John, putting some of the names that signed the 63 Den may help round this out.  Some put first and last names, some signed with only first names.  Put some out here and I will look them up and see if we can solve this mystery.  I like challenges like this, sort of putting a puzzle together.

Tanya brings up a good point. I was assuming "Rosemary" was from the Class of '63. But she could just as easily been a member of '64 or '65 and had possession of a 1963 Den.

Rosalie Brotherton from our class?

John, the book may have been from a girl from 65 class who has past away. Rose Mary Caperton.  Just a possibility since we had the 63 Dens too.

I'm trying to solve a small eBay mystery. Today on eBay a 1963 SOC Den is being offered for sale (asking about $35 with shipping from Mansfield, TX). I'm always curious as to how these SOC items make their way to eBay. So I sent a note to the Seller inquiring as to whom the yearbook once belonged. The Seller replied that they were not sure but that the signings in the book would indicate the owner was named "Rosemary". Some of the inscriptions read "Rose" or "Rose Mary" too. So, the mystery is … who might Rosemary be? Any ideas?

I need to contact David Splawn. The church that we grew up in is planning a 100 year anniversary celebration. We need to know where to send David and his sister, Paula's, invitations. If anyone reading this was ever a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, you're invited as well. Just send me a mailing address.

Tanya, so can I! The man knew how to teach.

Lynell, Gary had him as his English teacher and to this day he can repeat the prologue to the Canterbury Tales as he had to memorize it in his class.  Funny how some things our teachers taught us still come to mind.

My brother, Gary, class of '59, called to let me know that T. C. Stone passed away last Saturday.  I'm sure most of you will remember his name even if you hadn't met him.  I'm not sure what year he graduated, but I think he was older than Gary.  Anyway, he was a character and used to visit our house often and my mom thought he was the "nicest" young man.  Gary and I had a lot of laughs over that!

It is with great sadness that I let you know Ann Walker, wife of our Ike Walker (class of 1963), passed on Sunday, 9-29-19 around 5:00 pm.  She was diagnosed with stage 4 bone and lung cancer about 2 months ago. Donna and Keith Fitzpatrick called me this morning. They have been great friends for years and their kids grew up together. All are devastated.  Ike wanted his classmates to know and has given permission for his cell number 469-505-9077 to be posted. Ike and Ann celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary on September 3rd this year. Please call Ike. I know he would like to hear from us.

Lynell, I actually drove by your house this morning and the artificial turf looks great.  Unfortunately, my front yard is a lot bigger, even though I may consider doing something like that.

Forget the request on Bobby Newman, I did moresearch and this Newman was born in 1929, sure wasn’t our Bob. I try to keep up with checking the obits on classmates, thats how we were able to locate Gary Streznik and another from class of 66. Thanks anyway, I always appreciate this classes help in locating our 65ers as well.

I have a question, since we (class of 65) do not have a class site anymore, I ran across an obituary in San Antonio recently that specified a Robert “Bobby” Newman had passed away, born in 1947. I knew Bobby taught in San Antonio and was wondering if he was our classmate. It was short and did not specify. If anyone knows of his passing please email me. I am at least trying to keep a list of our 65 classmates who have passed. I appreciate your help. Thank you.

Sharon, just a suggestion and likely not politically correct, but we had our teeny lawn replaced with artificial turf. It’s green year round, and low maintenance other than the neighbor’s leaves. Next solution is to move to a condo.

Just wanted to tell everyone to have a happy and safe Labor Day weekend.  We are staying inside and watching some football, finally!  Happy B-day to Phyllis.

Also, does anyone know of a good sprinkler company.  Steve and I are too crippled to do yard work anymore and I don't want my grass to die!

I definitely recall Becky Estes. A sweet classmate, indeed. I notice her Facebook page is still up (listed as "Becky Hollis"). Has a few pictures of her and the family.

Back in 1955 at Clinton P. Russell I shared the stage with Becky in a presentation during National Education Week. Also, on that stage were the likes of Bill Akins, Sara Fogleman, Clint Austin, Celi Lowrance, Mary McCord, Fred Robinson and about 15 others. The "emcee", who shall remain nameless, (MMM) did a decent job and this specific production was surely the springboard that launched his future "cowboy" career.

It is with a heavy heart that I am sharing the passing of Rebecca (Becky) Estes Hollis.  After many months of trying to contact her, I talked to a friend of her brother's today.  Becky left us on  September 13, 2018 in Arvado, Colorado following a short stay in the hospital due to an vehicle accident.  Becky was a wonderful and uplifting friend and she will be missed.
