Comments: I'm with you on that Peaches!! Danny keep up the hard work! Aging is NOT for sissies!!!
Comments: Glad I am not in that category.....I never broke a SOC boy's heart!
Comments: Dr. Ken Haas Proctor.... I'm not buying the SOC Girl 'thingie'... but it is funny... Besides, you sue 'em...you would 'nevah, nevah, nevah' COLLECT on the 'Romantic Thing'...!
Comments: Daniel Green.....having not had the opportunity to review my inheritance amount in your will, I must invoke my rights to forbid you from going to the Big Den in the sky. Dr Proctor assures me I have the authority. Hang in there, buddy. As usual, however, your big brain is working away and has come up with a brilliant idea. Since your heart may have been negatively impacted by a former SOC lady, and since there is a long line of us guys who suffered the same fate, I propose a class action lawsuit....SOC Boys vs SOC Girls. We will seek medical, financial, and if possible, romantic awards from those female offenders. Justice will prevail. GO BEARS!
Comments: My sweet mother, Loraine, would say.....it is called our "Golden" years but its is really or "Rusty" years. She is so wise! Danny, you are in my prayers and will remain. I am so sorry for all your health issues now. Our Lord and Savior is in control.
Comments: Danny G., it is definitely "pouring" in your neck of the woods. Dru and I are so sorry to hear of your latest medical setback (Bell's Palsy). We have a friend who went through that. It arrived overnight but resolved itself in two months. However, in the meantime he had to deal with a dry eye and the peculiar stares of his co-workers.
Comments: Danny, hang in there. My mom had Bell's palsy after a minor stroke. It disappeared after a few months. Prayers with you bud!
Comments: I see two therapist. an Ocupational Therapist & a Speech Ttherapis at Methodist Rehab Center, these ladies are great. I am making great progress with my left hand, & reading & voice treatments. I look forward to going to therapy 3 days a veek. Thursday I get a difebulator implanted on my leeft side. Today was not a good day at my Speech Therapist. She found that I was showing signs of coming down with "Bell's Palsy". Went back to Chsrlton Methodist. Found out My face will temporarily be skewed to the left. when it rains it pours. They sent me home.Thank You Lord for my Loving Wife & wonderful care taker, Linda. Thank you all for your Prayers. GO SOC.
Comments: It is with deep regret that one of the nicest people I have ever met in my life has passed away__ Pete Seeger. He once told me that I need to buy his book and to learn to play the banjo. Given my musical ability, I thought are you talking to the wrong person. However, over the years the ideal has become more appealing to me. I am just grateful that he didn't pass away on my birthday. Pete Seeger was ninety-four years old and a great American.
Comments: Do not apologize for your comment....all the "celebs", self made or not, go into rehab if they make fools of themselves...D R is no exception. Sheesh! So sorry so many of you have been I'll. Bad news Sharon after so many years....I think many folks are getting this news these day..so sorry. Part time gives employers an out for many things...sigh! It is brrrrr cold down here in H land....Jack Frost needs to take a break!!!!!
Comments: The wheels of Doctors & medicine continue to turn in my life. I feel great but the Doctors tell me,I have avery week Heart & very soon will have adefibulator installed or implanted. I told my cardilogist it was one of our SOCLadies who broke my heart not too long ago...50 years or so.Thank You all for your Prayers & phone calls. . I will survive this. I Love you all...... Peaches, Connie, Harriet, Lynell & David, Roger, Drew & John S. & Maddox & Arzella Starks Liberto in mabank Tx.
Comments: Dear Lynell: I am actually feeling somewhat better; thank you. Sorry for the delay in responding, but have been super-busy and haven't been back to the site. I have a doctor's appointment today, so should know more soon. On a totally-unrelated note, the new Wal*Mart -- at I-35 and Ledbetter -- has a "SOC Boutique;" OK, they sell SOC T-Shirts; you may have seen the item on Channel 8 News. It's a nice store. Sorry about the Dennis Rodman comment. I heard he is now in alcohol rehab, which is no joking matter.
Comments: Thanks for the kind words. I actually tested negative for the flu, but my doctor told me that 1 in 5 tests negative when they really have it (2 deaths in the area for that reason) and that as far as he was concerned, mine was a classic case. Thank goodness for his diagnosis and not relying on the test. I hate to think what I may have had if it wasn't the flu. I am getting better each day. Also, returned to work to find out that my employer wants me to go part-time asap. Going to have to think through this one after 17 years. Way too far to commute 5 days a week for 1/2 pay.
Comments: sorry about the typo weather.
Comments: Sharon, I am glad you are recovering from the flu. I heard on the news today that fifty-one people have died from the flu in the Dallas area. (Mostly young people). I try to avoid large groups and crowds this time of the year. Every time I hear where the Olympics are being held I think of our high school. SOC HI. Everyone enjoy our one day of beautiful wether.
Comments: Sharon, welcome back to the world. Sorry you were sick. Flu needs a new name, because "flu" doesn't sound nearly as fierce as the ailment is. Take care of yourself!
Comments: Well, I have rejoined the living after a week with the flu. I'm at work but not sure how long I'll be here. When you have COPD, getting the flu is not the greatest thing to happen to you. The last time I felt this bad was when I had pneumonia a few years ago. From one a little late, go get that flu shot!
Comments: Phyllis, how are you feeling?
Comments: Dear Peaches: The mystery caller that you could not understand might have been Dennis Rodman!
Comments: I received a phone call a few days ago and could not understand who it was from or what they were saying.......a female....just in case it is one of our SOCities....call back and leave a phone number. I suspect it someone from our class.
Comments: Congratulations Kathleen and Bill!
Comments: Kathleen, Congratulations on your & Bill's 46th Anniversary the other day!! Wow, that is a long time and a testament to y'alls commitment. And to think, you got married on his B-day! I've seen a lot of AFV videos of people at weddings & b-days and their hair catches on fire. It's funny on the video, but if it's YOUR hair . . . it's not so funny!! How scary!!! Glad your quick thinking friend got it out quickly.
Comments: Thanks Donna for the congratulations. Bill and I enjoyed our anniversary. I almost had an unfortunate accident when my friend was lighting the candles. My hair caught on fire. Due to her quick thinking she put out the fire, with almost no damage to me. It was really freaky the way a spark blew into my hair because I wasn't sitting that close to her when she was lighting the candles. I was upset the rest of the night, but grateful to God for looking out for me.
Comments: Dear Kathleen, Congratulations on your anniversary! Hughie and I celebrated our 46th on December 23rd. Our daughter, Tina, asked how I had managed to keep up with her Dad all of those years. I told her "just one day at a time". I don't worry about the past, or think about tomorrow. The present is all The Lord and I can handle together. I have always thought of my Sweetheart as a gift to cherish. Hope everyone's New Year brings good things, good times and prosperity to all. Love, Donna Gwin Libhart
Comments: Thank you all SO much! What kind words, and I really appreciate them. I'm particularly looking forward to a portion of that $5,000 per day! T.J. Maxx, here I come!
Comments: Happy Birthday Lynell, Sandy Lynn is right you do look ever young. Tomorrow is Bill's birthday and our 46th Wedding Anniversary. It is hard to believe we have been together so many years.
