Comments: I took Rodger home home finally on Wednesday. He has been diagnosed with COPD (never a smoker) and is on oxygen. He has an appointment Monday with his pulmonary doctor and we will see what is next Thanks for asking.
Comments: Peaches, how is Roger doing now? I am hoping he is improving.
Comments: Barry.....i know you’re not a blueberry. Sorry. 🤪
Comments: Thank you Peaches AGAIN for a job well done. It was fun seeing and catching up with classmates. Since i was only there one evening, i didn't get around to everyone there...hope to next time if i am still on this earh. Berry, of course we are friendly. We’re Oak Cliff kids. ;-)
Comments: I would also like to say that Peaches and the Reunion Committee did an outstanding job, as they always do!!! If it weren't for them, I don't think we would still be having reunions. It was wonderful to see everyone again!!!!!
Comments: Joan and I also had a great time. The conversation was good and the dinner was the best hotel food I have ever had. Thanks to Peaches and all the others who make these events happen. Joan commented that our class is much friendlier than her Class of 1965 at Paschall HS in Ft Worth. Looking forward to the next one!
Comments: NAncy and I had a great weekend at the OMNI. We met new friends and got reacquainted with former friends. WE didn't get around to everyone so hang in there till we meet again. Food and Saturday evening was such fun. Peaches thank you for all the memories! Dan and Nancy
Comments: The reunion was wonderful. Got to talk to some classmates that I never talked with before. And, got to renew friendships with ones who haven't been to a reunion in a while. Hope we are still kicking around for the 60th!

Comments: Thank you for posting Anna's obituary. I remember her. Sweet girl, a little shy. It sounds like she had a nice life. May she rest in eternal peace, and may her loved ones be comforted by precious memories.
Comments: Ironically, today I acquired a new Facebook friend and lost a classmate. Shirley Morris (class of '67) and I connected today. To my surprise she mentioned she is the younger sister of Anna Morris of our class. To my greater surprise she went on to tell me that Anna passed away in April of 2017 near Mineola. Here is a link to the obituary for Anna Ruth Morris Ralph: https://obittree.com/obituary/us/texas/alba/wilson-bartley-funeral-home/anna-ralph/2905448/
Comments: Hello fellow ole bears. Looking forward to seeing yall at the reunion in October. Friends forever! Larry Mitchell
Comments: Just wanted to inform any veterans on this site about a scam that is going on, seems real and regarding caretaker services account when you need it. The man came by yesterday, said he was not from the VA, he was Vice President of Sales, regarding helping veterans get set up faster to receive your benefits if you have served in WWI, WWII, Viet Nam for at least 1 year. These benefits would be eligible for the spouse as well. For $500, they will do all the paper work, help you set up another account "care taker account" at your bank. That is where your benefits would go, i.e. 1400. and up depending on your need. They bypass the VA (first clue) to do this and supposedly get all the paper work done by their own attorneys. All you have to do is provide them with information i.e. your discharge papers, marriage license, SS, etc. Hospital expenses. Sounds like a deal for those vets that may need extra money, yet after he left, I contacted my daughter in law who works in Fraud Division of Bank of America and she stated this is the #1 Fraud case going on right now and not to allow them any information on you. They get you to open the account, you put your SS check in there, and use a debit card (they give you) to pay your bills. What they do not tell you is they have access to the account too and they can strip you dry of everything you have, plus they have your private information. I am glad I checked with her, as these scams seem to be hitting everywhere, just made me sick they were targeting Veterans. It's called Pension for Vets, a mailer they send out and you give them a call. All looks like the up and up, but IT IS NOT. Please be aware. This guy was from Plano, Texas, Brandon Robinson, if that was his real name. Just sending you a warning about these bad scams trying to hit us at this age group right now. Hope this helps someone. Tanya
Comments: Peaches, I've sent an email to Mark George. Thanks for the heads up.
Comments: I am checking on which classmate would want this. This is not for our class period. However, I am checking with someone the year behind us at Zumwalt.
Comments: I was recently given a picture of the 1960 Zumwalt city champions football team by a SOC 57 grad. I thought I would share it with your class. Where can I send it? Thanks, Mark George "SOC 61"
Comments: This was sent to me by Joe Vining and asked that it be posted. Coach Warren was a science teacher, football and baseball coach at Boude Storey JHS. He was the primary 8th grade b-ball coach and assisted Coach Bill Grounds with the 9th grade team. I was able to reconnect with him through his son Landy here in Round Rock. Please pass this along. Thanks, Joe Vining
Comments: Thanks, Charlotte. I do need y'all to send in your commitment so I make sure we have a large enough ballroom. I do not want to lose that space but as of now we only need a small area. I know we will lots more but you guys are moving very slowly. It is difficult to make plans not knowing how many are coming.
Comments: Hi everyone, I’ve been missing in action from the guest book. Glad to see some of you lerkers have responded to Peaches. The best way to respond is to send in your reservation $ and form. Oh you know that. I must admit, I’m beginning to feel every bit as old as we are. Did i ever think i would be old? I guess as i graduated from SOC and went off to college, i never thought about it. Life was grand. I met my husband and began a new life as an adult...uh at least in age. Ha. But, that is youth...”who me? Old? No way. And now here i am...still perking along, but feeling every mile. Ha. I really hope y’all will make every effort to come to our 55th. If im still here on this earth, i will be there anxious to see old friends and classmates. It’s a good thing we wear nametags....thankfully, i have had my cataract surgery so MAYBE i will be able to read them. HA
Comments: Thank you, Tanya, Gary and Robert for the birthday wishes! |
