Comments: Camille, will love sharing my birthday with your mother. What a wonderful way to celebrate a 90th birthday. She must be in really good health to make that trip and get on stage with THE Platters. We are so fortunate to have still have our parents. Thanks for my birthday wishes.
Comments: Jud, I didn't know Bruce personally, but I understand..
Comments: Really missing Bruce Gaines, my best friend, college roomie, and Best Man.
Comments: Camile, Wish your mother Happy Birthday for me. She is such a sweet person. Today, happens to be my mother-in-laws ninety first birthday. She is celebrating it with her friends in the nursing home. Being able to take your mother to Branson, is a much better way to celebrate. I am glad you, your mother and your sister had such a good.
Comments: Since it is never too late to send Birthday Wishes to our precious Peaches, I thought I would join with the group and wish her a Happy Birthday. I haven't been on the SOC site since mid June. My sister, Becky, and I took our mother to Branson to celebrate her 90th birthday, July 1st (yes, Peaches, you have to share your day). Had a great time and she was chosen for the spotlight time with the "Platters". Had her on stage, gave her a rose, and serenaded her in celebration of her birthday. This was a birthday she will always remember.
Comments: Phyllis, we have an address for Sandra but do not know for sure if it is her. We have never heard from her. Send me an email and I can send you the addresss. peacheswalker@gmail.com
Comments: Sorry to hear about Bill Wilson. I didn't really know him, but Sandra Weldon -- and her sister Cheryl -- were good buds at SOC. They lived in the apartments by Kips on Zang, which I thought was quite glamorous. This was the "swinging 60's," and they had sleepovers, and we went swimming and enjoyed the "singles scene" around the pool. Does anyone know how to contact Sandra?
Comments: As always, Leftnell, what happens at Chester Clinic stays at Chester Clinic (unless The National Enquirer meets certain monetary requests).
Comments: Is Dr. Proctor offering any discounts on premarital exams or STD treatment in honor of this event?
Comments: Restland, Cutlery Shoppe, Home Depot (nothing says I love you like duct tape), Bronco Bowl, and of course Wally World.
Comments: Ken, how lovely. Can you tell us where the happy couple is registered?
Comments: You are all invited to the wedding of Miss Casey Anthony and Mr. Orenthal James Simpson. They will be wed at Wonderland, former home of Michael Jackson (children are welcome). The reception will be held at the Playboy Mansion, where all are invited to watch the photo shoot of Miss Anthony, right after she does the nasty with 200-year old Hugh Hefner. The brides brother, James Anthony, formerly of South Oak Cliff High School, will perform the nuptials.
Comments: Charlotte.......amen!
Comments: That lying, sick C A could be out by Thurs with time served...........Good Grief!!!!
Comments: Last week I nabbed an interesting book on eBay. It was published in 1927 and titled "Our City Dallas". It was written by JFK. Not THAT JFK ... the other JFK - Justin F. Kimball. Kimball had been the Superintendent of Schools during the prior ten years or so. He dedicates the book to "THE BOYS AND GIRLS OF THE DALLAS PUBLIC SCHOOLS WHO SHALL MAKE OR UNMAKE THE DALLAS OF TOMORROW". Would that have been our parents? Our City Dallas deals with the explosive growth between 1900 and the late 1920's and the need for vision in planning the future of the city. Kimball struggles with predicting what the population will be by 1940. He questions unusual topics such as "will there be a sufficient supply of milk for all people and especially for children to drink. The city must see that this milk is clean, pure, and wholesome." The book includes many pictures and maps. A lot of attention is devoted to the work of Geo. E. Kessler, the city planner. Maybe I'll get some ideas for places to metal detect someday.
Comments: John that was my exact address, you are very good. What happened to the younger brother, I think is name was Ronnie. I'm glad Frank is doing very well for himself. They were not bad to be around, the neighborhood was a great place.
Comments: Lynell: My sentiments exactly. And, I think you are right about the book deal and Playboy.
Comments: Casey Anthony acquitted. Sheesh.
Comments: Diane, according to my Magic 8-Ball, you must have lived near 3902 Summit Ridge. I pity you if you had to grow up next door to Frank W. He used to drive me crazy in our school days. Somehow he grew up to be a respectable physician in Victoria, TX. He did one of those programs where he went into the Army and they paid his way through medical school in return for so many years of military service.
Comments: Thank you for letting me know about Bill Wilson. The Wilson brothers were my neighbors grouping up. I pray that God will give the family strength throughout the next few days.
Comments: WAKE UP LEFTNELL!!!! This is America......speak Spanish.
Comments: Happy Independence Day, America!
Comments: I don't know if any of you picked it up or not, but the Class of '62 guestbook had a notice posted that Bill Wilson died a week ago Saturday. Bill's younger brother, Frank, was in our class. In August of 1964 Bill married Sandra Weldon, also from our class. At the time they were both attending East Texas State. Eventually, they settled in Friendswood (south of Houston) and maybe five years ago Bill and I met down there for breakfast. He'd been having heart problems and Sandra was slowly losing her vision. It is my understanding that her health continues to decline. Prayers go out to Sandra and their children, and to Frank my old ROTC buddy.
Comments: Phil, it is NEVER to late to wish me a happy birthdday. I celebrate for a few weeks after my special day. Thanks. Hope all is well with you and yours.
Comments: Not to late to wish Peaches Happy Birthday I hope
Comments: Cathy, I am not buying this defense. If she gets off, she'll be in Playboy and get her own reality show. This is a good thing to watch on this hot day while the Coors gets colder.
Comments: Does anyone think Casey Anthony's father may have committed the murder of his granddaughter the way the defense attorney insinuated?
Comments: My challenge for today is to get that second line on the Coors bottles to turn dark blue for optimum coldness! Other than that, I don't plan to do much.
Comments: Hey, Ken. Have you heard my song being sung on the commercial for Pepsi on television? That is why I did not ever like the name Lola cause it always belonged to sexy ladies who got what they wanted...................and I never did. giggles.....Don't tell anyone but i like the name Lola now.
Comments: Thanks for the birthday wishes here and on facebook. It makes one feel very special to be remembered. My day was great! I was very fortunate to have lunch with the wonderful lady who brought me into this world and her friends at the Retirement Center.....fried cat fish......yummy. Dinner with girlfriends (Jewell Shuemake and Jeanette (Robert's S. sister and my bestest friend) at our favorite Cheddars, lunch Thursday with sister-in-law and friend at Natalies and 3 more invitations to lunch or dinner soon and many phone calls. I keep my birthday cards out for a couple of weeks and keep celebrating. |
