Comments: I am so sad to hear about Sharon. She and I became friends on the first day of classes when were in the same homeroom at Boude Storey, 8th grade. Prayers for her family.
Comments: It is with great sadness, that I inform y’all that Sharon Reeves passed away Friday, January 23rd at 6:00 pm. Her niece and family were with her when she took her last breath. Sharon had been struggling with COPD and congestive heart failure for a few years. I am very sad for this loss of another dear friend. Pat Vessels and I visited her twice in the early fall. I treasure those times.
Comments: Carol and I send our condolences and prayers for family and friends
Comments: Sending our sincere condolences to Charlotte and family in the loss of her husband. Prayers sent up.
Comments: On January 14, 2026, J. Terry Strange, husband of our dear friend and classmate Charlotte Anders Strange, passed away unexpectedly in Houston. Charlotte and Terry were married more than sixty years. Everyone who knew Terry loved and respected him, and his loss will be felt by many. A memorial will take place at a later time.
Comments: For Bill Akins: I've been successfully managing the same heart problem/issue for years so it is a "kick ass" effort for sure. I have four stents, a TAVR (Aortic Valve Replacement), A-FIB 75% of the time and Aortic Stenosis. Guess I am the new version of biotic. It is a pain, both literally and figuratively but I'm still on the pretty side of the grass. Remember the end of the SOC Fight Song was Fight, Fight, Fight and that's what we do. Good luck sir and prayers for you from South Carolina (just moved here from Upstate Snowy NY).
Comments: Sandy Lynn, ‘66, posted this on FB: "Sheryl Bunyard just gave me her sister's Memorial Info. Donna Bunyard"s Memorial will be Saturday, January 17th @ 11:00am. Vista Ridge United Methodist Church. 2901 Denton Tap Rd. Lewisville, TX 75067. Donna was SOC '64."
Comments: Peaches, just a note to let you know I check in once a week to see what's new on the Guestbook. Hope all have a year than 2025!
Comments: I saw on FB that Donna Bunyard from ‘64 has entered hospice.
Comments: Of course, mecca has different definitions.
Comments: Bill, I haven’t checked in on the site as I should. I’m praying for you as you continue. Your lifestyle change. You’ve got this!🙏🏻 Barry, I am shocked. And, I will do my best to contact both. There is no respect or good manners anymore among young people or, people in general. Even if parents don’t, teachers should guide them as they should. However, I’m not sure the teachers even have manners or the respect needed to teach. This is so depressing.
Comments: Happy New year! I'm going to gripe a little. I watched some of the high school playoffs and noticed that the Golden Bears had "Mecca" on their helmets. I contacted the UIL and Dallas ISD about this and how it is sending the wrong message to the students. Surprisingly I got prompt replies from both and said they would look into it. It might help if others complained about this, so I am challenging you to contact both the UIL and the Dallas ISD. After the SOC - Willis game, fights broke out and police from Dallas, Fair Park and DPS had to break up the fights. The teams also did not walk across the field and shake hands after the game. Very disappointing.
Comments: I'm still around and post every now and then. A special thanks to all who reached out to me and/or Donna during my recent hospital stay. I have been diagnosed with congestive heart failure and spent four days in the ER/hospital. This will require a review and some significant changes in my lifestyle. It can't be cured, only managed. I will be looking to kick its ass!
Comments: Happy New Year to all ! Please post your name on this site to let us know you are reading. You don’t have to say anything.
Comments: A happy and healthy New Year!
Comments: Bill Akiins went home this morning from the hospital. Please keep them in your prayers. Happy and safe 2026!!🍑🍑
Comments: Sandy King has passed away. Marilyn Rogers Briggs informed me. They were best friends from junior high and high school. Then they married brothers. Classmates, keep in touch on this website. Life is too short now to miss out.
Comments: I just received a call from Donna Akins. Bill is in the hospital at Arlington Memorial Hospital Room 5024. He has been diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure. They are treating him and he is doing well. I believe in the power of prayer. Let’s all pray for him and Donna. This was a scare of course.
Comments: Christmas Eve at our house is over and the kids and grandkids have gone home. It's so quiet. Gifts exchanged, lots of good food consumed, Christmas Eve church service is finished. Donna and I want to wish all our SOC friends and their families a Very Merry Christmas.

Comments: Burl Hintz passed away last night. He will be cremated and a celebration of his life will be held after the New Year.
Comments: I remember Burl as the big Sports Figure but didn't know him naturally but, Oh My Goodness, these things are a part of our life and one becomes increasingly aware of the sad goings-on. Thank you Tanya for the update; I appreciate you being the source of lots of news.
Comments: We talked with Gene Bolinger this am, he stated Burl Hintz, class of 62, is in hospice care now and if any of his old friends want to visit him, to go now. He may not communicate back but will hear you talking and may give a smile if talking about football. Gene said he may last only a few days now. Keep Burl and his wife Ann in your prayers. |
