Comments: A really good guy, he got me my job at Polar Bear and a .25 cent an hour raise more than my job at Piggly Wiggly!
Comments: Bill, I'm sure you remember Jim Carter from our elementary school days at Russell. A really likeable kid. Very sad to learn of his passing. Here is the link to his obit: James Carter Obituary - Paris, TX (dignitymemorial.com)
Comments: I saw a post on FB that Jim Carter has passed away. The post was from his wife, Ginny (SOC, class of '65). RIP, Jim.
Comments: This is a link to Skipper’s obituary. What a good man.
Comments: Happy Birthday Peaches
Comments: Pat, My husband, Terry, met Skipper in 1965 while they were both working nights at Republic Bank during our time at North Texas. Terry came home one eve and said, do you remember somebody name Skipper ? From then on we became close couple friends. An example of “small world”.
Comments: There are not words to describe Skipper, so I won't try. He was gracious to Jerry and I when we went to interview him in Houston for our 40th Reunion. Jerry worked with him at Polar Bear and thought the world of him. He worked while attending North Texas while others didn't. Rest in peace, my friend.
Comments: This is such sad news about Skipper. I know he used his name Ben in his adulthood but he will always be Skipper to me. Charlotte, I am so sorry for your great loss as I know y’all were so close.
Comments:
It is with great sorrow for me to tell you that Ben (Skipper)Morris passed away early this morning. He had been battling Pancreatic Cancer for over a year. He and his wife Margaret have been married 57 years this week. I am heart broken to lose such a wonderful friend of 62 years. He was very special and always brought joy to those around him. Rest in peace Skipper 🙏🏻
Comments: John, you may not be able to use your Frequent Flyer card at the Como that weekend. You might want to check.
Comments: Was the Como Motel booked up for that date? (asking for a friend)
Comments: Thank you, Peaches. I appreciate your thoughtfulness amd effort. Looking gorward to visiting with you again either at the reunion or Cliff Temple.

We are going to have so much fun seeing our classmates and guests and sharing stories from the good days and now. I have missed seeing y’all. Comments: Hey, if you plan to come to the 60th Reunion , please gather any photos or memorabilia you have from our era and bring it with you. Grade schools etc.
Comments: Pat Vessels, I still say that if there had been an award for the best-looking couple that we would have won - all because of you. I still have the photo they took of us that night and have always wondered why they were in black and white.
Comments: Hey everyone! Let’s look forward to our 60th reunion. i hope everyone who is able will come. 60 years ago? WOW!
Comments: On the subject of "Prom dates" ... mine was the beautiful Suanne Carr, a Junior at Kimball High. As I've mentioned before, nobody from SOC would go out with me more'n once, so I had to poach dates from other schools.
Comments: I remember Bill Akins was my Prom date. I still call him PD. He was so handsome and so nice. I'm so glad he invited me. He is still one of the most thoughtful and kind people I know. Thanks, Bill, for a memorable senior prom.
Comments: I think I’m the only person who didn’t go to the prom. Who remembers their prom date? Who was it? |
