My beautiful mother was Bonnie Fulmer. Memorial services will be held on Friday, June 7, 2013 at 12 noon @ Charles and Sons Funeral Home in Sachse, Texas. She was as beautiful and sweet the day she passed as when yall knew her. Not to mention the best mother and granny the good lord ever gave breath to.

I have so many nice memories of Bonnie. Her mom worked at a store in Lancaster Kiest Shopping Center and was also a precious woman.

I just received news from Ron Fulmer of the passing of his sister, Bonnie Fulmer Baker.  I want to share that with my class.  Does someone have the Den photo of Bonnie that I can include?

Heard from my niece with pictures of the trampoline on the roof.  It looked like the largest satellite dish in the world. It did leave a hole in the roof that has to be repaired, and when it fell off it broke a brick ledge in front of a window.  Fortunately, didn't break the window.  This was the second time for the trampoline to go flying.  The first time was last year but it just landed in the fields.  Now, maybe they will finally get rid of it!

I have distant in-laws in Newcastle, OK. The columns on their front porch were taken out by a flying trampoline. They have no idea who it belongs to or where it came from. Maybe there needs to be a requirement that the owners name and insurance company be attached to these potential flying machines.

Phyllis and Doug, thanks for the support.
Sharon, hoe great that no one was hurt in the trampoline incident. Many years ago we had a patio umbrella. It was loose weave and anchored with a stand that had a bell- shaped base filled with sand. It weighed a gazillion pounds, and when the sand got wet, it weighed more.
During a rainy and windy storm we heard a grating noise on the roof, then a big kerplunk and screeching tires out front. It had flown over the house and into the road. Thank God nobody got hurt.
We sent that umbrella to the landfill.

And on the back of the dust jacket, instead of several blurbs from various people, it can just say "LANELL IS SWELL' and we'll all put our names to it. What a great endorsement !!

Lynell, you can write a book entitled Everything I Know I Learned in Depositions!  As you know, there have been several "Everything I Know..." bestsellers!

My niece and her family live in Blackland which is about half-way between Rockwall and Quinlan.  It is a real nice sub-division about 3 years old and all the lots are over an acre.  But it's like being on the prairie and the wind always blows.  So when they got home from work yesterday afternoon after the storm blew through, they saw that the trampoline was missing.  They found it - on the roof.  I haven't talked to them today, so I'm not sure what other damage they have.  I left work early yesterday and actually got caught in the storm.  Thought several times about turning onto a side street and stopping because it was raining so hard.  But I kept at it and it only took about 10 minutes longer to get home.  There was lots of high water and several busy intersections without lights.

Ouch! Phyllis, I hope you're better today. I learned in architectural depositions that the single unmarked step is the most dangerous because people don't expect or see them. Everything I know about anything, I learned in depositions.

I was sad to see on Facebook that Gene Ellis from the Class of '61 has passed away.

Everyone take care today, and be mindful of the weather.

The Dallas News had a full-page spread a couple of days ago with alot of information about protesting tax evaluations.

On the "senior activities" front.  The deli in our building closed down, so they've been having food trucks come each day.  They park adjacent to the loading dock, so I stepped out onto the dock and proceeded to fall flat on my face:  actually, knees and outstretched hands.  There was a 3 inch -- unmarked -- step down between the door and the dock, which is strange, since items are rolled on dollies from the dock through the door.  It was so pathetic that an extremely pregnant woman came to help me up!  The next day I was really sore.  Now, something weird is going on with my hip, so I'm intermittently limping.  Guess I need to go to one of those fall-prevention classes!

We're having some work done on our pool, so I decided to add a grab bar to help me get out of it.  Would never have thought of such a thing 33 years ago when we had the pool put in!

Oh, I needed that course... Bad ankle, bad knees(since Debs), bad 'back and hips'...etc. I lose count. I've been falling since my 30's..I started early with the ankle. Was on crutches, at one time, while teaching in Nashville, because of the ankle.. Have allergies and 'inner ear' problems(every once in a while). I may be a lost cause. I hang on to my 'cane' now. Gave the first one to my sister, but every once in a while, the need arises..to use that thing. I could use another nerve block, but now we have to watch those 'pharmaceutical companies', that have contaminated meds, that are used in those 'nerve blocks'. In between the 'ailments', life can still be good..
Getting old is not always fun..I appreciate the experience and knowledge that I have gained, although the aches and pains...are not fun...

"Senior Activities" has taken on a new meaning!

On Channel 8 news this morning they were talking about classes for senior citizens, like how to avoid falling. Cynthia Izaguirre said her MOTHER was 68! I pulled the cover back over my head.

I am still on HCAD, Lynell is correct, bring photos, receipts and in Harris County 4 copies of everything if you go to formal hearing. They are approx. 15 minutes from beginning to end. Go to HCAD website and use their info and FAQ. This is my 6th and last year as it is a term limited position.
