Comments: Peaches, could you or someone be more specific as to "where " your Club House Parking is located. When we turn off of Royal & onto Gray Rock . . . is it somewhere along Gray Rock? If so, I've never noticed it. Thanks, see everyone Sunday!
Comments: We have 59 RSVP for the SOC 2012 Annual Christmas Luncheon. It has been approved to use the Private Property Club house parking until 4:30 pm. This area is before you get to my townhomes. See events page for more details.
Comments: Our own Billy Joe Field was on Channel 4 News this evening! Sharon, that's too cool about MMM. Love those old Westerns. My aunt was crazy about Bonanza, and David's dad always called him Hoss because of that show. Gee, it's scary to think about the memories today's TV shows will conjure up in 50 or so years.
Comments: Watched a "lost episode" of Bonanza last night on the Encore Western Channel and there were two songs that I kept wondering where had I heard that voice. When the credits rolled, lo and behold, it was our very own MMM. It must have been early in his career.
Comments: Gosh, I recognize so many names of your Adamson Class of 63 because they went to Boude Story...it is fun to see their names....it will be interesting to see how many show.....please keep us posted on where...and who! Hope everyone had a wonderful and thankful Thanksgiving Holiday!
Comments: I would like to invite the SOC "63 class to put the date of Oct 3 & Oct 4 on their calendar and come to the WHA Class"63 50th Reunion events. October 3 & 4, 2013. I hope by starting early we can get more classmates from out of town. All the info we have so far is at www.adamsonhigh.com and will be posted there first as details are worked out. Best Regards, Ron Jones ron@ronjones.net
Comments: Donna, so sorry to hear of your health issues. I will start praying for you and please keep us posted of your results. Thank you for the kind words. I do love people! sure wish you could have come to the luncheon. We have so much fun and it is a great way to start the seasons. We do this every year the first Sunday in December, same time, same place.
Comments: Hi, Donna! I'm so sorry you're dealing with health issues, but from what I have heard from friends, Texas Oncology is The Best place to go for treatment around here. I hope all turns out well for you, and this turns out to be one of those medical small events. Would love to see you at a luncheon sometime!
Comments: Dear Peaches and Classmates,
Comments: Peaches sent me the Word document with the invitation to the annual Christmas luncheon at her house. The link to it is on the Events page, so check it out!

Comments: I know it's 2-1/2 hours before Thanksgiving but I'm wishing everyone "Happy Thanksgiving". Have .safe and fattening day.
Comments: It's been a tough year for many of our classmates. Let's all be thankful for friends and family Thanksgiving! Prayers for families who have not been as blessed.
Comments: Happy Thanksgiving!!
Comments: HAPPY TURKEY DAY. Leaving work early today so I can get home and start cooking. Hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday.
Comments: SOC ANNUAL CHRISTMAS LUNCHEON, Sunday, December 2, 2012 - 1:00 pm at Peaches Walker's house. I will post details soon.
Comments: Thank goodness our songs didn't say "here's to the Old gold and the white".....haaaaaa!! Plus, our ribbons etc were just gold and white...so were some of the uniforms...Did we even make that distinction back then....I don't think so..Did any other school have as sophisticated colors as we did??? I don't think so!
Comments: Old Gold. I guess the ciggie companies had some input into what our colors were. I remember people who smoked Old Golds. Not yellow, but Old Gold.
Comments: Actually, that former post looks orange now.
Comments: This is supposed to be gold, not yellow. ...As in SOC He is yellow.. . Oh well, "can't please everyone so you might as well please yourself"
Comments: Ginger, just a suggestion, but if you can't read a light-colored post on here, just "select" it and the background will turn blue. At least it does on my screen.
Comments: It's a spectacularly good-weather day in Dallas, too! We need a day like this every now and then. Sandy Norman Lynn gave me a CD with a BUNCH of SOC luncheon pictures on it. I'm hoping to have the time/energy to get them onto this website soon. They go back to about 2003.
Comments: Char...write in Blue or Black..That is very hard to read. I'm not thankful for yellow print...Erma Bombeck use to talk about writing notes to her kids' teachers on Toilet Paper with a yellow crayon..It's not a pretty site.. Well, maybe for Daffodils... Have a nice week...
Comments: The weather down this way is spectacular. We have cool nights and sunny, mid 70 days...how much better could it be?? I've had reports that Jerry's memorial was very nice....how could it be anything else? He was such a nice guy. I have so many things to be thankful for and to remember this Thanksgiving...my life, my friends, my family, love, laughter, liberty, what health I do have. I'm sure there is more too.
Comments: I am so sorry to hear of Jerry's passing. I wish that I could be at the service and give Pat a hug. I am thankful for the Vessels' wonderful contributions over the years, not only to our 1963 class, but to others, as well. One special program ended in the song, "Happy Trails to You". I am remembering that today, with tears. God bless, and Rest in Peace, Jerry.
Comments: I just heard the news and am so sorry to hear. God bless Jerry. Pat my prayers with you and your family.
Comments: I thought of two songs when I heard of Jerry's passing. One was from ABBA, "I have a Dream" and the other was a country western song by Jeff Bridges, "There's a Brand New Angel". He was SOC's angel, a gift to us all and will be truly missed. God Bless Pat and the Vessels for all their many gifts of love, not just to South Oak Cliff, but to all their special friends and family and anyone they have come in contact with. A blessed couple and blessed friends forever.
Comments: Love the picture of Jerry and Pat...that is the way he will always be remembered. I am sure he and Barney will be playing their music together and Mary will be dancing.
Comments: i am at work now and tried. Sandy Lynn said she can not either. Oh well, I remembe so well how he looked and loved his smile.
Comments: Peaches, you might be able to see the photo if you log in from a different computer. Maybe yours has a block on it. |
