Comments: Awright, Ms. Boop. I think you should set one up for us in June. Try the El Fenix downtown where Wanda Liford once did one. They are very Old-People friendly. Just a suggestion. See if they'll do separate checks, and tell 'em we're a patient, non-bitching crowd. Uh-oh. I just cussed in front of a minister. I apologize, Betty. BTW, I told David he had no clue what it meant to have a former Deb Captain share a chair with him. But he's still talking about the time he danced with a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader. (Heads up, Mary.) I married a patient Hillcrest boy who thinks it's wonderful that I was in the ice skating club. What a man! I hope Dru will be up to the next SOC. Betty's brother, our own BeeGee, mentioned Dru's knee pain. Darlin' Dru, get this FIXED so you can come to these and make sure we don't all talk about John-John. Special thanks to Martha, Mary, Bobby, Rhonda and all others who came from afar to join in today. You guys are what makes us US. ![]()
Comments: I agree, Lynell. A great luncheon. Danny Willard did a fine job organizing. I believe I overheard that July will be our next gathering. Gosh, I wish we'd have another in June. Nice seeing my brother, Barry, again. And yes, we missed John and Dru. Bye.
Comments: Hey, Lynell, believe me when I say Dru and I hated to miss this one. Steaks, lakes, and old friends ... what could be better?
Comments: What a great SOC luncheon! There were at least a zillion people there, inside and on the patio. We were lakeside on a very breezy afternoon. My apologies to the waitress I hugged, thinking she was Danny and Sue Green's daughter. Thank you, Danny Willard and Peaches! John and Dru, you were missed. ![]()
Comments: I thought I put a reply to the John' Miata...thingy..Can't find it.. Maybe I sent it as an email to somebody...?? Oh no...! This may be the beginning of 'dementia'....!
Comments: Those of you coming to the luncheon tomorrow please be sure and wish Rodger a happy happy birthday. Cards would be nice also.
Comments: Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday Dear Rodger Davis on May 1st, happy birthday to you and mannnnnny more!!!!!!
Comments: Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday Dear Bill Akins on the 28th, happy late birthday to you and mannnnnny more!!!!!!
Comments: Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday Dear Mike Young on the 22nd, happy late birthday to you and mannnnnny more!!!!!!
Comments: Tomorrow won't be the same without John and Dru. And, I have a confession to make. I did a little touch up on the picture of John's cave-it really doesn't look that bad. In fact, it's pretty nice. He has a nice view out the window overlooking the estate grounds and he can keep an eye on the gardener and on the chauffeur washing the Miata. Speaking of the Miata, I finally got to see the pinstriping, the dice valve caps and the neon lighting under the dash. I think Johnny has spent a little too much time watching "Pimp My Ride"
Comments: Oh Gosh, John!............Dru is suffering again????? Poor dear! Tell her I am thinking of her and wish her a speedy and non invasive solution to her knee problem!!!
Comments: To my SOC buddies who will be attending the Lake Ray Hubbard luncheon, I must announce that Dru and I will be unable to attend and hear your tall stories. Dru has re-injured her right knee and looks to be headed toward surgery. We will know more after next Monday. She got a steriod shot in the knee late yesterday and needs to stay off her feet until we can see the "knee replacement specialist" on Monday afternoon. Dang, I hate to miss it.
Comments: Must have been a 'great sacrifice' to give all this up for Lent....!!! What a 'Saint' JS is......! Let's see...'St. JS, Saint John...' Hmmmmmm.......
Comments: Here is a picture of Johnny's cave after an especially stressful day!
Comments: Jud, it's only money. Easy come, easy go. Have a fine time at this joyous event. Barry, thank you for the vicarious tour of the mystery Man Cave of The Woodlands. Too bad you missed out on the visit to Farouk. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone Saturday at the luncheon.
Comments: I finally got to see the cave where Johnny spends all his time on the Internet. Two computers and a live stock ticker feed. No windows, one small door and mood lighting. The door has a small opening where Dru can slide in a tray of food and water. Some would call Johnny's love of the Internet an addiction, but it's more like a long-term illness. I did get Johnny outside long enough for a quick lunch (which he graciously paid for!). I think I disappointed him when I declined to take a side trip to visit Farouk. On a more positive note, Dru is a very talented artist. I am always jealous of those with talent, since I have none. They have a very nice and warm home and I enjoyed the tour of the grounds. Even with the cave, I really had a nice visit. Thanks John and Dru.
Comments: On our way to Atlanta for Adam's (my son) wedding on Saturday. Can't wait to write the check for the rehearsal dinner for over 150 people!! But we love our soon-to-be daughter-in-law, and her family. So we're looking forward to a great time.
Comments: Sam, today I actually tried to take Barry on a little tour to see Farouk Shami's giant home, but Barry was pressed for time. I'll bet Farouk wouldn't shoot a coyote if he decided to go jogging. Plus the fact that we have "deed restrictions" against the presence of coyotes.
Comments: Yay......Sam's back...! Sam's Back...!
Comments: Well...you're only 65...once... and then...you get.... older.........!
Comments: It appears that Farouk's hair care products are working better on Barry.
Comments: Great shot JS - now I will know who to look for at the luncheon on Saturday. By the way, when did you start wearing glasses?
Comments: We had a nice, but too brief, visit from Barry Gibbs today. He was headed to Houston on some nautical bidness and took a detour to drop by the house. He and I managed a quick lunch at The Black Walnut (one of The Woodlands' little dining gems) then he was back on I-45 bound for the Houston ship channel area. Dru snapped the pic below (I'm the good-lookin' one): http://people.consolidated.net/swsw/barry_gibbs-042810.jpg

Comments: Happy Birthday, William! You can't see me, but trust me...I'm doing the Wave in your honor! And my Happy Hour will be dedicated to you.
Comments: Birthday Greetings to the ever-youthful Bill Akins. Let me know if you have a surplus of birthday cake that needs disposing.
