Comments: Oh, Sharon. Poor you! Feel better soon. It seems like when ya get sick this time of year, it hangs on about twice as long as it should. My aunt used to give me paper dolls when I was laid up. That's what you need, a nice new book of Katy Keen paper dolls. AND she made me tapioca pudding, the real kind with milk and eggs. Being sick wasn't so bad in the good old days! 
Comments: I wish I could have been there Saturday, but you really didn't need someone with 102 fever hugging on everybody. Whatever this crud is, I wish it would go away now. Feeling better but not great even after a Z-Pak. Can't wait to see everyone again soon.
Comments: I note that South Oak Cliff High School is one of the Dallas County early voting sites. It might be fun to go there and vote!

Comments: Today's SOC luncheon at El Fenix was great fun. Many thanks to that hostess with the absolute mostest, Cynthia Huse, for setting this up. The few pictures I took are now on the Images page. Doggoned if I didn't miss an entire side of our table, including my husband. Danny Willard, and the Collinses and goodness knows who else. I'm hoping Lonnie or Cynthia will bail me out. There were people at this luncheon who've never been to a SOC luncheon before. I just love that!! Norma Salinas and I used to walk home from Lisbon together, and Laura Chovanetz was a Boude Storey pal. Gale Ward and I have been Facebook friends for a while, and now we're real in-person friends. It was just wonderful to see everyone. Now look at my shaky photos I took today. *Cynthia and Lonnie, HELP!

Comments: Ginger, you didn't miss anything. I was just remarking on the deaths of two well-known gentlemen with remarkable voices. Shea was 104 and I feel certain that if Billy Graham's health hadn't declined, Shea would still be singing.

Comments: Carol Gentry, how nice to hear from you! I hope you stir up some friends from JNB here. I think 6 or 8 grade schools fed into SOC, so we're a mixed-up bunch. I was a Lancaster Road Scholar from Lisbon. Can't believe our 50th reunion is almost here. We just graduated yesterday.
Comments: I did not graduate with you all, but I went to John Neely Bryan through the 7th grade and was in grade school with a lot of you. I've just heard about Jimmy Nicodemus--whom I remember distinctly from the first grade. What a loss. If anyone remembers me, I would love to hear from you by email. My best friend (from second grade at John Neely Bryan) is Carol Campisi, who did graduate with you. She's the one told me about Jimmy Nic. I hope you all enjoy your 50th class reunion this year. When I was in the 7th grade, our family expanded through the coming of both my youngest sister and my grandmother--so our house was way too small and we moved after school finished that year. I graduated from Sunset in 63. Take care--
Comments: Yes, back then one could order a QUEEN BEE (the insect) from the Sears Farm Catalogue............which, was news to me when I took the order...the other phone operators laughed at me all the time because I was so "catalogue green" and surprised so many times at what people could order.

Charlotte, oh, my goodness. I'd not heard the term step-ins since my aunt used to say it. I know what step-ins are, and I am hesitant to ask what a Queen Bee is. Are you talking about the insect??
Comments: I am from the class of 62 and would like to invite your class to a gathering at my place in Rising Star this weekend. For several years we have had a Spring Fling to get together and SHOOT! YES SHOOT firearms! I am a retired gunsmith and have a range where we shoot Clays, rifles and pistols. We also have volleyball, horse shoes, hiking over my 20 acres, dancing to "oldies", eating way too much and just hanging-out in the country. I am NOT rich so don't expect a million $ house and a butler! We do say a prayer before meals and several guests stay overnight. A blind-driving contest is held AFTER the wine tasting...but not on roads...in our front yard with golf cars! You are NOT required to shoot or drive or play games, just be here! If you plan to stay overnight please call 254-643-4867 (guns) to see if we still have room or if you need to get a motel. Several are within 25 minutes. We do have a big tent, a bunk house with shower/toilet and one RV hookup that is not taken...yet! Sorry I am so late to tell you guys but concellations happen when you get our age. Don't try to lie, we know when you graduated!! 254-643-4867 house or 972-965-2524 cell ASAP. E-mail will also work. We are 5 miles EAST of Rising Star on hwy 36 between Comanche and Rising Star. My place is 20 acres but we have 165 acres of family land to play on. I am also posting on the 61 class where my sister graduated. Hope some can make the trip.

Comments: Yes, I'm sorry to learn of those deaths too. Wakes me up so to speak. Lynell, you were a high roller compared to me....you left quickly. I didn't quit Sears until I was thru college and that was 1969!!! By then I was working in the catalogue dept....ugh...want to order some step-ins or a Queen Bee? When I first received those kind of calls, I thought it was a friend playing a joke on me..until the other ladies on the order lines would tell me what page to look on. ....oh yes, that was before computers and the customer had to have their catalogue and tell us what page OR we could look up an item in the index....truly. We had all the catalogue s in front of us at eye level to make it easy...ahem!!! WOW, haven't thought of that in years. Thank you for the update on Larry...I'm glad he was slow enough to be alive today.
Comments: I thought about Larry Macon, too, when I heard about the bombs at the Boston Marathon, as well as about one of my co-workers who marathons all over the Country, but missed this one. According to an article in today's Texas Lawyer, Larry considers himself "the luckiest man in the world." My niece was a video geek at Pat Summeral Productions, and she and my sister visited him at his palatial home in Southlake. He struggled with serious health problems for several years, but his death was wholly unexpected.
Comments: My, my. Pat Summerall and George Beverly Shea on the same day. And, thanks, Barry for the info on Larry. I thought about him when the news flash came on.
Comments: I checked Larry's Facebook page and he is OK. Already back home. He was at the 25-mile mark when the bombs went off.
Comments: I assume that Larry Macon was running the Boston Marathon. Has anyone heard if he was and, if so, is he OK?
