Comments: Jud, never mind your camera...only a Deb can speak for Debs...yakin' about what ain't happin' is just something people do...it's a joke, I know that...but the Debs would prefer to be respected! If you were a Deb and you want to disagree with me, then I'm not speakin' for you but I do speak for the rest of us!!
Comments: I'm bringing my video camera. That will be worthy of YouTube.
Comments: John, I believe you are mistaken. Most of those guys are wearing Adamson and Woodrow Wilson colors, not SOC. They certainly are a talented group. Imagine when the NFL discovers the vuvuzela, especially that little hand-held job. Sam, splits? You make me glad I couldn't make Debs!
Comments: The rumor mill has it right Johnny. We intend to march around the perimeter of the birthday gathering until we are invited to join the meal, for free of course, or a large enough donation is made that we go elsewhere. I forgot to mention that we will be joined by the Golden Age Debs, in uniform of course, and in lockstep. It's not everyday that we can witness mass aging. PS We will provide a Medicare sign up table, free, but with a donation jar for those so inclined. Now, back to practicing our 4th of July vuvuzela program. It's great, especially God Bless America, when the Golden Age Debs end with the splits. Awesome!
Comments: Cousin Sam, show us your vuvuzela! The latest rumor on the "grapevine" is that our SOC 65th Birthday Party will have entertainment provided by the Class of '62's famous "Marching Vuvuzela Band"! Here is a recent performance in southernmost Oak Cliff: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SrYb9qtO8OQ&feature=related
Comments: Lynell, are the cats still able to claim you and David as dependents? Or has your new-found Social Security wealth eliminated that deduction for them? Sure, Sam. I'll help the black sheep of your family...in HIS car.
Comments: No problem Lynell. Jud, I saw a byline on the Drudge Report awhile ago......"Oil found in crabs...". Could you get Cousin Johnny to the Dr?
Comments: Our cats make more than that. Or at least they should. (Kindly e-mail me that info on the sly.)
Comments: Never mind. I was going to tell everyone where to go to get their official Obama Tax Hike Exemption Card, but it only works for families making under $250,000 per year. Everyone here makes more than that. Never mind.
Comments: DOESN'T EVERY ONE HAVE BIRTHDAY MONTH??????
Comments: JS: How long does it take to mow that huge yard? 15 minutes? I only remember seeing about 20 s.f. of grass. The rest is beds, walks, driveways, pool, tennis court, dog run, patio, etc. If I had no more to mow than you, I would sell the mower and just use hand clippers. It would probably be quicker than firing up the 50" Kubota Zero Turn. Just a suggestion....... Barry
Comments: I suspect that Peaches has so many great friends because she IS such a great friend. Enjoy all those lunches and din-dins! You can stretch this birthday out for a month, with luck!
Comments: It was so much fun reading my birthday wishes. Thanks to all of you! Birthdays are so much fun. I love getting cards, wishes, having lunch/dinner with friends. Yesterday was great. I still have about 5 lunches or dinners to get together with friends for my birthday. I love it. I am so blessed to have so many GREAT friends. I keep my cards up all month and enjoy them. Friendships are one of my passions. I may not have a husband or children but I am blessed with really good friends!!!! Happy 4th of July!!! Be safe!!! God Bless the United States of America!
Comments: A Joyous Fourth of July to all my classmates, except those of you who are Russian spies (you know who you are). I'm hoping it rains all weekend to get out of mowing the yard.
Comments: Charles/Chas, thank you for doing this. You are welcome here, as is every member of and friend to the Class of '63. Please remember to sign your first and last name each time you post. Thanks, and best wishes for a happy Independence Day!
Comments: Sorry about the Full Name non-post! On SOC 62 everyone knows me as Chas.
Comments: Everyone have a safe and happy 4th and remember those that made our freedom possible and those that are trying to take it away. Oh, and get ready for oil and gas prices to go through the roof. Obama was not able to get a moratorium on offshore drilling, so he simply had the EPA shut down 30% of our nation's refining capacity, most if not all is in Texas. If the current administration has its way, we have more freedom today than we will ever have in the future. So, let's all celebrate this weekend.
