Comments: If you have any small animals and live in the Lake Highlands area of Dallas, you need to keep a careful watch on them. We have seen several coyotes in our neighborhood. Several cats and a Chihuahua were taken. Fortunately, for the Chihuahua he only held him in his mouth and then the owner got him to drop the little dog. Now, anytime a coyote comes around the Chihuahua starts having a fit and warns everyone of the presence of a coyote.
Comments: John: You have a flair for entertaining and a much better memory than I have. I don't remember much about classes at SOC. I remember Ms. Bryant for Algebra and Mr. Hedrick for Chemistry. Ms. Bryant was living with her parents and rumor has it that her parent's house was "egged" one night by several (actually 3) in our class. Rumor also has it that someone in our class got Mr. Headrick in an awkward situation. If you remember, they were doing construction on the building our senior year and there were a couple of burly guys with a jackhammer outside just below our room. I heard that someone wrote a note to the workers threatening physical harm is they did not stop the noise. Mr. Hedrick was foolish enough to sign his name and put the room number on the note. It was quite a scene when one of the burly guys showed up in our classroom. Like I said, they were just rumors!

Comments: My Peggy Hess story: I took sophomore English with Miss Hess and we did a study block on "Greek Mythology". Afterwards she gave us an assignment to write our own Greek Myth. In the class were my pals Larry Pool and Charles Woodard (whom some of you may recall). My hapless friends became the inspiration for my paper - "The Legend of Southestes". At this point the details of my myth escape me but I do recall that Southestes was a great god who was served by two lesser gods ... the near-sighted "Poolia" and his dimwit henchman "Woodus". Somewhere in the tale Southestes shot an arrow through the darkness to slay a troublesome dragon and save the kingdom. Picture Superman without the cape. Miss Hess got a kick out of the satirical myth which incorporated my classmates. She gave me an "A", then got me out of class to read my tale to two of her other classes. I enjoyed the brief moment in the limelight and most likely that class is where my particular style of "observation & comment" was launched. Poolia went on to become a Professor and a Baptist Minister. Woodus became an engineer chasing petroleum around the globe; while I alone escaped to tell this tale (and paraphrase Moby Dick). For the encouragement, I thank you dear Miss Hess.
Comments: I am saddened to learn of one of my favorite teachers, Ms Peggy Hess-Hughes. I took two years of French with her as my teacher and loved her dearly. Did you know she took ballet in France? She was an amazing woman, and after Robert graduated from college he came back and married Miss Hess. Robert Hughes was a graduate of SOC 1965, loved her very dearly and they traveled all over the world together. They were very private and their love was one of a kind! She will be missed but never forgotten. Amazing lady.
Comments: David, I am sorry about your loss. Wanda was a sweet person. Thank you for letting her classmates know about her passing. May you be blessed and find peace.
Comments: David, thank you for letting her classmates know. We are so sorry to hear this. I know how difficult it is to lose a spouse. Fifty-one years with the same person is absolutely a blessing and then to also have two children. I pray your memories will give you some peace.

Comments: My name is David Adams Class of 60.My wife is Wanda (King) Adams Class of 63. I lost her to a heart attack on 10-27-14. We had been married for 51 years with 2 children. I am going to miss her very very much.

Comments: The loss of Peggy Hess is sad news, indeed. She was such a fresh face amongst our faculty and a delightful young teacher. Am I correct in recalling that she was a Sunset High girl?
Comments: Wayne Z called me tonight with some very sad news.........Peggy Hess Hughes passed away Thursday from a stroke. He said the service will be private. She was one of our youngest teachers and one of my favoriates. I would call her every before every reunion and we always had a very nice talk.
Comments: I am so glad that Bentley didn't have Ebola. Has a pet ever had Ebola, or is this just an overzealous act of caution?

Comments: Thanks Lynell, I was able to see the new images on my cell-phone now. Great pictures of all of you. Wish we could have been there, but grandson's ballgame was a "had to be there" kind of thing in Longview and they won the championship. He has one more tournament for the year at Ranger Stadium in Arlington. Sounds like the luncheon was a great success, missed seeing everyone!
Comments: Lynell, the battery in your computer needs to be replaced if you want to cure your time resetting problem. Probably will require a tech to do it as lots of these batteries are soldered on the mother board.

Can't wait until the December Christmas party.
Comments: Tanya, every time we have a power failure, I have to reset the clock on my computer. The clock will revert to some date years ago, and then my computer won't let me on any websites. Took me forever to figure out the problem.

I can only get on in this guestbook if I put in Guestbook SOC 63, as I have the Kapersky Virus Scanner on my computer and it will not allow me access to the SOC 63 site in general. I am on WiFI here in the country, no AOL or Satellite Direct as before so maybe that has something to do with it. The Kapersky will not allow me to open the site up. On my IPhone, I can open the site up fine, but it still shows the old image page. I'll just have to remember all you guys/girls as you have always been, pretty and handsome. Thanks for the note.

Comments: Kathleen, they have name tags. Maybe you can zoom in and see some of them. I think we need heavy black markers for these things! I didn't put names on the pictures because unfortunately I don't know some of the people from other classes either, Tanya, I think your computer goes to an older version of the website. I'm not sure how to fix it, but it used to happen to me when I used AOL. I don't know if that's what you use.
