Daniel Green.....having not had the opportunity to review my inheritance amount in your will, I must invoke my rights to forbid you from going to the Big Den in the sky. Dr Proctor assures me I have the authority. Hang in there, buddy.
As usual, however, your big brain is working away and has come up with a brilliant idea. Since your heart may have been negatively impacted by a former SOC lady, and since there is a long line of us guys who suffered the same fate, I propose a class action lawsuit....SOC Boys vs SOC Girls. We will seek medical, financial, and if possible, romantic awards from those female offenders. Justice will prevail. GO BEARS!

Danny, you are in my prayers and will remain. I am so sorry for all your health issues now. Our Lord and Savior is in control.

Danny G., it is definitely "pouring" in your neck of the woods. Dru and I are so sorry to hear of your latest medical setback (Bell's Palsy). We have a friend who went through that. It arrived overnight but resolved itself in two months. However, in the meantime he had to deal with a dry eye and the peculiar stares of his co-workers.

Wish you the best of luck with your defibrillator procedure. This business of getting older & our "golden years" ain't all it's cracked up to be (ha).

It is with deep regret that one of the nicest people I have ever met in my life has passed away__ Pete Seeger.  He once told me that I need to buy his book and to  learn to play the banjo.  Given my musical ability,  I thought are you talking to the wrong person.  However, over the years the ideal has become more appealing to me.  I am just  grateful that he didn't pass away on my birthday.  Pete Seeger was ninety-four years old and a great American.

Dear Lynell:

I am actually feeling somewhat better; thank you.  Sorry for the delay in responding, but have been super-busy and haven't been back to the site.  I have a doctor's appointment today, so should know more soon.

On a totally-unrelated note, the new Wal*Mart -- at I-35 and Ledbetter -- has a "SOC Boutique;" OK, they sell SOC T-Shirts; you may have seen the item on Channel 8 News.  It's a nice store.

Sorry about the Dennis Rodman comment.  I heard he is now in alcohol rehab, which is no joking matter.

Thanks for the kind words.  I actually tested negative for the flu, but my doctor told me that 1 in 5 tests negative when they really have it (2 deaths in the area for that reason) and that as far as he was concerned, mine was a classic case.  Thank goodness for his diagnosis and not relying on the test.  I hate to think what I may have had if it wasn't the flu.  I am getting better each day.  Also, returned to work to find out that my employer wants me to go part-time asap.  Going to have to think through this one after 17 years.  Way too far to commute 5 days a week for 1/2 pay.

Sharon,  I am glad you are recovering from the flu.  I heard on the news today that fifty-one people have died from the flu in the Dallas area.  (Mostly young people).  I try to avoid large groups and crowds this time of the year.  Every time I hear where the Olympics are being held I think of our high school.  SOC HI.  Everyone enjoy our one day of beautiful wether.

Sharon, welcome back to the world. Sorry you were sick. Flu needs a new name, because "flu" doesn't sound nearly as fierce as the ailment is. Take care of yourself!

Well, I have rejoined the living after a week with the flu.  I'm at work but not sure how long I'll be here.  When you have COPD, getting the flu is not the greatest thing to happen to you.  The last time I felt this bad was when I had pneumonia a few years ago.  From one a little late, go get that flu shot!

Kathleen, Congratulations on your & Bill's 46th Anniversary the other day!!  Wow, that is a long time and a testament to y'alls commitment.  And to think, you got married on his B-day!

I've seen a lot of AFV videos of people at weddings & b-days and their hair catches on fire.  It's funny on the video, but if it's YOUR hair . . . it's not so funny!!  How scary!!!  Glad your quick thinking friend got it out quickly.

Thanks Donna for the congratulations.  Bill and I enjoyed our anniversary.  I almost had an unfortunate accident when my friend was lighting the candles.  My hair caught on fire.  Due to her quick thinking she put  out the fire, with almost no damage to me.  It was really freaky the way a spark blew into my hair because I wasn't sitting that close to her when she was lighting the candles.   I was upset the rest of the night, but grateful to God for looking out for me.

Dear Kathleen,
Congratulations on your anniversary!  Hughie and I celebrated our 46th on December 23rd.  Our daughter, Tina, asked how I had managed to keep up with her Dad all of those years.  I told her "just one day at a time".  I don't worry about the past, or think about tomorrow.  The present is all The Lord and I can handle together.  I have always thought of my Sweetheart as a gift to cherish.

Hope everyone's New Year brings good things, good times and prosperity to all.
Love, Donna Gwin Libhart
