Comments: I like Winter..! Texas doesn't have enough winter.. Especially North and Central Texas.. More than that...Texas doesn't have enough rain..Never enough rain.. I remember the 2 yrs I spent at Baylor...63-65. we carried our umbrellas to class on Mondays.. It would 'Rain'... A front would move through every weekend.. Now...there's not enough rain..! No rain and this 'up and down' weather makes for more pollen and ups the problems with 'Mold' in Texas.. Texas first needs more rain and then you need a consistent winter... Somebody on FB has termed Texas' weather as 'BiPolar weather'... Well, yeah.. People would have less illness if the weather was consistent in Texas and I don't mean 'hot' either.. One lady, here in Central Texas, termed the problem...Texas is returning to the Desert..! Gee, I hope not..
Comments: Sharon, Did you see the four year old lithe boy who was shoveling snow and took time out long enough to shout at the heavens "Jesus make it warm." I couldn't agree with him more.
Comments: I'm wondering the same thing, Peaches. I have watched about 20 minutes of the Olympics since it started. Just some ice dancing, which was really pretty. I'm ready for some warm weather. I don't mind the rain, since we really need it, but I want warm rain. The bout I had with the flu left me with absolutely no energy, so I need warm weather to pep me up.

Comments: Kathleen, I'm going to miss Jay Leno so much! We always get into bed by 10:30 & catch his monologue. I think NBC is so crazy as they keep trying to get rid of the #1 late night talk show host! Conan bombed last time & Jay came back and saved them. I've watched Jimmy Fallen a lot and I believe he will do the show proud. He is multitalented and is really funny. Jay has been so gracious and so has Jimmy. Wish them both the best and hope I'm still a Tonight Show fan 6 months from now.

Comments: Hope all of you are keeping warm. I don't think the weather people expected this much snow. This is the last night of the Jay Leno Show. He is being replaced because NBC wants to attract a younger audience and Jay is too old. He is 63. I am sure going to miss him.
Comments: I have a red coat left in my closet from the SOC annual Christmas luncheon. Anyone claim it?
Comments: The celebration of Dan Rose's life yesterday was remarkable. I knew he was a great teacher, husband, father and father-in-law and Christian man but WOW all the other people whose lives he touched........what a tribute!!!!!! What a caring, unselfish remarkable man Dan was and Shirley (his wife) still is!!!!!!! I am so glad I was there to learn so much more about who Dan Rose was. He indeed has a legacy. So many lives touched by the man who chose to use his talents and his winning ways to make a difference. Ed Artmann, Pat Fowler and Sam Pugh were also there. Great seeing them again.
Comments: The Memorial service for Mr. Rose is tonight ( Tuesday) at Cliff Temple Baptist Church. starts at 4pm. The address is 125 Sunset st. Dallas tx. 75208. phone 214-942-8601 The viewing was last night. Sunset is near Jefferson and Beckley in Oak Cliff.

Comments: I received a friend request on FB from Mary MCCord. Someone hacked her account. I was already friends and didn't delete or unfriend after her passing.
Comments: Make that 76 years old.
Comments: I just realized that Mr Rose was 77 when he left this world. Think about how young he was when we were at SOC. I thought the teachers were OLD.

Comments: What a nice, down-to-Earth teacher Mr. Rose was. He was nice to everyone. May he rest in peace and may his loved ones find comfort in sweet memories.

Comments: Eddie Rose with Shirley Hosier Rose He's finally home. Dr. Daniel A. Rose went home to be with his Savior and Lord last night in his sleep. He loved everyone of you. More information will be posted as it is available. Day 43 - his battle is over. July 16, 1937 - February 1, 2014. 
Comments: I've figured out that ripening ain't for wimps! Danny, hang in there, bud. David's cousin had Bell's palsy from out of nowhere. It went away in a few weeks, as yours will also. Don't believe I ever broke any hearts along my romantic trail.

Comments: Daniel Green.....having not had the opportunity to review my inheritance amount in your will, I must invoke my rights to forbid you from going to the Big Den in the sky. Dr Proctor assures me I have the authority. Hang in there, buddy. As usual, however, your big brain is working away and has come up with a brilliant idea. Since your heart may have been negatively impacted by a former SOC lady, and since there is a long line of us guys who suffered the same fate, I propose a class action lawsuit....SOC Boys vs SOC Girls. We will seek medical, financial, and if possible, romantic awards from those female offenders. Justice will prevail. GO BEARS!
Comments: My sweet mother, Loraine, would say.....it is called our "Golden" years but its is really or "Rusty" years. She is so wise! Danny, you are in my prayers and will remain. I am so sorry for all your health issues now. Our Lord and Savior is in control.
Comments: Danny G., it is definitely "pouring" in your neck of the woods. Dru and I are so sorry to hear of your latest medical setback (Bell's Palsy). We have a friend who went through that. It arrived overnight but resolved itself in two months. However, in the meantime he had to deal with a dry eye and the peculiar stares of his co-workers.
Comments: Danny, hang in there. My mom had Bell's palsy after a minor stroke. It disappeared after a few months. Prayers with you bud!
Comments: I see two therapist. an Ocupational Therapist & a Speech Ttherapis at Methodist Rehab Center, these ladies are great. I am making great progress with my left hand, & reading & voice treatments. I look forward to going to therapy 3 days a veek. Thursday I get a difebulator implanted on my leeft side. Today was not a good day at my Speech Therapist. She found that I was showing signs of coming down with "Bell's Palsy". Went back to Chsrlton Methodist. Found out My face will temporarily be skewed to the left. when it rains it pours. They sent me home.Thank You Lord for my Loving Wife & wonderful care taker, Linda. Thank you all for your Prayers. GO SOC.
Comments: It is with deep regret that one of the nicest people I have ever met in my life has passed away__ Pete Seeger. He once told me that I need to buy his book and to learn to play the banjo. Given my musical ability, I thought are you talking to the wrong person. However, over the years the ideal has become more appealing to me. I am just grateful that he didn't pass away on my birthday. Pete Seeger was ninety-four years old and a great American.
Comments: Do not apologize for your comment....all the "celebs", self made or not, go into rehab if they make fools of themselves...D R is no exception. Sheesh! So sorry so many of you have been I'll. Bad news Sharon after so many years....I think many folks are getting this news these day..so sorry. Part time gives employers an out for many things...sigh! It is brrrrr cold down here in H land....Jack Frost needs to take a break!!!!! |
