Comments: Thank you, John. It’s a sad task to add another name to our memorial page. I hope Lana had a good time at SOC. It must have been difficult for a kid who grew up in another city (Sherman) and came to our neighborhood as a teen. 2020 was a doozie.
Comments: Regarding Lana Sisemore (Baccus), she had a brother about 3 years ahead of us at SOC and a younger sister Barbara 2 years behind us at SOC. Vic died in 2007 and his obituary confirms that he graduated from South Oak Cliff High School. Also it makes reference to his sister Lana Baccus and sister Barbara. So that is definitely OUR Lana Sisemore who passed away on 12/23/20.

Comments: Wishing all a Happy New Year. At midnight I will fire two 12ga rounds into the backside of 2020. Ok, it just a thought because truth be known I will be asleep at midnight. Someone ask where Clyde Aicklen is. Last I heard he lives in Maryland. Sorry to hear about all of you or your loved ones dealing with cancer. My dance with it was in 2018 and now my wife is finishing chemo, Jan 4th last treatment, to be followed with 4 weeks, 5 days a week radiation treatment. I read someplace that when you are in your 20's up until 50 you think you are invincible and then at some time in your 50's, maybe 60's, the check engine light comes on. Not to far from the truth. Hoping 2021 highway of life has no speed bumps!
Comments: Happy New Year, Class of ‘63! I am grateful for each of you. We are fortunate to have survived all that we have survived. DISD gave us a good basic education! We are a tough little crew. God bless us, one and all!

Comments: Lynell: I believe you are correct about Lana Sisemore. Hope everyone had a good Christmas. For the first time, I was absolutely alone, didn't put up a tree or any decorations, and it didn't bother me a bit. I haven't turned into a Grinch, just entirely too much going on. I hope that the new year will be better for everyone.

Comments: Yumpin' Yiminy, it's Christmas already! No snow in The Woodlands (per usual). Dru and I will be spending the day with her son Ken and grandson Reid. Hope all of you are settling in for a fine day with family or friends. I received two phone calls this week from old classmates Charlie Howarth and Barry Gibbs. Charlie moved from Colorado to New Braunfels, TX two years ago. He and Pat recently built a new home and are slowly getting situated. Their two grand children live about 13 miles away. We talked of the old days and laughed about me not making the Zumwalt basketball team. (well, HE laughed.) Barry and wife Joan are still in South Lake with their two Yorkies ("Raider" and I forget the other mutt's name). Barry has had a rough year healthwise. He told me that last Friday he began a series of "chemo" treatments. He is being treated for something called Waldenstrom Lymphoma. Barry was upbeat about it all and hoping for a good outcome by Spring. Dru and I are rocking along. She has recovered well from last year's colon cancer ordeal and is back to painting and redecorating our home. I'm still chasing "treasure" with my metal detector and feeling pretty good, all things considered. That's about it. Merry Christmas to all my SOC (Zumwalt & Russell) buddies!
Comments: Hi everybody! It has been quite a few years since I posted here, but something was mentioned on our church zoom session this morning that made me think of all of you. Donna and I are doing well and still living in Arlington. We have managed to survive the pandamnic by staying mostly under house arrest since March. Have a Merry Christmas folks and a very Happy 2021! Happiness will be 2020 in our rear view mirrors.
Comments: Thanks, Glen, for reminding me of Clyde and his hard contacts. They were forever popping out and flying across the room. Clyde was some kind of savant. He could spot one at 15 paces, lick it and slap it back in his eye. Kids were tougher then!

Comments: Hello Charlotte, Lynell, Judy and all. I remember you all and more. I looked at the sites for other years also today. It's nice to be retired and have time to look up old friends or should I say friends from years before. Some SOC guys joined Sigma Chi at ETSU and we continued our friendship there. Clyde Aicklin, Wayne Barham, Charles Montgomery, George Peterman, Pete Leonard, Bill Braswell, and others. Recently, about a few years ago, I had a nice day with Burl Hintz and Ronnie Jennings at a SOC mexican food luncheon. It was really great to see those two guys, great friends to me. The best. I've seen some pictures of Larry Perry at SOC events. We played on opposite ends during his senior year, a great player. I loved seeing Pat Rogers and Jeff Bryant, Jerry Shelby, and many others too. I've told my wife Kathryn how much i enjoyed football at SOC. It was always important to me to take the blows without complaining, and some were pretty good ones! I enjoyed trying my best. I caught the first pass Wayne Barham threw in competition on the A team. We were good friends in college. I have lost touch with him. Gary Strez was a good friend too and i'm sad to hear of his passing. I know he was very successful in business. Not too long ago I ran into Tim Freeman at a luncheon honoring our Coach Charles Hodge. Tim has grown into a mighty man. James Poston was there also. I remember him from SOC but also Fernwood Baptist Church, his parents were great members too. Kathryn and I wish all the SOCites a spirit filled Christmas, nothing is better. Glen

Comments: Hello! This is Glen and Kathryn still loving each other in Garland. We have been married 36 happy years. We've been retired for 10 years plus. Have 11 grandkids and 1 great grandson. I enjoy reading westerns and watching TV shows about America. I have read several books about Texas History and the early pioneers. I miss my old friends from Lisbon, Zumwalt and SOC. I still have a picture of the 1959 team. Robert Pettit was the tallest in those days. GW was #44, Jerry Franklin, Ikey, Fitz, Scotty, Ray, Ronnie Salter, Tim Freeman, Wayne Barham, everyone was great, good memories. We hosted a get together several years ago and my friend Barney came also. Ken and Beverly were here along with Mary and Peaches and Celi. At my age it's good to have so many pleasant friends.
