Comments: Happy Father's Day to all the good daddies of the world! I just received great news via e-mail from Barrister Chang Han. In part, it says, "I am contacting you to request your permission to present you as the recipient to my late patron. He has a deposit of (US$19,000,000)." That will pay a lot of squirrel vet bills!

Comments: John and Barry, I wish someone would teach squirrels to quit running in front of cars. Most squirrels seem to just dart out into the traffic without any thought of what could happen to them. It is amazing how most of them manage to get to the other side without injury.

Comments: Charlotte, don't mind me. I'm just mad all over again about having to cough up two months' worth of Mad Magazine money to buy a book for civics class. Isn't it nice that clothing is now made to accomodate those of us who are long of leg? I used to let out hems of jeans, sew on embroidered braid at the bottom, etc. Now, I'm afraid I have to let out jeans in a different direction.
Comments: JS, Terry bought 4 new pair of shorts last week and had them altered (cut off). You need to have your's customized to the length you want too. Maybe you are in the wrong department?...like maybe "pants on the ground" department. Oh, and by the way......I agree with you......we are all different....me in particular...ha ha ha!! C'mon folks......I am guilty too, but this is a site to keep us in touch with one another....not one to preach or taddle or complain.........uh, by the way, have you heard about......? haaaaaaaaaaa!! Lynell, forgive us for making you work overtime to make sure all us little boys and girls are behaving.
Comments: I know I'm a visitor here so I'll try to be kind. I honestly don't see where anyone said liberal thinking is unpatriotic! What I see is differing pints of view from several participants...who knows who is really "right" nor "wrong"...we simply see things differently...it's called diversified thinking. If Ms. Jimenez wants to throw a fit and leave that is her privilege. There will always be one or two folks who want to shut down the freedom of others to "think outloud" and they shouldn't be allowed to keep the rest of the forum from actively engaging in lively debate. That in itself is narrow minded and even more reason for others not to participate. It has been proven over and over on the SOC '62 site, folks who take their toys and go home, usually return.
Comments: Linda J., I hope you reconsider your decision to not revisit this great site. I wish we'd see more of you, not less. It isn't ALWAYS about "politics" here on the guestbook. And of course there will forever be differences of opinion from everything to movies, news events, fashion (my too long cargo shorts) and, yes, even political platforms. But all in all, most of us have quite a bit in common.
Comments: And that, my friends, is why a high school website is not the best place to air one's political views. One of my favorite teachers at SOC was Mrs. Still, civics teacher. Her full name was Rae Files Still. She served in the Texas Legislature as a State Representative from Ennis. I tried to find out what Mrs. Still's party affiliation was, but the extensive files of the Dallas Morning News archives were no help. The many articles about her mention repeatedly that she supported educational bills. There's no (D) or (R) beside her name. Imagine what a different country we would live in today without party divisiveness. Mrs. Still used to say this country is too strong to be overtaken by a foreign enemy, but that it will one day fall from within. We were forced to buy a paperback book about Communism. It cost me fifty cents that otherwise could have been spent on Mad magazine. That's the only thing I recall from her half-semester class -- that, and she walked with one Canadian crutch because she had a bad hip. At least medicine has come a long way since then.
Comments: It is so amazing to me that the people who spent this country into debt when we were out of it and the people who continue to say that liberal thinking people are not patriotic and do not love this country will try to use crybaby tactics saying that liberals are ruining the country and that they are calling conservative people names. It is also amazing to me that people have no other purpose in life than spreading conservative propaganda, but it is obvious that is the only reason that some people put anything on this website. Therefore, I will be removing this website from my favorite's list and will not be back.

History can repeat itself...maybe some of our classmates should visit the Holocaust Museum...where one can see with his/her own eyes, a bar of soap made from human flesh...a Hitler mentality is born everyday...and only by the grace of God can they be defeated...Brave and Godly men, doing as they are called to do! It's not about fear mongering or racism, it's about what is real, what HAS happened and what CAN happen to those who choose to deny the truth! For those who dispute it, they have no defense if it should ever happen! Otherwise, they can thank those of us who are willing to deal with the truth!

Comments: Actually Ginger, we should ALL still be learning...that's ALL...but thanks for the thumbs up! Just because the USSR doesn't exist doesn't mean that the future of our country isn't threatened by those who want to sell our us down the river. Accountability is key! Spending beyond your means is a shameful way to solve problems...but that's what our govenment calls a "solution" to almost every ill in our society. You shouldn't think for one minute that our government doesn't have to power to take away our liberties that were hard fought through the sacrifice of others. They will do it one day at a time as they are aggressively doing at the moment if we become passive! They are corrupt, Ginger! On both sides...so we can go to our "happy place" on a mountain top or we can confront the truth. It's just a matter of choice! No argument...that's just how it is!

Comments: Well, jump back Jack, there's that "R" word again, used against Conservatives, or someone differing with the Liberal Progressive view. None of the labels help in a discussion. Our derelict media do not help either. Wish we could vote them out with some of the current bunch of crooks in DC. They are spending our beautiful country into oblivion. Grrrrrrrrrr. Maybe we should all start learning Mandarin since we owe our souls to the Chinese.
Comments: There is no USSR..now. There is no big threat of Communism.. It is the conservative's way of planting 'fear' in the hearts of men and women.. The Secession of States in the Civil War was driven by a ' Testosterone-bunch' of men...saying, "Why, they can't tell us what to do, we'll just secede from the Union!".. Anger, Hatred and Racism... Stop labeling the 'other' side as Marxists, Communists, Socialists....because they differ from your opinion... Comments: Martha, Several years ago my husband was subpoenaed to be a witness in The United States vs. The Republic of Texas trial. The judge ruled in that case that it was illegal for the people to succeed from the United States, although the defendants seemed to think they had a right to do so according to the Texas constitution. They all received prison sentences (like twenty years) except for one young man. As for Texas succeeding from the Union, I have heard so many commentators outside of Texas saying they wish we would, since our state receives back more tax dollars than we put in. Sam, you are sounding a little like Senator Joe McCarthy.
Comments: Martha, any talk of secession needs to be viewed as a benchmark for how frustrated people are with the current administration. Since electing Obama, this country has been in a freefall from freedom, and people keep looking at all ways within reason to stop it. I doubt that those people discussing it over dinner with you really want sesession, but their frustration with government is huge, and they say things they'd otherwise not say. We don't really want to be the anarchists I've seen mentioned here, but the vast majority want to continue to enjoy the freedoms we've had all our lives, and this administration wants differently. So, they're rushing headlong with a whirlwind socialist agenda, knowing that they have a narrow window of time before the next elections, and conservatives are desperately trying to stop the socialist freight train...including sesession talk. These are stressful times, much of it imposed on purpose, I think, but I believe basic American values will win out at the end of the day, and the far left liberals, communists, Marxists and socialists and their treason will be exposed. Keep the phone number for me of those sesessionists just in case I'm wrong because I'm like most Americans and won't live in a socialist country.
Comments: This is all getting out of hand. I had dinner tonight with community leaders, including a former judge, all very conservative, and seceding from the US came up as a very favorable topic. I can't believe we have come to this point. We do need to pull our nation back together or we will not have one.
Comments: John, Thanks for the correction. I heard on the radio today that Barton was given $1.4 million by BP for his political campaigns. Sam, I have never said that I was a Socialists. I just tried to explain Socialism to you.

Your mind and body...might totally relax and you could stop thinking about Joe, Barry, Rachel, etc. You might see that you have a life beyond....worrying about whether the country is going to the dogs...
