Comments: Geo Johnny: I owed you a 'drink' and was prepared to pay up at the Reunion. In your absence I got my beautiful wife an extra glass of wine (yours). It put her over the top.  Since I was such a shy and bashful 'unknown' at SOC, most folks didn't know me and I DO understand. Well, my normally bashful bride of 10 years decided (after your glass of wine) to drag me (literally) to many groups of our classmates and say, "Hi, I'm Linda, you remember my husband Mike?" What a hoot she was and if she embarrassed anyone, I apologize but I had a ball, albeit a bit blushing (like the color of her wine).It was so good to meet some old (new) friends and chat. Again John, you missed a grand event. Funny though, by 11:00pm I was ready for my bed. Hmmmmm.  BTW, my shy bride has her 40th in two years; We are going, AND I do have a surprise for her. Like me, she was shy, bashful and was a bit of an "unknown" in 1976 . Paybacks are gonna be beautiful. I just can't get our 50th out of my mind. Too bad I live in the Northeast. I'd love to attend more of our gatherings. What a wonderful group of classmates we have.

Comments: Gary's older brother Claude Jr just passed away today.
Comments: John, Unable to Locate means exactly that. We have lost all contact with that person. If we do not have another phone number listed to try to find you, then you are Unable to Locate. Before a person is put on the Unable to Locate list we call all numbers we have. There may be some listed as Unable to Locate that are deceased. Our Committee feels we have kept a very good list throughout the years of those who want to be found. It saddens me to put someone on that Unable to Located list. If someone wants to try to track down lost people, go for it...all help is greatly appreciated!
Comments: I received my new Class Directory in the mail yesterday and have read every page of it. Well done! It was surprising to see so many listed as "Unable to locate". You'd think in the internet age it would be difficult to NOT be found. Does "Unable to locate" mean just that or is it the secret code for "Don't list my information"? Did I notice Jewell Bond has a new last name? Belated best wishes!

Comments: It was a fantastic 50th Reunion! The entire ballroom full of SOCites, family, friends and teachers helping us celebrate. Friday night Hunter's Lounge was full and so much hugging, talking and laughter filled the room. I think I did get to talk to everyone that night even if just for a few minutes. Sharon Maddux Cuff and her husband came both nights. She had never been to one of our reunions. I really think they had a good time and will be back. We had several who had not been for years and came to check us out. The Class of 1963 (as I said Saturday night) is truly a GREAT class!!!! We have celebrated 50 years of Golden Friendships and memories since we left high school. We have created many memories by sharing, caring, talking and listening to each. We have cried together and laughed together. The Class of 1963 has so many wonderful memories and continue to create more memories.

Comments: Okay, okay...I wasn't criticizing the photo taking. I know some said DO NOT TAKE MY PHOTO...(bad sports) and I know there are more to come...AND I know how hard it is to walk around catching photo ops. Like Lynell said...I hope there will be an official set up next gathering to make it easier for the photographer. We have glorious rain down south way. Yay!!!
Comments: Thanks, Lonnie. I'll wait to post the rest until I get them all. People are going to say they don't know who these people are, so they'll need to zoom in and look at the name tags. Maybe we should have had a system like the old pictures with Santa Clause, with a number displayed, and a form to fill out. I know how labor intensive your job is, and I appreciate your work!
Comments: Yes it was very difficult to photograph everyone. I tried to catch everyone in the video though. I had no formal setup for doing photos. So it was helter-skelter. I have more to send to Lynell as I get them processed. Also some folks did not want their photograph to be made and some did not turn out very good.
Comments: PS It didn't hurt that I won a bear and a Silver dollar!
Comments: I had reservations about attending ,but am glad I did. I enjoyed hearing what old classmates were doing. It is amazing to me the longer you talked they became younger. Peaches and her committee did a great job! Well done!
Comments: I hope at the 70th Lonnie can set up a photo booth and take pics. it's difficult to walk around and try to remember who has had their picture taken and who hasn't. When Lonnie gets through editing, we can buy a DVD. I took a few pictures, but most were awful because of the lighting and operator errors! Linny Jones, Mike Peters, the Pultes, Bill Akins and many others were missed.
Comments: I enjoyed seeing the photos. But, where are all the 100s? Didn't more men come? So many duplicate pics of woman and not many of the guys. Oh well, I guess need to come in person to see everyone. Right? Maybe someone else has pics they will share. Loved seeing Mike E even tho he had his eyes closed. And, as usual...everyone in the pics look great!!!!!!! DID PEACHES SAY 70th????????? HOW CAN THAT BE?????
Comments: Jackie has been coming every year since the 40th (I think) and enjoys them very much. Mike Egan was a pleasant surprise this year. He had planned on only attending Friday night but enjoyed himself so much he can back Saturday. We are a FANTASTIC group of SOC friends and for those of you missed it YOU MISSED ALOT. But remember we have a 70th birthday party in two years.

