Comments: Way to go Charlotte and Sam, I totally agree, and I, too, have LEGAL Mexican American family members. Our country needs to wake up before it is too late.
Comments: The reason that they don't file for income tax refunds, Kathleen, is because they don't file income tax forms, because the SS# is bogus. If you can't confirm the income, or who the person is, then the basis for a conclusion that they put in more than they take out is absolutely bogus. We're spending over $11,000 per child per year for education. Just one child being educated who has illegal parents, who probably don't pay taxes, will tilt that report right over the edge. Oh yeah, I forgot about free hospital care, etc, etc. I have an issue with even accounting for how many illegals there are. I think the government says about 11 million. If they know that, then deport them. You failed to mention, Kathleen that the supposed U. S. Chamber report is predicated on a study of people breaking federal law. I just saw a report where ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) is now saying they probably won't deport illegals turned over to them by the State of Arizona under its new law. Take a deep breath folks......and comprehend how outrageous this administration is, how incompetent they are, and remember you were promised CHANGE. You got it!
Comments: Agreed Betty and Sara AND hi to both of you . C'mon.......the Chamber of Commerce of where...California? haaaaaaa!! I guess that includes Food stamps, free school, free breakfast and lunch, after school programs, bilingual class, free ER, Medicaid etc etc etc. Tell that to Arizona! One little minor detail.......they don't pay IN to the system either. I hope you can see the danger of our open border....not just the drain on YOUR tax money. I also have LEGAL Mexican American family members so don't go there with me either!
Comments: Hey, Betty, how are you? I thought maybe I had awakened in Cancun when I turned on the tv and saw El Presidente lecturing about the American immigration law. Alas, he was standing before the dunderheads in our own Congress, and some of those Congress critters stood up and clapped. Unreal. Thank goodness for You Tube, so that voters can see history happening and remember that when they go to the polls.
Comments: Regarding entitlements and illegal immigration; Studies by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce found that illegal immigrants put more into the economy than they take out. One reason is that they don't file for income tax refunds.
Comments: May as well put myself out there today. Also posted on '62 site. I cannot believe all this. We need to awaken from our slumber. Let's see now...in a 30-minute time frame yesterday I heard a foreign leader speak against our country and its leaders WHILE IN our country addressing its leaders...a young boy was scolded and dismissed from school for wearing Rosary beads in honor of deceased relatives WHILE OTHERS at the school wore bandanas and gang-related items...a home-grown terrorist LIVING IN the U.S. has been funneling money out of the U.S to aid terrorism in the U.S., but sympathy is given by most news channels because of problems he's had in his life!(give me a break) He wasn't scolded or dismissed from anything that I know of. GOOD GRIEF. How can anyone think this is coming from sound minds who give themselves daily for the good of the people?!?!? And how could our Congress applaud a leader from Mexico as he reprimands our citizens when he/they know full well what happens to illegals in their country who disobey their laws? Like Prison, or worse!! At this point, venting seems the Christian thing to do. BTW: I have Mexican/American relatives. Don't go there. ![]()
Comments: If you lived in AZ or TX the illegals would matter and you would have an argument AGAINST this "open bond border attitude".........I just saw photos of the "Sanoran Desert Mexican Illegal's trail" crossing into AZ and it is appalling. There was so much trash, feces and thousands of diapers, back packs ...you name it... in the gully. No wonder the Mexican President wants to keep 'em coming............he wants them all out of Mexico and into our entitlement programs. How safe is it that a person can sneak into the US using these trails? Can you say September 11, terrorist, enemy or PROTECTION Mr. President?
Comments: Obama said yesterday, with regards to Mexico, that "borders don't matter, bonds do". Would those be Treasury Bonds, Mr. President, or what? (sarc) Borders do matter. Securing them to protect one's citizens is the most basic responsibility of a government. If you have any problem with the concept, Mr. President, ask the State of Arizona. They've given up on you, and realize it's their responsibility to their citizens to secure the borders.
Comments: Every politician we have had in Washington and Austin has stayed away from the immigration "thingy" for the last 40 or so years, which is one reason there are such issues today.
Comments: There are more crazies on the extreme right and on the extreme left.. I've stayed out of the Immigration Law thingy...Tommy Barr (FB) says the Arizona Law parallels the Federal Law also the Texas Law... I have no argument either way. People get too angry over everything nowadays.. You might expel your anger by helping with the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.. Or get the 'crazies' off of the Texas' textbook committee.. I'm a firm believer in the separation of church and state.. Those 'crazies' are violating that.. Why do extreme right get so angry... ? High blood pressure is coming..! You might try meditation and Yoga... Nothing out of a bottle (alcohol or pills) is going to help...Find a little peace...
Comments: There are crazies IN THE MIDDLE, IN THE MIDDLE!! haaaaaaaaaaa!! Sam, I saw that bit on the news.........what in the world is happening? sheesh! I sure hope voters are paying attention! This is insane!
