Comments: Cynthia, I thought it was funny how Fergie's daughters captured so much attention with their outlandish attire, especially their hats. They looked like they had just stepped out of "Alice in Wonderland." They managed to sit behind their grandmother, the Queen. So, every time the camera focussed on the Queen you could see her granddaughters. Maybe at the next royal wedding someone should consider inviting their mother.
Comments: You are so funny Jud and classy! Lynell, I think the hat you are speaking of was worn by one of Andrew and Fergie's daughters. I could not imagine how in the world she kept it on. And I sure could not figure out what it was supposed to represent. Interesting to see. Wonder how many in the audience could not see anything due to the hats....
Comments: (man's opinion) I only saw 3-4 minutes of wedding while getting ready for work. Have never seen such a gaggle of frumpy, dowdy women! In atrocious hats! I prefer our beautiful, classy SOC women.
Comments: There were so many beautiful hats in one place! Don't you know the milliners were excited. I didn't care for the one worn by one of the royals that looked like a piece of pink wrought iron grillework, but most were lovely. I hope the newlyweds have a long and happy marriage. This could be a challenge, living under under a magnifying lens like they will have to do. In honor of the wedding, we plan to watch The King's Speech on DirecTV this evening. I've seen it, but my husband has not. It's so well done that it's worth a second view.
Comments: Lynell, I enjoyed watching the Royal Wedding but sure hated it on the way to work when I felt I was heading the wrong way. I may be German but those Brits sure know how to put on a show. It was a lovely wedding. She looks like she was born for the position and much more at ease than her husband. Well, tomorrow we have our own Royal SOC event - tat tat. Come on out to El Fenix and wear your reunion badge if you can find it. Looking forward to seeing as many as can make it tomorrow.
Comments: Lynelle: Steve told me there was at least one Texan amid the throng in London. He was holding up a Texas flag! I looked at some pictures a few minutes ago, and I haven't seen that many hats since the Kentucky Derby. They really take their hats seriously.
Comments: While watching the wedding coverage, I heard this from a British announcer: In the small Texas village of Grapevine, all 1400 residents are viewing the ceremony on television. I wonder what the other 44,934 people in Grapevine are up to. Hopefully, sleeping in.
Comments: We have WILD pigs on our property in Austin County....they wreak havoc on our land! Recently we had a father/son team and their dogs come and catch a few. Thankfully, these guys do it for a hobby so we just call them and they come and bring their dog team with trailers etc. WHOA!
Comments: Sharon, I'm still around .Read the Guest book daily. I have a home in Rockwall and a ranch up here. Started off with the deer 2 years ago. Didn't see them every time I went out so I'm raising them to eventually release. MY son hunts but we really want to have a lot of wildlife on the ranch. We have deer ,to many pigs ,turkey.and the buffalo. I spend most of my tome up here.304 acres keeps you busy. I still cruise every year so I can dive. Just returned from Cozumel,Grand Cayman, and Jamaica were I went zip lining. Now that's fun!!!!!
Comments: If you don't know, the eaglets were taken from the nest this morning. The raptor specialists were afraid of other flying predators while dad was away hunting and fishing. They thought it in the best interest of the eaglets to remove them to safety. This was so sad and hopefully, dad will move on and find another mate soon.
Comments: David did live in that area several years ago, and had a law practice there, but I'm not sure if he's still there.
Comments: I saw that a tornado hit Gun Barrel City. Isn't that where David Nowell lives?
Comments: Ron, the dad showed up tonight with a fish for the eaglets! Made a lot of people very happy.
Comments: This loss is truly sad and heartbreaking..something so beautiful, so grand, and it ends with the mama Eagle losing her life..hopefully the dad can continue to raise his three babies..praying for this Eagle family..
Comments: For anyone who has been following the eagle nest in Norfolk, Virginia, the mother eagle was struck by an airplane this morning and killed. The little birds look so sad in the nest, and the followers are all hoping the dad can handle the upbringing. It's a sad thing to see.
Comments: Dan, I'm glad to see you are still around. Did you move to Paris and what happens to the white-tails when they grow up?
Comments: Linda, I am so sorry for you loss and I know what a loss it is. Your memories of your mother are wonderful. Thank you for sharing a small part of her life with us. She certainly had an interesting life. I'm glad you were with her and gave her comfort as she left this physical world.
Comments: Linda, I am sorry you lost your mom. She sounds like an interesting and energetic lady.
Comments: Linda, I'm so sorry for the loss of your Mom. Your info about her was intriguing to say the least! It's never easy losing a parent, even when you think you're prepared. What a sweet memory in that she passed on Easter morning listening to her favorite Gospel song!! God Bless you!
Comments: My 91 yr old mother, Leona Christine Wright, passed away Easter Sunday April 24th at 1pm. She was in a nursing home on hospice. The hospice nurse had just said that she did not expect my mother to pass away for several more days. I arrived and played mother's favorite Loretta Lynn gospel songs for her. I told her that we loved her and that we would be fine. She passed away when her favorite song "I'll Fly Away" was playing. The funeral will be graveside at Grove Hill in Dallas on Friday, April 29th, 2pm. The family is requesting that anyone attending please wear red, mother's favorite color. She dyed her hair red until her 90th birthday. During the early 50's mother was the head waitress at the Bob Wells Ranch House. She wore a white cowgirl outfit and lead her waitresses in a little dance at the start of the show. After BWRH closed, she worked other nightclubs. She once worked 3 days for Jack Ruby and quit because she did not like him. Imagine her surprise when she saw him kill Oswald live on TV. She walked the aisle for Billy Graham and eventally owned 2 cafes.
Comments: Hi everyone. We have no cows. I do have a ranch here in Paris. We have 4 buffalo and another due this month. The bull goes around 1700 pounds. We also raise whitetails and currently have 43 with 46 being born this June. Lots of deer feed !
Comments: No moooooooo cow jokes please Jud...Thankfully, my cow-girls will never end up on any-ones range. They live peacefully on our ranch trading around from pasture to pasture living out their days as big, fat, happy cows......hm....sounds familiar! ha ha!
Comments: I have cows in my freezer, and frequently on my range.
Comments: Mike, I did not know that! Our livestock is all feline. ![]()
Comments: Lynel, Monica and I, and Mike Black have cows and from the class of 64 Bill Goss raises and races throughbred horses. Often running at Lone Star Park
