Well, Brenda Brown, I am apologizing to the hundreds of girls from South Oak Cliff High School who missed out on the opportunity to date me.......okay, maybe not.
How about this:

I'm sorry, so sorry
Please accept my apology
But love is blind, and I was too blind to see
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh, yes.

Brenda Lee......1960

Just a note to say you and your mother are in our prayers.  We ask God's special blessings for strength and grace and His Healing Hands.
We thank you again for a wonderful time at the luncheon.  It was great to see everyone.  Hughie was very glad we came.  He said that your home was beautiful and you and the hostesses did a fantastic job!

Please start praying now. My mother, Loraine, is having a procedure to insert a peg tube (feeding tube) in her stomach this morning at 11:30 am. The stroke has caused swallowing probelms and she has not been eating enough or getting enough fluids. She will be moved in a few days to Golden Acres for more extensive rehabilitation. She still is not moving her left arm on her own. Please pray for no complications! Thank you all.

I was just over on Facebook reading some comments in the "Oak Cliff Boomers" group and saw one just posted mentioning the death of Jacki Barrett Sandoval's 31 yr. old son, following some recent surgery. This young man is also the nephew of Gail Barrett-Roden (Cl of '64). Funeral details are to be posted on the Laurel Land website tomorrow.

Our prayers go out to the Barrett family.

Getting ready to move my mom from the hospital to C.C. Young Care Center this afternoon for rehab.  Say a little prayer that rehab will do exactly that and she will be able to go to an assisted living facility instead of a LTC.

I must 'speak up' on the 'creative' thingy... I've been engaged in some kind of Spanish, for years. Always wanted to go to Guatemala or Mexico and work on a Masters Degree in Spanish and become 'fluent' in Spanish, too. I couldn't afford that, but taught a lot of 'little kids'...basic Spanish in Kindergarten. I've always said that there are probably several kids in Nashville, that grew up loving Spanish and foreign language..because of that early childhood influence.. I've yet to become 'fluent' in it, but I had 2 teacher friends in Nashville that were missionaries to Bolivia, at one time...that when I broke loose with my 'creative' Spanish, would call it 'Gingerese'.. Hey, whatever...they want to call it...when you can't think of the right tense, etc...you get 'creative'. I don't know if Sr. Arguilles would be proud or not...?  I love Spanish. My mother did too. She was a Spanish and Art Major at UT Arlington, back when it was Arlington State..

         Adios, mis amigos...Ginger/ 'Yinyer'..in Sr. Arguelles'...pronunciation

Um, Doug....not sure I said R F " Let me" get away with a lot ...but yep, you got me on the tinder thing. Hey, but your rebuff wasn't very tender. Mr Ford was a great person.....not so much a great teacher....didn't help me spell did he?? Did you know he and his wife were vaudeville actors before he was a teacher???
Colorado is a "flammable box " (ahem) and most cities will not celebrate the fourth with fire works next week.

Charlotte, you said recently that Ramon Ford let you "get away with a lot." One of the things he let you get away with must have been "creative spelling." Your forest may be a "tender" box, but in Colorado their forests are "tinder" boxes.
    R.I.P.  RAMON FORD

P.S. I used to sing in a group with a guy whose first name was "Tinder".  He was a really kind and helpful guy, and I always thought of him as "tinder-hearted."