Comments: Bill, this is an ongoing pattern with this group of Obama's political appointees/czars. And I mean that in a purely socioeconomic and morals way, not political. Have a happy 4th,
Comments: "I'm sorry. I completely forgot about that $40K I was paid." Can any of you make a statement like that? Patrick Gaspard, President Obama's political director, apparently can. He failed to disclose the payment (from SEIU, a powerful union that lobbies Congress and the White House). When it was uncovered the WH stated that the form had been corrected in what was a "minor administrative error." Oh well, we only get transparent when we get caught. So that this is not construed as a purely political post, I'm wishing everyone a safe and happy 4th of July!
Comments: I know I'm risking a new round of somebody going off the political chain, but I've got to say it anyway. Anybody notice how simply idiotic the Obama gang sounded yesterday? Like "O" in Racine, Wisconsin, defending the fact that unemployment is still over 9.5% by saying "it could be worse, like 12 or 13 or 15%". Uh, Barry, you're in a town where it's 14% or so, AND SOUNDING REAL DUMB. Or Nancy "Big Gavel" Pelosi saying in a press conference that "paying people more unemployment IS THE BEST WAY TO CREATE JOBS." I hate to break it to them, but they'd flunk their first semester of Government Running 101 if this were the real world. Oh dear, it is the real world. Now I'm "goin' off the chain"!!!..................Charles Johns, re-sign your post or the deleter has no choice but to delete.
Comments: And the rains came...John, we come to Houston about once a month to buy at Roger Howard's estate sales, great bargains and the stuff sells in Chico @ Monica's mom's antique store...We also try to eat at Floyd's on 45 and Doyles on 34th during our stay...Looking forward to the fire works we have a great view from the balcony...I forgot to mention the Monument resturant great view and better seafood. You guys down here have the best seafood resturants..Oh and the Aquarium...resturant that is.
Comments: Sam, chill pills are not needed, thank you. Just sign your whole name. If that's too much to ask, please let me know. Thank you, Martha.
Comments: Happy Birthday, Peaches. Love and Hugs.
Comments: Martha, if that stuff works, you might want to send some to Ginger and Linda! Life is too short to be so angry and bitter. Happy Birthday Peaches...and Happy Independence Day to all who read and post here!
Comments: Lynell, I am mixing up a new batch of skin thickener. Will overnight some. Hang in there girl, I also like to know who is posting. We forget some names and it is always nice to see them when they rarely post on '63.
Comments: Lynell, please take a sedative. I've emailed Chas to suggest he get back on and state his full name so he can be in compliance, and his post is not deleted. I'm sure he will.
Comments: I take it that Chas who posted was Chas Bono, who would be this guestbook's very first celebrity. We've given up on Boude Storey's fine talent show participant Michael Martin Murphey and SOC's own Dennis Rodman. Maybe Chas will tell us what it was like to have Sonny and Cher as parents. At the risk of being redundant, PLEASE SIGN YOUR WHOLE NAME WHEN YOU POST ON THIS GUESTBOOK. WE DON'T KNOW WHO YOU ARE OTHERWISE. THANK YOU.
Comments: Cousin Johnny, I know this will impact you particularly, but beginning today, as part of Obamacare, you will have to pay a 10% tax on your tanning at Planet Beach. Sorry, it's just part of the price for insuring 30 million more Americans. I bet a lot of SOCites start laying out in the backyard, and hope no one sees them through the chain link fence. Kinda gets you excited, huh Barry & Jud. Sure does me!
Comments: I know I sent you a personal e-birthday card but don't want to look like I've ignored you here.....so. HAPPY BIRTHDAY PEACHES....and maaaaany more! :0)
Comments: Remember to let the county appraisal district know about being officially 65, so they will adjust your property taxes downward. Nice to see taxes go down for a change! |