Comments: Thank you, Lonnie! It took a while to download the pictures, and I had some doctor appointments today for routine stuff, leaving me a little overly chillaxed from Valium. Whee! I'll try to get them posted tomorrow. Anybody else have any reunion photos they would like to share? Just send them to me. I have a few from Martha Bass Hunt and some of my own, but it looks like some people might have been missed.
Comments: I will be sending reunion photos to Lynell as soon as possible. I am swamped with this type of work right now. These photos are carefully processed to the best of my abilities and I have many more to go. There are a few on Facebook right now. These will be sent to Lynell tonite I hope. I have many photos and they are very large file sizes making it even more difficult to get them to Lynell. The video is in work also and will contain these photos plus more. Besides it is more fun to wait a while to see all of this! There were other folks taking pictures and hopefully they will send them to Lynell also. Thanks to the hard working Peaches and commitee for the great reunion!
Comments: I am packing away all SOC 63 50th Highschool Reunion decorations in my attic this morning, addressed directories to be mailed this week and updated our registration list. Those of you who order tee shirts I have to find envelopes to mail them in first. We had 150 attend Saturday night (159 paid and 9 did not show for various reasons several were sick) and seven teachers attended. We had 104 Friday night (4 did not show). We had a fantastic time (I know I did). I looked over our list and I missed about 7 of you on Saturday nigth. I really did not have time to visit for very long our entire ball room was full except the corners (giggle giggle) but in two years we will have our 70th birthday party with nothing planned but visiting. You made our Reunion a great success. My ony regrete is I did not take a single picture. I had my camera but it never made it out. I would love to have pictures and be willing to pay premium prcie for them. Remember we are selling the 40th Reunion dvd and Lonnie Harmon will sell the video he took Friday and Saturday night. Call me for details (you all should my phone number by now). Love you SOCites........63 is the BEST class!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Comments: Coach Hodge passed away: HODGE, CHARLES HOWARD passed away October 24, 2013 at the age of 84. He was born in the family home in Cleveland, Arkansas May 6, 1929 to Earl and Alene Holderfield Hodge. He graduated from Sunset High School in 1947 and Texas A&M in 1951 lettering in Football and a member of the Presidential Bowl winning team over Georgia. After graduation he taught math and coached at Midland High School, South Oak Cliff High School, Sarah Zumwalt, Rylie, and North Dallas High School. While at North Dallas High School he was featured with Mike Wallace on the TV program 60 minutes, highlighting the Saxon math method of incremental learning concepts. He later worked with Saxon Publishing promoting those ideas throughout the state of Texas. During retirement he travelled, golfed, fished, and attended his beloved Texas A&M athletic teams. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jewell Evelyn Burson Hodge; his brothers, Bill and Calvin Hodge; his sister, Betty Joe and her husband, LaVere Brooks. He is survived by his brother, Fred Hodge and wife, Esther; his sons, Chuck and wife, Lisa, Vernon and wife, Mary Jean, daughter, Nancy and husband, Jerry Johnson; his granddaughter, Christy, her daughter, Jewell, and husband, Dan McAninch; grandson, James and his wife, Macy and daughter, Josie Johnson. Services and a reception will be held on October 30 at Restland Memorial Chapel at 11:00 AM where family and friends will be received. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
