Comments: Strange One, I would recognize your Fru-Fru anywhere. Phil, let's you and I challenge the Bryan brothers!
Comments: Yeah, yeah, I already know you don't like Jimmy Carter...Char... Fru-Fru'd huh.. That's one of my words, too. You better be laughing hard...Sam.. You better be..... And I still like Jimmy C.... Ha-a-a-a! and a Ninny-Ninny Boo-Boo on top of that.. May the Force, Buddha, and Betty Crocker Be With you All..(Except Barry he's a 'wooden head'...for sure...
Comments: OK you Wooden Heads let's try to stay out of the political arena. No High IQ's, enlightenment or peace and light can come from it. However, I must say that Jimmy C may be a nice man, but he has become senile in the last few years and should stay home and shut up! Uh, now, what was I saying?...haaaa!! The weather down here today is so gorgeous! The bluebonnets are extraordinary too. It is not the best year I have seen for them, but it is right up there with the better ones. I went to the Men's Clay Court Tennis Championship tournament today and sitting out watching on a beautiful day with a slight breeze was Heavenly! Phil Pelch was there watching too, but we didn't find each other. He couldn't find me because I had been to a luncheon and was too fru fru'd up for him to recognize me.
Comments: Wait a minute Ginger. I'm laughing so hard at your political exhortation about Jimma Caater that I can hardly type. I get it, it's political humor. LOL, LOL. And you speak of "replacements". See, that's what I'm looking for, a replacement for a guy who thinks he's Buddha.....or maybe Jesus. But he's really just Barack Hussein Obama, well, not really, he started out as Barry Soetoro. What, did everyone run out of their meds at once? We've gone from cooking squirrels to Buddha (with a side trip or two to Jimma) all within a day.
Comments: I've seen one of those 'hunting for a replacement' programs, before..I don't know if...it was that one or not...It reminds me of the 'Samuel' story in the Old Testament..They did a movie on that kind of story about the Dalai Lama.. Brad Pitt did that 7 yrs in Tibet..movie, too. Thict Nact Than (spelling...really) wrote a book about when Jesus and Buddha were Friends.. You have to think 'unlinear time' to consider that... Keanu did some Buddha movie but I didn't watch it all the way through... I noticed it took Buddha...most of his life to become enlightened.. That's about 'par' for most of us.. His first chapter of enlightenment came under the Bodhi Tree when he was 35.. Buddha was not and is not a god...we all know that don't we...? His way is a way of life.. wisdom, compassion, mindfulness.. Sounds a lot like Jesus to me..
Comments: Ginger, I watched the PBS program on the Buddha and throughly enjoyed it. Did you see the Independent Lens program that followed where the Dalai Lama sent one of his priests out to find a baby boy under two years of age, who was to replace a famous "holy man" who had passed away eight years before. He was to find a baby boy who was the reincarnation of the priest who had died.
Comments: What soap commercial of the fifties featured a male singer with a deep voice? Hint: The name of the soap is a four letter word.
Comments: I don't care...B-B-B-Barry...I still like him..He wasn't ever the worst president.. Some of us never...I mean...never voted for a Bush..Either one..It's said that 59 million idiots voted for George Jr.. Do they have wooden heads,,,,Barry..? Were you one of those 59 million wooden-headed idiots..?? I certainly Hope Not...!! Read my lips...Ph-l-b-b-b-t-t-t....! Charlotte, did I spell (phlb-b-b-t-t-t) right..? (at least, we don't have long, long political 'exhortations' and ours do 'fall' in the humorous sort of exhortations...) Did you hear that Sam... ? Keep it funny, when you can..(Sam's gonna email me , now.)
