Comments: On the day of our dear classmate Rodger’s memorial service, this notice was posted by Buddy Capps, Sharon Capps’s cousin, on Facebook: "My sweet cousin passed away this week...Sharon Capps Turner class of SOC 63 is now in the hands of the Lord with her husband Jimmy Turner SOC class of 62.... arrangements pending... but service most likely Prestonwood Baptist Church Plano Tuesday 10a...." I wish I could have attended Rodger’s service on this beautiful day. I have happy memories of him, a true American Hero, with his big smile and ”I’m blessed!” He gave up so much for our country. May he rest in eternal peace.
Comments: I am just now learning about Rodgers passing! So sorry to hear. A great guy! Fond memories
Comments: Rodger's service at the DFW national Cemetery is scheduled to start at 1:15 p.m. You should be inline in lane 2 by 1:00. Time is critical at that cemetery because of the number of services scheduled there every day and they rarely get behind.
Comments: Rodger Davis memorial is tomorrow. We will be in Lane 2. Please verify with volunteer when you drive to lanes
Comments: Glad to hear it, Steve! I hope all is well.
Comments: Alive and still kicking!
Comments: Peaches I plan on attending Rodger's service and look forward to seeing others who knew Rodger.
Comments: I wish so much I could attend Rodger’s farewell. I will be there in spirit as he was a great friend of mine.
Comments: I have been remiss in checking our guest book. Birthdays got by me and I should have commented on the drought. Our ranch must have a giant umbrella over it. It rained around us , but missed us nearly every time. We did not even make hay this year. Unfortunately, I’m unable to attend Roger’s memorial. We will be out of town. Bill, it is wonderful what you are doing. Roger was a one of a kind and I’m glad he will have this wonderful remembrance.
Comments: Peaches, I will be there.
Comments: Come Celebrate the Life of Rodger Lynn Davis!! Rodger Davis Memorial Service Friday, October 21, 2022 1:15 p.m. Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway Dallas, TX 75211 Directions once inside the park:
We can begin to line-up at 1p.m. The service will be about 25 minutes, then they scoot us out for the next service.
Comments: Let me return the sentiment. Happy Birthday, Roomie. Didn't get a card in the mail, so this will have to suffice. All my love and wishes.
Comments: My roomie from UNT is celebrating her birthday. I wish you a wonderful day, Sharon June, and keep that pretty smile and great personality going. It makes a lot of people happy.
Comments: Hey, Phyllis Isaacs. Happy Birthday!
Comments: Hi, Gary Whitten! I seem to love in a Dallas bull’s eye area, too. It certainly was nice! I’d almost forgotten how good rain smells. The cool-down has been a delight.
Comments: I live near Emory in Rains County and we were under one of the bullseye areas on the weather map. Between Saturday afternoon and Monday afternoon, we received 13.59 inches of rain. The first storm on Sunday dropped 2.05 inches in 45 minutes.
Comments: We ended the day yesterday with just under 7 inches of rain. Outstanding.
Comments: Finally! We've picked up just under two inches of rain in the last 12 hours. Much needed, and apparently more to come today.
Comments: My prayers to the rain god were answered both days. Had really good rain along with the strong winds. The temp on my patio dropped 20 degrees!
Comments: We finally got some rain yesterday afternoon. There were storms all around us and some areas got as much as 2.5 inches. I must have angered the rain gods because we just got .15!
Comments: We also had the monsoon rains yesterday. I think I saw 3 drops it the driveway. Immediately turned into steam due to the heat. .04” predicted for today and my waders are at the coast!
Comments: Glorious rain all around the Metromess yesterday afternoon. Well, it was all around except for my house and the DFW airport, where they record the official rainfall. So the beat goes on for a few of us. I've lost track of the number but it's been over two months since we had "measurable" rain! A trace of rain doesn't count. We wait for this afternoon when there is a 40% coverage in the forecast.
Comments: And it is supposed to be over 100 in Albany, NY tomorrow, the hottest day EVER. We have had very little rain up here too. YIKES
Comments: 17 (or 18 - I've lost track) days in a row of 100+ temps and 57 days without rain. ENOUGH ALREADY!!!!!
Comments: Is everyone warm enough? I’m trying hard to remember February of ‘21, but not having much luck.
Comments: i wonder: How long until we're indicted for celebrating 4th of July?
Comments: Marilyn Patterson, I think of you all the time. Hope you are doing well. Are you still a member of that church you were so interested in some years ago? I have a new smart phone that is so smart I don't know how to use it, seriously, haven't made a call yet. Must get my niece over to show me how to operate it and then I'll give you a shout. Glad to hear from you.
Comments: I just felt lead to reach out to classmate Peaches and left her a text to contact me. I’m still in Houston.
Comments: I thought some in this class may remember Tommy Morales from class of 64. He passed away May 31, services were held on June 6th in Randolph, Tx. |
