Comments: Who's Jay Walker...???
Comments: Crescent Dogs and Potato Salad(home made) for lunch. Don't know what's for supper..?? We had a bathtub redone, in Nashville.. No baths for several days..only showers in the other BR..
Comments: Charlotte, <sigh> you know I have the patent on double posting. Where's my character witness, Doctor Proctor??I'm glad to hear that Gary is all right. He was one tough cookie on the football field, and it looks like nothing has changed. What's everyone having for dinner tonight? I'm without inspiration. We have to eat at home because the windows are open. Had the bathtub redone today, and the house needs to air out. Maybe we'll have Avocado Surprise, because we have a couple of them ready to go. It'll be one of those "nobody else in the world is going to have this for dinner" meals. (If y'all never hear from me again, this could be why.)
Comments: Sorry about that.....posting by IPad has it's challenges. Signed Charllotte
Comments: Glad Gary is doing well now. Where in the heck did he have his first surgery.?......sheeeesh ! !!!

Comments: Sharon, I received your email yesterday regarding Gary, but when I tried to reply to it, would not work. So here is the answer to your question. Gary is doing very good now. He went in for what was to be a simple re-do hernia repair as it was very large and pressing on his lungs. When the doctor got inside, it was a mess from the previous surgery in 2002. The first doctor apparently did the wrap as they call it on the wrong end of the stomach, the bottem of it, which in turn twisted his stomach and esophagus around and around, stomach was upside down and the hernia was escalating from the back side of his stomach. So it was not a simple re-do, everything was stuck to everything, the diaphragm had to be replaced, but all in all what was supposed to be a 2 hour surgery turned out to be a 4.5 hour surgery, but everything is in its place and working fine. He told us had we waited only 2 more weeks, he would not have made it, as it was cutting off everything and the pressure on his lungs would have done him in. Thank goodness for prayers of friends and family. We were very lucky to say the least and he is becoming grumpy now, so I know he is on the road to recovery! Thank you for asking and I hope this information was not too long to post and this way it has to be only one time. Thanks for carying Sharon and to all the other friends who have kept in touch. Jerry I hear is in ICU with an infection, he needs our prayers and so does Pat for strength.
Comments: Yay, Sharon! Good for you. My turn will be in a year or two, but right now I'm looking through a slight fog. Peaches, what is the latest on Jerry?
Comments: I can see again, yeah! Had laser clipping of a secondary cataract yesterday, and it's a miracle. Is Jerry still at Zale-Lipshy?
Comments: Jay Walker, are you from SOC?
Comments: good to know you are here
Comments: Peaches and all who emailed me, Gary's surgery came out great, as u know had we not done it as soon as we did he would not be here with us. Thank you for your prayers and concern, he is doing great hard to keep a Leverett down too long!
Comments: Dan, you're a brave (or something) man to eat flaming marshmallows! I had to blow mine out a time or two when they flared up. Very sanitary, of course. To my credit, I didn't drop any into the stove. I've done that before, and it's not easy to clean. Charlotte, the other three Hershey bars in my S'mores kit are calling my name loudly. I'll wolf down the rest of the graham crackers with a glass of milk. Terry has the metabolism of a teenager, unlike moi.
Comments: I did not have the s'mores tonight although I broke into the pinwheel cookies, with marshmallow, chocolate and graham cracker crust. Much easier and no burn until tomorrow when I have to burn those calories off. Just not as much fun as it used to be. Still good thigh with that glass of milk, 2% of course!
Comments: I ate more than my shares of s"mores in the scouts who met at Clara Oliver. My climb to fame was eating flaming marshmellows for my grandaughters and friends.. Then a couple of years ago I burned the roof of my mouth. I will not say how that turned out/ I no longer fire eat or cook marshmellows. I do eat peanuts and hulls whole. Everyone needs alittle roughage .I'm glad to see a few light hearted post ladies. It was getting hard to power up these past few weeks with all of the sadness everyone was enduring. I hope you are all doing well.Thank you all for your post just sorry I found you all so late in my life.
Comments: Okay...Missy...you broke into your smores kit!!! Mine is still sealed...ahem. If I open mine, Terry will eat all the Hersheys!!! He is a chocoholic!!! The stress of watching the results of the vote may drive me to open the kit and eat all the Hersheys myself!! haaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!
Comments: We rarely have dessert at home, but tonight we had S'mores. Oh, my, were they good. Marshmallows roasted on a stick over the gas range. Can you tell I'm a SOC girl?
Comments: Read in Saturday obits that Janet Melaun's mother passed away. The service is at Restland, I believe at 11:30 a.m. today.
Comments: Does anyone else hate the end of Daylight Saving Time? It's not even 7 p.m. and I am winding down. The cats have already turned in for the night.
Comments: Okay Peaches....you outdid me on that one!!
Comments: CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!
Comments: Congratulations Teresa and Billy Joe!!!!
Comments: I just read where Theresa Morgan and Billy Joe Fields got engaged!! Congratulations to them!!!
Comments: Sandy, thank you soo much. I'm posting via my iPod, so I hope it works. I'm out of town.
Comments: Hey Lynell, I'm glad you liked the care pkg. I'm cleaning out my 7 yr old pc in order to transfer all the info over to a brand new pc. When I found all those old 2003 thru 2005 pics from the early SOC Luncheons, I knew they needed preserving. I couldn't think of a better person to have them than YOU! I know you will hang onto them & probably use them when appropriate. There are some good photos of several of the '63 class that are no longer with us. As I looked thru each Luncheon ( I couldn't resist) it brought back some wonderful memories. Glad they are in safe hands with you.
Comments: Thank you, Lynell! If you can't open and print the form, email peacheswalker@gmail.com or mkaykathryn@sbcglobal.net and one of us will email it to you. MK
Comments: My DSL line hasn't been cooperating today, but I did get the form for Mary's memorial scholarship fund posted. It's on the Memoriam page, near the top. I'll try to make it look better in a few days when I'm back in town.
Comments: Peaches is very busy at work and asked me to post this information regarding the Mary Bach Memorial Scholarship: Make checks payable to "CISD Education Foundation-Mary Bach's Fund". Mail to CEF, P.O. Box 1494, Conroe, Texas 77305. Or send credit card payment by fax to 281-363-3998, or by email to Info@BlairFirm.com I'm going to email the form to Lynell to post on the website so you can print it if you plan to contribute to Mary's scholarship fund. Thank you, Mary Kay
Comments: Trust me, Lynell, the naming of that hurricane is no coincidence!
Comments: What a bounty in my mailbox today! In addition to the usual end-of-month bills, I found a beautifully hand labeled CD of a WHOLE BUNCH of SOC pictures from that sweet and lovely kid from the Class of '66, Sandy Norman Lynn. SNL, you rock, girlfriend! As a bonus, you're a Lisbon kid. I'll post these in a week or so, when I have time. Meanwhile, many, many thanks to Sandy -- ummm, any relation to the hurricane of the same name? I'm still hoping for tropical storm Lynell. Know better than to shoot for a full-fledged hurricane. |
