Beautiful photo Lynell.  Thank you for posting.  I am so sorry to miss Jerry's memorial.  I sent flowers and  I know so many will be there.  But, I wish I could be too. I am thinking and praying for Patricia, their families and all the many close friends who are  grieving the loss of this special friend.

Our first day back with the friends from soc was at Peaches house in Keesler park.  We had gone to get info for the first soc cruise.  Jerry was the first to greet Monica and I after introducing himself he ask which class I was from.  I said 64 he smiled and said do you remember Gary Leverett's number on the football team.  I said number 30 and he said yeah you are from soc.  Jerry and Pat were always so kind and so giving that is what I will always remember.  We will miss him here, someday I'll see Jerry again..I wonder what he'll ask me next time he sees me.

Today, on the eve of Mary's 68th birthday and after a month of alternate weepiness and outright laughter remembering the tragic moments all the way back to highschool and the wonderful moments of joy over the past fifty-some-odd years I now am confronted with the loss of another person who exemplifies what I, in my quiet moments, wish I was more like.  There is an old saying that goes something like "It's not what you say or what you do but how you make someone feel".  In all my moments and times with Jerry there was always a "feeling" of compassion, understanding, gentleness and Jerry was, most importantly, kind to me.  His kindness will always be remembered.  Pat, I am so sorry.

why does the sun keep shining,
why does the sea rush to shore,
don't they know it's the end of the world,
Because Jerry is not here any more.

...
Sweet dreams my sweet prince, and
save a place for me to join you one day.
God is laughing with you and I know you
are telling Him about the songs you love.

47 Years is not enough - my love and my life.

Charlotte, they do migas in taco form at Tacos y Mas, and they have several yummy salsas they make fresh every day.  When I make migas at home, it's on a plate.  I think it must be a generic term, like "soup."  I've never seen migas the same way twice.

Our brunch came from Tacos Y Mas.  Deeelicious migas tacos on corn tortillas, for $1.79 each, and the best part was I didn't have to deal with raw eggs before noon !

Hmmm...well, I went to a 5 Star restaurant today for brunch and whatever was in that food was delicious.  Mimosas, Independence, TX Coffee, Lobster bisque, tiny cinnamon french toasts with huckleberries flown in from Oregon, and a dollop of house made pumpkin ice cream to finish.  I'm not thinking cooking or making any of it could have been better.

I still cook. I like to know 'what's'...in my food... I also know 'what really tastes good'.... a restaurant, now and then, I like...even 'fast food'...but cooking is best.

Charlotte, his name Dr.Mark Dickson in Sherman, was supposed to be the best up this way, but after this with Gary, he does not do those surgeries any longer! Thank goodness. Robert Sewell, MD in Southlake, is the best of the best and teaches others his technology. He was awesome and I recommend him highly!
Regarding dinner made old fashioned beef stew with honey cornbread! Yumm

Whatever's in the cupboard that seems like it would go with avocado will go into the brew. This usually turns out okay, but has been wonderful on a few occasions. Seldom has it been BAD because most home cooking is passable.

I've known people who married men who were picky about their dinner. Thank God I am not one of those woman.
