Comments: Peaches asked me to post this for her: . "Can you please post this for me to Jim Evans. I have tried to called the numbers we had listed for Houston Winn. There are disconnected. I have sent him a email letting him know you are looking for him. If I get an answer back, I will let you know. He was living in Orlanda FL last information we had.” (Peaches said the email came back, unable to deliver,)
Comments: Hi I forget to check in here occasionally. Sharon Reeves, i hope all is well with you. I miss seeng you. And, i really want to see folks this year. I hope plans are in the works for a '63 reunion this year and that you come Sharon. God willing, I'm planning on attending this time.
Comments: Attempting to find Houston Winn (Wynn) would have been a '63 graduate, his sister was Nancy, class of 59 or 60. Family friend from late fifties.
Comments: Merry Christmas, everyone! ![]()
Comments: Peaches - Sorry it took a week to tell you what a great time we had at your Christmas Party!! It was beautiful as always and the company was great. Thank you for opening your beautiful home each year to all your friends and providing us with an avenue to visit and catch up with one another. Good food, good friends and good time!
Comments: Sharon, I know you saw to it your mom had a great birthday. I hope Steve is feeling better. You were missed yesterday. It was a great party, as always. I posted a few pictures on my FB page.
Comments: I missed seeing everyone yesterday at the party. I know you all had a wonderful time. It was my mom's 99th birthday and Steve didn't feel well at all, so I thought it better to stay home. Love you all. Sharon
Comments: Cherish every day. Randy Talbot, '62, passed away during last night.

Comments: Peaches, are you having another SOC Christmas luncheon this year?
Comments: Please donate what ever you can. Every little bit adds up. Something like this could happen to any of us. Sharlene is such a beautiful person inside and out. Let's support her!
Comments: This is the link for Sharlene and Jack Alexander. They have lost everything in the fire. The fire spared their garage what're Sharlene had somer off season clothing, but everything else is gone. I can't imagine what they are going through. https://www.gofundme.com/fire-recovery-for-the-alexanders
Comments: Lynell, that is devasting for Sharlene! As a class, please, those than can please contribute to the Go Fund for them. Lynell, let us know know if we can do anything else for her.
Comments: sorry, Lynell, I reread your post and it was just 4 hours ago.
Comments: Lynell, did you find out the information for the Go Fund for Sharlene.
Comments: Lynell, did you find out the information for the Go Fund for Sharlene.
Comments: I hope everyone's loved ones in California are all safe. Our friend and classmate Sharlene Houghtaling Alexander has lost everything to the fire. She, her husband Jack and their cat named Monkey are safe, but they have lost all their worldly possessions. A friend was setting up a GoFundMe page for them. I will post it as soon as I know the name of it. What a heartbreak, but the good news is they are okay.
Comments: The former guestbook. http://soc63.com/images/SOC63_Guestbook.pdf
Comments: I have family that are completely encircled by the fires in California and cannot evacuate, they are in Oroville. Other family in Fair Oaks. Has anyone heard if Mike Richmond is ok. I knew he sold his winery in Napa/Sonora, knew he still lived in the area. Just wondering.
Comments: Our house in Port O'Connor only lost a downspout and part of a gutter. We were very blessed. Less than 20 miles south, in Seadrift, it was a different story. Lots of damage. POC had a lot of fences down, boat sheds destroyed, roofs damaged and a couple of trailer parks with a lot of damaged trailers. Power was out a week. We only had a 4' storm surge which was a lot less than the 12' predicted. Sunday Beach out on Matagorda Island is now Sunday Pass. Storm completely washed away beach and made another entrance to Matagorda Bay.
Comments: I am concerned about SOCites in fire and flood areas. I hope all are well and up to handling whatever has been thrown at them. Life can be too hard.
Comments: To Phyllis and Sharon, Happy Belated Birthdays. You both share your day with my daughter and Beverly Duvall Haas. I think I should start a backwards birthday, each year we are age we were the year before until we reach 21. ![]()
Comments: I was talking to a colleague in Tampa Florida this morning. She said that a lot of her coworkers were without power, but that -- otherwise -- they felt like they had "dodged a bullet."
Comments: Steve's brother and his family live in Baytown. Thankfully, they weren't flooded, but it was impossible to get to work. The shop where he works had a couple of feet of water but they have managed to get it cleaned up and ready. Let's pray for everyone in the path of Irma.
Comments: Happy Belated Birthday to you, too, Sharon. With all the Hurricane concerns, it totally slipped up on me this year. Hope you had a good one and that you and yours are safe and dry. ![]()
Comments: Phyllis, Happy Belated Birthday!
Comments: As far as I know, our South Texas SOCites are all high and dry. . I saw in today's Dallas Morning News that Mr. Don Presley has passed away. He taught eighth grade English at Boude Storey.
Comments: I spoke to John earlier in the week and he said they were not having any problems. Of course, they have had more rain. I got a text message from my cousin, Jan , and she said they were fine. I have a niece in Mason and she said they could take care of any cattle that are flooded. I plan to go back to Port O'Connor next week. Got a message from the Improvement District today that they have lifted the "Boil water" requirement and all the toilets are now flushing. In looking at security cameras, it appears that there might be a little water in the garage. The cameras have been off until today. |