Comments: The only thing dumber than allowing a foreign leader to speak before the U. S. Congress and berate the Arizona Immigration Law, or any of our laws, is half the Congress standing up and applauding. This administration is such a bunch of radical amateurs that they're laughable. Where do I vote??? Is that the MIDDLE you're talking of Ginger, half standing and half not? That balances out, that makes it in the middle, doesn't it?
Comments: In the Middle, Sam...In the Middle...! There are 'crazies' on both sides...
Comments: Ginger, how can I say nicely to get a grip! Geez, right now the world is not operating in your comfort zone, IN THE MIDDLE. Jack is concerned with what his granddaughter is being taught in school in Illinois. That progressive curriculum is what these "crazies", as you call them, are addressing in Austin with the textbook hearings right now. Your "can't we all be friends" concept isn't working too well Ginger. PS: continue to boycott Austin while it boycotts Arizona.
Comments: Jack...sounds 'extreme' to me... Extreme Right...Extreme Left...both are frustrating.. Stay near the 'middle'. Stay in the Truth...and that is hard.. The 'Truth' changes a lot..on any subject... Trust in your self..Stay informed...what else can I say...?
Comments: Re; wackos in public schools. My granddaughter is in Peoria, IL. The school has brainwashed her young mind. A few examples; anybody who has a car is bad, people who use air conditioners are bad, people who use a gas lawn mowers are bad. These people are killing the planet. It is OK to use heating oil to heat your house. They have this kid scared that by the time she is able to vote the earth will be dead. So much for the liberals being in charge.
Comments: What a safe discussion...! Talking about 'space'.
Comments: AND I have the right-sized mouth for 2,000 feet.
Comments: Jud, your house sounds cozy. Your utility bills must be quite reasonable.
Comments: Wow, Lynell! I'm envious...I only have two feet to run around in. Remind me not to get in a race with you! Luckily, I have the right size mouth to accomodate 2 feet. How do you manage?
Comments: Well....JS, you set the record straight..! I was off several dollars.. The Associated Press is so much better than me at gathering 'info'. No 'hearsay' on Tenn. former governor, Ray Blanton.. A journalist lost his life in that scandal, and Blanton's secretary ran off to Florida..Her name was Marie..There was a book about that scandal.. Lynell...people in high places get 'carried away' with power... Sounds like it with Rick.. As I said, Life is Never Boring..! ( Jud...What's with the 3 questions..now..?)
Comments: I have over 2,000 feet to roam in, and I'm not the governor.
Comments: Why am I not surprised that the media jumped on this Governor's "MANSION?" thing? AND to think Pres Obama spent more than $350K to take his wife on a date for one night in NY! hmmmmmmmmm! I wonder how much it costs the tax payers to house and run the White House? Puleeez!
Comments: If only Gov. Perry were in a mere $300k home. He has spent the past two years in a $1.8 million home sitting on 3 acres on the west side of town. Rent and utilities are over $10,000 per month. He has over 6,000 sq. ft. to roam around in. All at taxpayers expense of over $300,000 each year. Even Farouk Shami is jealous of Rick's digs. http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5gRb_e0itjvkGwX_y4WQLlTp76n_gD9FOGROO5
Comments: Everybody leave Cuz alone for a while. He's working on answers to Jud's three questions. If you need any help Johnny, just call me! I think Ginger was referring to the lot value of your prop, John, not the Guv's house. Fire or no fire, we're not gonna park the Guv in a $300K house. This is Texas, except for Austin, which is being boycotted for boycotting Arizona.
Comments: Or, are you still gay? Is your spouse still fat? Do you still cheat on your taxes? Sam, on target...as usual. (and no, John... Those 3 questions did not make me think of Sam...at least, not consciously)
Comments: Hearsay is like my fave legal question, "Do you still drink out of the dog's bowl?"
Comments: Gov. Perry is in the $300K house while the Governor's Mansion is restored following the fire a few years ago. My guess is that the mansion is worth a bit more than $300. And, I've never heard anything about him with another man.
Comments: These textbook people are appointed by the Governor.. Now is this the same governor that I saw the political cartoon..about...? Sitting in his swimming pool at the rented/leased $300,000. home the taxpayers of Texas are paying for...(dangling participle..).? Is this the same governor that I heard had a 'rendezvous' with another man..? Craig Ferguson did a little routine on those ultra-conservatives that get caught and for some reason they don't think they are going to get caught...! Phil Bredeson is not 'originally' from Tenn.. Ohio..I think.. He's the governor ..going out.. I like him..I liked him when he was mayor of Nashville.. A little more impressive than most of our local-yocals.. He's very rich but Democrat and hasn't been caught doing anything naughty...Tenn. has had one governor..go to jail since I've lived here.. That was Ray Blanton...1970. He was a 'doozy'.. Democrat, too..
Comments: When I was in h.s., I had a date with a North Texas fellow who had groovy blue lights like that under his dash. I had learned from reading Cosmopolitan Magazine that the word college was uncool, and that one said school instead. I said, "What classes are you taking in school?" He replied, "I don't go to SCHOOL, <you bozo> I go to COLLEGE." Never heard from him after that one date. So much for my dating tips. The lights were, however, cool. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