Comments: JS: I haven't forgiven you for the e-mail with the squirrel recipe, so I'm not glad you're back. I've alerted my friends at the IRS to be on the lookout for your Ajax deduction. And, I've still got the trap out for your culinary gift. I hope it's a skunk, even though it will be a little harder to ship. And, Ginger, you have now shown that you do indeed have a wooden head. Jimmy Carter was one of the worst presidents we've ever had and the damage that he did cannot be made up for by building Habitat houses and whatever else he has done since leaving office. He no longer has the label of being the "worst president" since the last election.
Comments:
Haaa! Good one, JS. Welcome back. Here are some smileys just for you.
Comments: I use Ajax...dish detergent because it's says 'antibacterial'. I think the 'Kroger' brand cleanser is..the last one I bought..because it's cheaper..The can rusted , however. I might consider going back to Ajax Cleanser...next time..not because of a tax deduction.. I fear...that this is a Southworth 'joke'..anyway.. Everyone is 'glad' you're back John....!! Just wanted to let you know..
Comments: Well, Sam & Ginger ... according to the old commercial, "you'll stop paying the elbow tax" (when you start cleaning with Ajax). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BuyG3kIgxtk Don't forget to take that deduction, assuming you actually do use Ajax. I saved the can just in case I have to provide documentation for the IRS.
Comments: Cousin Johnny, we used Bab-O, so I wouldn't know about that Ajax tax deal. We give up. Tell us what tax form to use.
Comments: Lynell, It was Dr. Lee Salk... the psychologist... I went to the founder of CMCR to get the answer... She started the organization, CMCR with the former wife of Dr. Lee Salk... Your 'Jonas'..is safe..now... G.. (of course, there is that extreme cruelty thing that was brought up by the wife/exwife..)I have to find out which 'Wesley' brother it was).. Martin Luther was known to be abusive.. Google...you-all. Joan Crawford...was an abusive Mom... It happens..See what you can find out..
Comments: No...but I'm all 'ears' John...Please tell us.. **There's an old law on the books in Memphis, that says you can't blow your horn in the city... I haven't been arrested...yet...(knock on wood...that would be my head)
Comments: April 15th is approaching - I am slowly working my way through TurboTax's list of potential tax deductions and ran across a deduction that first appeared in the 1950's. Somehow I'd overlooked it. Can any of you name the tax one can stop paying if one uses Ajax (the foaming cleanser)?
Comments: I googled, too, and see that Jonas Salk was married 28 years. The divorce took place in San Diego in 1968. One interview with his son Darrell Salk, M.D., stated: "He was an inveterate optimist. He always believed that good things would prevail, especially if one worked hard for them. He was admired and loved by patients, friends and co-workers for his gentleness and grace. He was a highly moral man and held tenaciously to ideas and concepts that he believed to be correct, even in the face of opposition."
Comments: I'm just googling right now...Donna Lindsay Salk divorced Dr. Jonas Salk on grounds of extreme cruelty..in 1968..That's the 'Polio' doctor..He died at 80, I believe. One report said he married Pablo Picasso's former mistress..!. Dr. Lee Salk, psychologist, died at 65 and his son said he was a 'child's advocate'..He had a widow...I can't find another brother...? It looks like the 'polio' guy was the one..but I still have to check one of my resources.. It certainly is fun to 'google'...I didn't know about the Picasso...thing.. Life is always interesting..isn't it..? Hardly...ever..a dull moment... ![]()
Comments: I will have to get back to you...on that..It is a 'strong' statement.. I'll refer that to the founder in Los Angeles.. It's the same with the Wesley brothers. A Methodist minister and chaplain (Marines) told me about the Wesley brother.. This stuff is out there.. and it is covered up for years..before anyone says anything.. Then people want to say.."Oh, that can't be true...!". The President...'thing'. We've had very few presidents that have had a 'high' IQ.. Jimmy Carter is one of them. Barack Obama is another one..I didn't vote for Obama because of the Hilary..'thing'. I never voted for Bill because he's one of those...'politicians' I'm talking about that 'violates' trusts...big time..He may do more good ..'outside' the presidency, also.. I'm not defining anyone as being great and good according to whether they've made a lot of money or made a name for themselves...in the 'public's eye'. The skeletons always come out..later. It's better to be 'upfront' about 'issues' in our lives whether we are famous are not.. People tend to 'forgive' each other when finally getting around to admitting..that..well, we did make a mistake.. (It's helped Tiger..a little bit.
