Comments: this is a post on facebook from Dan Rose's wife. he will be at Methodist Hospital in Oak Cliff. Phil Berry is one of the best surgeons and a wonderful Christian man who prayers with his patients. They have all been friends for years and go to Cliff Temple Baptist Church. Try to send cards. If you need his home address email me and ask me. ![]() Just so thankful for our two sons, Danny and Eddie who are so willing to drop what they are doing to help with Dan. Thanks guys, we can't continue this journey without your help. We are using a wheel chair to transport him back and forth to appts. . Eddie usually loads him up and Danny meets us at the other end. Dan still has a lot of pain in his leg. They have diagnosed it as osteo lysis, which is deterioration of the prosthysis and has formed a pocket below the knee inside the bone. Surgery is set for Dec. 13, Friday, at Methodist Dr. Phil Berry will do the surgery. They will do a biopsy, then fill the cyst with bone graft and do a revision of the knee. Just continue to keep us on your prayer list
Comments: Take that external drive to Micro Center, Lonnie. When you walk in the door go straight ahead into the help center. See what they suggest. They may be able to help you. Those guys work miracles.
Comments: I am so sorry, Lonnie. I know you put your all into the videos. I will certainly purchase what you have of our 50th Reunion.
Comments: I am sorry to hear about Danny! I did spend time chatting at the reunion with Danny. He is in my prayers.
Comments: Hello all. I had a bit of hard luck on Sunday as I was finalizing the SOC reunion video. My external hard drive died while I was working on it. After 170 hours of work all is gone...also for the last 3 years of every photo, video and piece music that I owned. However all is not lost as I have 2 options. One is to get the data recovered through a data recovery service that uses a clean room. This is about 700-1000 U.S. Dollars. This option WILL have to wait. I am buying my dentist a new car right now not counting other medical payments. The other option is that I made a preliminary video which is rough (not refined and not complete). Bad news is I still want 25 bucks (U.S.) for it because of time consumed. It is 22 or so minutes as opposed to the beautiful highly refined 38 minute version. If you folks want this one let me know or I will just give it up. Video editing takes all my spare time as it is. I am really heartbroken over this! I think I'll find a new hobby. And yes I was going to back that disk up during the Christmas holidays. This was my plan really it was. I apologize to you Peaches and the SOC class of '63 for failing my task.
Comments: We have 39 so far. It will be too cold to sit outside or in the garage so we will be very cozy indoors. The more the merrier as the saying goes.
Comments: SOC ANNUAL CHRISTMAS LUNCHEON Sunday, December 8, 2013 at 1:00 p.m.
Comments: I saw him in the reunion photos. So glad he could attend and see everyone. He is in my prayers.
Comments: I'm so sorry to hear about Danny. JS, who you calling WARM?
Comments: I received a call from Connie Fleming Olimpio who received a call from Sandy Bristol that Danny Green had a stroke affecting his left side. He did not say the severity of it. Danny is at Methodist Charloton. She will try to visit him soon and let us know more. Start your prayers for his complete recovery. We just never know when our life will change so enjoy each and every minute of the day!!!!!!
Comments: Even though we've been pre-warned that Bill Akins will be there; Dru and I are looking forward to visiting with my warm, close, elderly classmates on December 8th. Happy Turkey-Day to all!
Comments: Donna G., so sorry to hear that Hughie has health issues. Guess at this age that happens now and then. I hope all is well with him. We will miss seeing you on Dec 8. Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving.
Comments: Happy Thanksgiving, Everyone!
Comments: Happy Thanksgiving to all. I'm having a long holiday starting tomorrow. Will be busy busy in the kitchen and with my mom. I sprung her from the nursing home last Saturday and she is really enjoying living with us, so far. She'll be 95 on Dec. 3 but can get around really well with her walker. We're going to my niece's house in Royse City for Turkey Day and all the family will be there, so much fun. Family, food and football, what a great day.
Comments: Sorry about that, Y'all. My phone rang and scared me to death! I HIT THE WRONG KEY! I never was mechanically inclined. As I was typing, MERRY CHRISTMAS and a prosperous New Year for every one of you. Love, Donna Gwin Libhart
Comments: Hello, everyone, It looks like I will be unable to attend the luncheon on December 8. I was really looking forward to the fun, but my husband, Hughie, is having some health problems and he may have to have surgery on the 9th or 10th. We see the cardiologist this week to clear him for surgery. He will have to come off some of his medication, so he will be monitored closely. Keep us in your prayers. On December 23, we will celebrate our 46th anniversary. Hope everyone has a great time! Our prayers are with your loved ones and all of you for a safe and Happy Thanksgiving, a MERRY CHRISTMAS
Comments: I hope you folks are staying warm this week! I spent the day digging up a water faucet and line in a deer pen.It is muddy and cold in Paris,Texas
Comments: Speaking of the "Bastrop area", did I hear that classmate Frank Wilson had settled in nearby Smithville after a long medical career in Victoria, TX?
Comments: Oh good, Charlotte.. I've camped at that state park, outside of Bastrop...several times.. I hated the fact that so many trees burned...
Comments: BRRRRRR!!! But, we have glorious rain at our little ranch. We are on a hill out here and the wind can make it mighty K K K K C-O-L-D!!!!!! I'm glad to report that little Lob Lolly Pine seedlings are being planted in the Bastrop area now to replace the burned out areas of the native pine. Many volunteers and the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center are busy helping. I am so proud t be associated with the Wildflower Center.
Comments: 38 degrees in Gatesville, Tx... For all you people not on FB...with me, I'm taking minutes for the Coryell County Democratic Club of the Coryell County Democratic Party.. They approved my minutes last night..! I must have sounded intelligent... Well, I tried.. (Watch what you do with that 'info'....JS....)
Comments: She, being Peaches, of course. Sorry about that. I look forward to seeing everyone there.
Comments: John, thank you for posting this notice about Paul Harrison. I remember him as one of the quiet, shy, nice guys at SOC. May he rest in peace forever. On a happier note, if you look on the Events page, you will find the invitation to her annual Christmas Party that she emailed me this afternoon.
Comments: I noticed last night on Facebook that B. J. Field posted a notice of the passing of one of our classmates. Paul Dayton Harrison of Forney left us on November 13th. He'd been married to Kathleen Vick for 49 years. Always sad to see our class get smaller.
Comments: Peaches ... off the record, between you and me ... did Leta Denning make specific mention of my name - or was it more by coy innuendo? My memory is a little hazy but as I recall she was the only teacher we had at SOC who was younger than her students.
Comments: I did read the posters and you guys did a great job putting the information together!
Comments: oops, one was from my Manton. Also Leta Denning sent me two pictures of her and her grand kids the day of the Reunion (which I would love to have posted) but of course, I was at the Omni. She is still beautiful!!!! Will post at the 70th birthday party and we plan on inviting our teachers for our birthday party.
