My 7th grade at Bushman one day was a variety/talent show. Bruce Bratton was paired with Betty Gibbs and they sang the song 'Dearie'.  I always wondered even to this day how in the world Bruce Bratton ever became paired with Betty Gibbs?

Jackie Lynn Hill Obituary
NOVEMBER 1, 1944 – JANUARY 12, 2024
Jackie was born November 1st, 1944, in Dallas, Texas to Emmitt and Hazel Durham. She will always be remembered as a loving Mom, Nana, Great Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and friend to all who knew and loved her.
She loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, her family, working in the yard or planting flowers, telling people about Jesus, cooking for everyone, listening to country music or Elvis, and watching John Wayne or Tom Selleck on TV. Her favorite charities were the local church she belonged to, giving to the Jewish Nation in Israel, and the Billy Graham ministries.
After graduating from high school at South Oak Cliff in Dallas, she attended East Texas Baptist College in Marshall, Texas where she met her husband and helped him graduate from college.
After college, Jackie was a preacher’s wife for 25 years. She taught Sunday School, hosted & cooked for the Youth Groups, and was called a prayer warrior by all who knew her. Throughout the years she wore many hats at the churches she attended including leading Women’s Ministries, Bible studies, Pianist and the Lawn Care (yes, she was a worker!). She was a Special Education Teacher at Boulter Middle School in Tyler and a Church Secretary at Riley First Baptist Church in Dallas; However, her proudest accomplishment was being a mother and raising 3 boys.
Jackie is survived by her 3 sons, Michael Hill, and wife Patrícia, Jeff Hill, Steve Hill, and wife Bethany, 4 grandchildren, Kendra Johnson, and husband Colin, Aaron Hill, and fiancé Delaney Broiles, Jacob and Jordan Hill. 4 Great-grandchildren, Sophie, Colton, & Lily Johnson & Camden Hill, and extended family and loving friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Emmitt and Hazel Durham, and her brother, Doug Durham.
A celebration of life for Jackie will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Community Life Church, 2918 US-175 in Kaufman, TX 75142.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.

What Bill said.
Many thanks to Peaches and the other, hard-working, talented hostesses, who put this luncheon together today. The company and the menu were both fabulous. I enjoyed it all.
Is 8:30 too early to go to bed? I’m asking for a friend.

Many thanks, as usual, to Peaches for opening up her beautiful home for our annual Christmas luncheon. Her home is always perfectly decorated for the Christmas season. The food and fellowship was wonderful this afternoon.

Thanks Peaches for doing this every year (for the past 20 years I think.)

Lonnie took pictures that hopefully will appear soon.

Hi, Sharon,

Thanks for asking, but it seems the skeleton is part of their permanent yard art installation. They added lights and a Santa. Go figure. Ha. Hope you‘re doing well!

Lynelle, Has your neighbor taken down the Halloween decorations yet?  If I walked out your front door and saw that skeleton, I'd probably faint.  Hope you are well.

Thank you Reunion Committee…your hard work was evident….Thank you Pat for taking the time to make the wonderful video. All decorations were beautiful!  I‘m so thankful that we grew up in a special place at a special time. It was wonderful to see those who attended. I’m sorry some went home positive with the dreaded  C and hope all are better now.  [wave]