Comments: Which of the Salk brothers was abusive? I read that he had two brothers, one a child psychologist and one a veterinarian. How do you know he was an abuser? That's a pretty strong comment.
Comments: Sorry, I had a principal in Nashville to tell me...to always have someone read and edit your writings besides yourself...Of course my ex worked for the BSSB and they had 11 checkpoints and they would still miss errors...! Thats 'The Committee for Mother and Child Rights, Inc'... The founder lived in Va..She now resides in Los Angeles...
Comments: One of the 'Salk' brothers, was abusive to his wife and children...I can't say 'who' Lynell. I will have to research that one.. I was a spokesperson for The Committee for Committee Mother and Child Rights Inc., for 8 yrs, speaking in Wash.DC., Austin, Tx, (both Tn and Tx) Anyone that has 'violated' a trust with women and/or children, I will not support.. That is...a doctor, scientist, politician, priest, minister, etc, I will not support. I've even heard that one of the Wesley (Methodist) brothers was abusive..Occasionally, we hear of a woman that's been abusive.. The ratio of women to men that have been abusive...is quite a bit lower.. **We can thank the Salk brothers for 'no' Polio...I'll do that.. Mother Teresa..probably should be in there...too. (although I don't know that much about her)
Comments: Yes, Jimmy Carter is a good man with lust in his heart (but don't we all) and he's done a lot of good after he left ofc. He was not a good pres. But he is a good man. You have to call a spade a spade, not a black small shovel like object! Sam - You are right on!!! If Obama has his way, his administrations next big effort will be to ask us to sponsor a terrorist for citizenship!
Comments: I'd like to add Dr. Jonas Salk to the list of those who did a lot of good worldwide. Louis Pasteur, Marie Curie, Thomas Edison, Marconi, Nicolai Tesla, Jack Kilby -- et al.
Comments: Okay, you guys...Jimmy Carter is a good man..Leave him alone..he has done more good 'world-wide' than any other man, besides Jesus, Gandhi, Buddha, etc. etc. There was a special on PBS last night on Buddha, inspite of the thunderstorms.. You should do as much good as Jimmy...Haa..! So there...!
Comments: You're dead on Sam. This President, just like Jimmy Carter, has no backbone and will eventually make the United States a DOORMAT!
Comments: Note to all the surviving WWII Veterans: You have always been my heroes, and that will always be. And if you want to call those stinking Nazis you fought NAZIS, be my guest. That's what they were, and you can call them that. Of course, had Obama been the president during WWII, it would have probably been changed to "European combatants", or some other crazy, non offensive term. It seems now that he and his team of foreign policy strategists want to do away with words like "jihadists" and terms like "Islamic radicals", and similar words and terms that would cause some to think unkindly of us in defining our foreign policy strategy. Besides being amateurs, these people are nuts. Somehow, a bunch of Chicago thugs trying to invoke world PC just doesn't cut it with me. Our enemy is what it is, a bunch of Islamic, radical, jihadist extremists. What can I say, I'm not politically correct. Raise your hand if you care that I'm not!
Comments: The weatherman...says it's the Pines and Oaks..causing the yellow-green pollen and subsequent sneezing...
Comments: Sam: I've already threatened JS with the first possum, but you can have the second. We caught a squirrel yesterday, but not the injured one. I think it was one of last year's litter. Joan let it go and we reset the trap. It's just a matter of time until we catch our squirrel. We named her Buddy, before we checked her sex. She's still having trouble moving around without being able to use the left hind leg.
Comments: Sharon, I learned how to cut up a chicken by talking real nice to the butcher at Tom Thumb. |
