I ate more than my shares of s"mores in the scouts who met at Clara Oliver. My climb to fame was eating flaming marshmellows for my grandaughters and friends.. Then a couple of years ago I burned the roof of my mouth. I will not say how that turned out/ I no longer fire eat or cook marshmellows. I do eat peanuts and hulls whole. Everyone needs alittle roughage .I'm glad to see a few light hearted post ladies. It was getting hard to power up these past few weeks with all of the sadness everyone was enduring. I hope you are all doing well.Thank you all for your post just sorry I found you all so late in my life.

Okay...Missy...you broke into your smores kit!!!  Mine is still sealed...ahem.  If I open mine, Terry will eat all the Hersheys!!! He is a chocoholic!!!

The stress of watching the results of the vote may drive me to open the kit and eat all the Hersheys myself!!  haaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!

We rarely have dessert at home, but tonight we had S'mores.  Oh, my, were they good.  Marshmallows roasted on a stick over the gas range.  Can you tell I'm a SOC girl?

Does anyone else hate the end of Daylight Saving Time?  It's not even 7 p.m. and I am winding down.  The cats have already turned in for the night.

Hey Lynell, I'm glad you liked the care pkg.  I'm cleaning out my 7 yr old pc in order to transfer all the info over to a brand new pc.  When I found all those old 2003 thru 2005 pics from the early SOC Luncheons, I knew they needed preserving.  I couldn't think of a better person to have them than YOU!  I know you will hang onto them & probably use them when appropriate.  There are some good photos of several of the '63 class that are no longer with us.  As I looked thru each Luncheon ( I couldn't resist) it brought back some wonderful memories.  Glad they are in safe hands with you.

My DSL line hasn't been cooperating today, but I did get the form for Mary's memorial scholarship fund posted.  It's on the Memoriam page, near the top.  I'll try to make it look better in a few days when I'm back in town.

Peaches is very busy at work and asked me to post this information regarding the Mary Bach Memorial Scholarship:

Make checks payable to "CISD Education Foundation-Mary Bach's Fund".  Mail to CEF, P.O. Box 1494, Conroe, Texas 77305.

Or send credit card payment by fax to 281-363-3998, or by email to Info@BlairFirm.com

I'm going to email the form to Lynell to post on the website so you can print it if you plan to contribute to Mary's scholarship fund.

Thank you, Mary Kay

What a bounty in my mailbox today!  In addition to the usual end-of-month bills, I found a beautifully hand labeled CD of a WHOLE BUNCH of SOC pictures from that sweet and lovely kid from the Class of '66, Sandy Norman Lynn.

SNL, you rock, girlfriend!  As a bonus, you're a Lisbon kid.

I'll post these in a week or so, when I have time.  Meanwhile, many, many thanks to Sandy -- ummm, any relation to the hurricane of the same name?  I'm still hoping for tropical storm Lynell.  Know better than to shoot for a full-fledged hurricane.

When I have a few moments I will post my thoughts. Here are Larry McCord's.

My sister Mary's service was a true tribute to her life. Thanks to all who had a part in putting this together, especially her two children, Kent and Kari. Her granddaughter Ashley gave an outstanding tribute that was heartfelt and truly honored her Mimi for her character and her achievements. And her grandson Tristan played an original composition on his guitar in honor of her. Brandon Folt and the choir from First Presbyterian Church of Conroe, where Mary worked until her passing, honored her through music, the most appropriate choice. Last but not least, was the tribute offered by the presence of so many people from all walks of life...family, friends, coworkers and current and former students...who were touched by her life in some way. Thank you all for sharing in her life and her memorial. Though I tend to shy away from this type of sentiment, since we really have very little concept of what follows this existence, I did think while we were singing "Softly and Tenderly", which she and her sister Diane sang as a duet while in this life, that perhaps they were together singing it once again

Kathleen, we drove down to Conroe and stayed the night with the Maddox's and went to Mary's service. The service was beautiful, with the choir singing, her granddaughter's message about her grandmother and grandson who played a tribute to his Mimi on his guitar.  All was very touching and the slide show pictures they had of her touched all of us with the amazing life that Mary lived.  She was truly an amazing woman and will be missed by so many lives that she touched.  I am glad we made the trip to celebrate her life and the memories she has left us all with. It was a blessing for us all.

Did anyone go to Mary's Memorial Service today?  Maybe, you could commit on the service.   I may have missed it but does anyone have the address as to where we can send our donations for Mary's scholarship fund?

Please add Rodger Davis to our prayer list. He went to the VA hospital yesterday to have a test run on his throat. While there he had some strange feeings in his chest so they kept him overnight and are doing stress tests and possibly another test.

FRIENDS, this is a hard post! I NEED ALL THE PRAYERS YOU CAN SEND UP TO GOD. This is a SHOCKER! I just got report back from my Pelvic MRI from yesterday and there are lesions on the right pelvic bone and left hip bone. Report says cannot rule out metastisis due to history of breast cancer. Bone scan is scheduled early in the morning. I get the dye injection at 6:30, wait 3 hours for it to go through my body, then bone scan at 9:30. My doctors will have a report within a few hours after the scan.

I'm trying to be faithful and positive that this is NOT CANCER! But also, as you can imagine, on edge, worried, and shocked. All of my tests for 5 years have been perfect. And my tumor marker tests (which does something to test cancer "stirring") have been fantastic.

The MRI also showed bursitis in the hips and thighs and inflammation, so let's pray it's just lesions from that.

Your prayers are needed and appreciated. Mary Kay
