Comments: This is a huge Thank You to everyone who turned out this morning for Brandon's memorial service. There were several SOCites there, along with family from both sides of his family, along with quite a few college friends of his and Katie, a lot of folks from our church, a group from the Patriot Guard Riders and the Texas Fishing Forum, friends of mine and Donna. One of his college buddies drove down from Minnesota because he was afraid the airline might not get him here in time. Donna and I were overwhelmed! We've never seen so many people in our church before. It was standing room only! God Bless You All!!

Comments: Bill and Donna, What awful news. I am without words. Prayers for healing for the entire family.
Comments: This is the hardest post I have ever had to make. Brandon's body just could not recover from the trauma, and he died this evening at 6:29 p.m.
Comments: Below is from Bill Akins. He has posted on Facebook and the prayer room. Please start praying for his family. Bill and Donna have always prayed for us during of our time of need
Comments: My son Brandon was in a serious car wreck last week. The airbag failed to deploy and his face hit the steering wheel and the dash. Left jaw was broken and his mouth is all messed up. In addition, he had an abscess pop up on his brain requiring brain surgery to clear that up. He seemed to be doing well until this morning, He suddenly became totally non-responsive - eyes open b and gasping for air but no response at all to shaking him or talking to him. They had the rapid response team work on him for about 30 minutes in his room and got him intubated. He was then sedated to keep him calm for the rest of the day. CT scans showed swelling of the brain. And now his eyes are dilated and non-responsive. More scans to try to find the cause for the problem, but it's not looking too good at all. Please pray for Brandon, his wife Katie, and our grandkids Elizabeth and William. Plus, for me and Donna and the medical team attending to him. I know there are some fierce prayer warriors in this group and when I've asked in the past I felt God's touch.
Comments: I read in my church email Robert Chaney died March 8, 2026. I am in Italy and then Switzerland. I will post if I get more details.
Comments: I remember Donnie Lawson and Albert Lawson from the days in Hillcrest Baptist Church. I never would have imagined that I would soon be 80 years old and in good shape. Reminded of a night when Roger Davis and I raced thru the streets around Davis Ave in a corvette as speed was our goal.

Comments: Our class of 1965 lost two young men as well this week, Donnie Lawson and Steve Tenpenny. Prayers are for those left behind who will miss their loved ones at this time. Still feels like yesterday we were all laughing at each other from our past reunions, and looking around the room, the crowd gets a little smaller each day. God Bless our high school friends.
Comments: Sad to hear. Wayne was a great guy, always enjoyed talking with him at reunions . RIP Wayne🙏
Comments: Sadly another name has been added to our list of SOC ‘63 Angels. Kevin Zablosky has posted this on Facebook: "Tracy and myself wanted to share that our father Olin Wayne Zablosky passed away peacefully Monday evening February 23rd.
Comments: Did you know if you scroll down to the bottom of this page you’ll find links to every page of guestbook posts. There are 274 pages in all, going back 16 years!
Comments: We said goodbye to Sharon Reeves yesterday. At her graveside service were quite a few family and friends and a few folks from the SOC Class of '63 (Me and Donna, Pat Vessels, Peaches and Gary Deatherage.) Lots of Sharon stories and tales were told. As most of us know she was always laughing and telling tales about herself, even until the final few days. She was what my mom and grandmother would have called "a Hoot"!) Sharon, you will be missed by many!

Comments: I received a call from Wayne Zablosky today. He fell at his home and went to the hospital for 7 days. He did not break any bones. His feet and legs are not working good so he is in rehab now. He said he is doing well. Let’s pray for ac rapid recovery! 🍑🍑
Comments: https://www.restlandfuneralhome.com/obituaries/sharon-reeves-4 I am not sure how to do this obit for Sharon Reeves. If this does not work, go to my Facebook page. Grave side service February 13 at 10:00 am Restland on Greenville in Dallas, Texas
Comments: I had not seen Larry in years but I can still remember when we were playing football at Zumwalt. We were the slowest guys on the team and when Coach Hodge would have us run laps, Larry and I were always the last to finish. He was a good friend and I only wish that we had stayed in touch over the years.
Comments: I'm sorry to hear about Larry. I last saw him quite a few years ago in Midlothian, where he was the pastor of a small Baptist church. Donna and I drove over one Wednesday evening and got to visit with him for quite a while. RIP Larry.
Comments: Charlotte, I am truly sad for your great loss of the love of your life. You two built a strong foundation of love and happiness during your 60 years of marriage. I always thought you were such an adorable couple!! I know the horrible pain and emptiness you are feeling. I have no words of wisdom to ease that pain but I promise Jesus will be with you and hold you tight! Know I love you, dear friend!! I am here if you need to talk or anything!
Comments: I just learned of the passing of another classmate, Larry Pool. I shared a post on Facebook from his grand daughter. If I learn of any details I will post. I did not get to know him as an adult but he was a super teenager and so smart!
Comments: I’m saddened at the news of Sharon‘s death. I just loved her. She was a special person. Pat, thank you so much for your words of sympathy.
Comments: Lost my best friend, Sharon, and Roommate from North Texas. What a special person she was and I can still see that sweet smile she freely gave to everyone. I did get to see her in December with Peaches and we had two great visits - laughing like high school girls. Rest in peace Sharon, my friend. Charlotte - I remember how sweet you and your husband were to Jerry and I when we moved to Denton so Jerry could finish his last semester at North Texas. I'm sorry to hear of his passing. I know, because it happened to me, God will take care of you. God Bless and keep you. |
