Hey, y’all. Are we loving this heat? Did you have air conditioning during the early years? We didn’t till later. I’m not sure how we made it!

I definitely recall Becky Estes. A sweet classmate, indeed. I notice her Facebook page is still up (listed as "Becky Hollis"). Has a few pictures of her and the family.

Back in 1955 at Clinton P. Russell I shared the stage with Becky in a presentation during National Education Week. Also, on that stage were the likes of Bill Akins, Sara Fogleman, Clint Austin, Celi Lowrance, Mary McCord, Fred Robinson and about 15 others. The "emcee", who shall remain nameless, (MMM) did a decent job and this specific production was surely the springboard that launched his future "cowboy" career.

Yes, she was a teacher in Arvada, CO, however in her last several years she was a substitute teacher. Loved by the students and teachers as well.

It is with a heavy heart that I am sharing the passing of Rebecca (Becky) Estes Hollis.  After many months of trying to contact her, I talked to a friend of her brother's today.  Becky left us on  September 13, 2018 in Arvado, Colorado following a short stay in the hospital due to an vehicle accident.  Becky was a wonderful and uplifting friend and she will be missed.

I loved Ouida, too. She was such a sweet and nice kid always. It breaks my heart to see how many of us leave the arena every year.

I wish more would chime in on our website. Could be SOC63.com isn't intended to be.

Lynell, I was reading that just the other day. As I went down the list, I was so saddened by all our classmate gone from us. Some very early on too. Some of them I've known since grade school and some I grew up with in Cliff Temple Baptist Church.

I am so glad that I went to the 55th SOC reunion. I visited with my precious, almost lifetime, friend Ouida Ruth Hoyle Rose. She was so pretty, without a gray hair in her head. And, then she was gone.

Hey, what’s everybody up to this summer? I hope y’all are staying cool, and that you didn’t blow away in that storm that hit Dallas a few weeks back. The wind shifted our fence and the wall it’s attached to. This will be a big project to fix. Some days renting sounds like a great idea!

Hi all,

I haven't checked in in a long while. Im reading to catch up. lynell and Sharon R let me know about Gary. He was such a fun, crazy guy in high school. Harriet's right. It is so sad to be losing oir classmates.

All is well here at my house. However, my husband had back surgery 2 weeks ago and I have been his Nurse Ratchet. Thankfully, 2 years ago we put an elevator in our townhouse. That has been a big help. He can now drive and that makes him happy.

It was 94* here in Houston today. How fast the season change from spring to summer ...ugh.

Well happy summer everyone.Im already getting tired of mowing. Looks like I can sit on the porch here in Paris and see it growing.Thank the lord for riding mowers and tractors. I just spoke to my son in Florida .He purchased a house in the panhandle near the beach. He wants Nancy and me to come down and help him pick out paint colors. Really Nancy. Looks like we will have to drive down for a week in the sand and sun in a few weeks. Darn it. I was so looking forward to mowing my yard every week this summer. . Hope you are all doing well!

Hope everyone is okay after the storm.  My neighborhood in south Garland just had a lot of twigs and leaves everywhere, but no major damage.  On my drive to work, which took an hour and 40 minutes due to the signal lights not working, the damage in the Lake Highlands area was devastating.

Stay safe.

Steve, Doug, et al, it’s great to see you young ‘uns drop by and visit! I did not realize Deb was Jeff Bryant’s sister. I thought her claim to fame was to marry a SOC guy! 😜 Best of luck to you with your books. Gotta keep the juices moving.

A 64 grad just dropping by to say hello and say I enjoy visiting your website from time to time. I know none of you but feel like I do reading your contributions. Seeing where some of you are painting I commend you for staying busy. My wife (Deb, sister of the late Jeff Bryant, SOC 62) is of the class of Waxahachie 1970. She and I find it helps greatly in these senior years to stay busy as though we are working(?) and also taking daily walks. She has a craft room and I do my writing. Currently I am writing 3 books and reading at least 5 including the Bible for the 14th time. Since our grandchildren all live so far away, as of course do our children, we are "church people" and stay socially active there and in our senior center in Benbrook. If you have to be a good writer to write I would have quit many years ago but I just keep writing as though someone will read it someday. Hope each of you who are reading this are well and enjoying your senior years as well. Thanks for letting me visit.

recently there was discussion about the poor state of modern music. Well, we all know oldies are the best. And low and behold now comes a chance to hear some oldies, ca. 1791, with a live orchestra and chorus!! That would be this coming Sunday, May 5, at 4pm. at First UMC Church located at 313 Center St. in scenic downtown Arlington, TX.  The concert is free and open to the public. This is your chance to hear a live performance, with orchestra, of Mozart's Requiem. Be there or be square.

I heard from Tim Wright last night. He sounds great! He said to tell y'all he and Lisa are doing great. His problem was just a hiccup in his life that only lasted 14 months. He still has the same positive outlook on life. He went right back to living his life in Georgetown. It was absolutely great to hear from him. I did hear from his after he came back in November 2016; however, his numbers changed.

I hope this question does not muddy the water.  Was talking with Ron Bays and he ask if I ever heard anymore new about Tim Wright.  We know what happened but does anyone know his current status.
