
Comments: I was thinking the same thing, Peaches. Were pictures taken at the Christmas party? I keep looking for some! I was feeling puny and didn't get to attend. I know I missed a great time. I'm almost ready for Christmas. Finally got my house and tree decorated over the weekend. My sister has a Santa collection that over the years grew to 500+, so she decided to downsize a couple of years ago and started giving them away to family members. She's given me a number of them and they were ones I gave her over the years! Hope everyone is having a great week.
Comments: where is everybody.....you would think this is Christmas tim
Comments: Next Saturday, December 20th is my mother (Loraine Williams') 93rd birthday. I am brining her home to my house for a visit with her family and friends. If you know my mother, please send her a birthday card to my addresss (8791 Oak Stream, Dallas, TX 75243). She would love to hear the names of people in her present and past remembering her. She is the most dear mother a person could ask for. She had a stroke about 1 1/2 years ago and can not do anything for herself. My mother never complains about the situation she is in. I want this birthday to be very special and hearing from those who knew her will make it that way. Thank you!
Comments: What a wonderful day....Thanks Peaches and all the hostesses and host for a great holiday party. Everyone was sooo friendly and seem to go out of their way to make everyone feel special. Thanks, Thanks, Thanks.....and, wishing all of you a Wonderful Christmas!!!
