Comments: You are welcome Sharon, happy belated birthday, you share it with my daughter Tricia and Beverly Duvall-Haas from our 65 class. Also, I bet you were thinking Larry Tate instead of Larry Pate that we all knew, he lived around the block from me, went to Adamson and at one time was married to June Wilson of the Wilson twins Larry Tate went to Boude Storey as well. He is still around and kicking, and he and his wife even went on one of the SOC cruises that MK got together.
Comments: Happy Belated Birthday, Phyllis. I was aware that the Mses. Tomlin and Richardson shared our birthday. Adore them both. Our friend, Pat Vessels, has a birthday this Saturday, so Happy Day.
Comments: That's Lily, re-enacting a scene from The Attack of the 20-Foot Kitty.
Comments: And we once had a cat named Lily, for the hilarious Lily Tomlin.
Comments: Happy birthday belatedly to the birthday girls, Sharon and Phyllis! I share a birthday (month and year) with one of my dream men, Rod Stewart, though Ann Richards is certainly a celebrity. Hope you both have a wonderful, healthy year ahead of you.
Comments: Jud, you didn't have me on speed dial? Sharon, I realized after posting that it was not the best idea I had ever had thus the retraction. I guess I missed your birthday too so Happy Belated Birthday.
Comments: Happy Belated Birthday, Sharon! ![]() Saturday was my birthday, too. We also share our day with Lily Tomlin and the late, great, Ann Richards; pretty heady company, no?
Comments: Tanya, thanks for the info on the Pate's. The name sounded so similar I guess I assumed it was them. Martha, I agree with Jud, wow that was quick. Make sure you're not being stalked! Happy late anniversary, Lynell and David. My birthday was Saturday and I did nothing but sit on my chaise and watch football while reading a book. It was great.
Comments: Wow! I guess I missed my opportunity, Martha!
Comments: I have this taken care of now. No roommate needed. Thank you.
Comments: I am thinking about attending the 50th Reunion for Class of 62. Don't have a roommate. Is anyone else thinking about attending and needing a roommate?
Comments: Hope all of you are having a good Labor Day. Did any of you make it to the beach, or someplace fun?
Comments: Thanks Charlotte, I appreciate your prayers. I am glad you were able to get your blood pressure under control.
Comments: gosh, Kathleen! I am so sorry to hear of your problem and your urgent need! I pray for speed and healing. Are the docs encouraging? I just had a dizzy bout and couldnt figure it out and finally realized it is blood pressure related...grrrrrr! Mine was waaaaaaaay too high. I want to FINALLY reach Golden Years....when will it happen????
Comments: Thanks Lynell, I appreciate your comments.
Comments: I hope the transplant happens soon and all goes well.
Comments: Yes, I definitely need a transplant. I hope that will be possible fairly soon.
Comments: Gosh, Cathy, I'm so sorry to hear about your kidney problems. I hope everything works out and you get a transplant, if that's what you need. There's an obscure Jewish prayer for every time one has a bathroom event. It's something like, "Dear God, I'm not sure why this happens, but I thank you for it." There's plenty of wisdom in that. The prayer was written 4,000 or so years ago. It's our anniversary, so we're partyin' down here at Smith Manor. Steaks on the grill, 'tater surprise, and frozen grapes on the side. David even mentioned a trip to Braum's later. 'Tis good to be party animals! This is #43, amazingly. Have a happy and safe long weekend, everyone!
Comments: Sharon, I checked out all the annuals here at our house and could not locate a Larry Pate in any of them going back to 1961. I graduated in 65 and the only girl close to that name was Sharon Paty, who is married to Jackie Allen from our class, so I do not think the two are related.
Comments: It seems all the news relating to our friends lately has been devastating. They are all seriously ill, including myself. I have kidney problems and I feel bad much of the time. I need a kidney transplant, and I hope that will happen within a reasonable period of time. Please pray or me. I realize that some of you are also having problems and I hope that your health will improve. As my eye doctor noted yesterday, "Our golden years are not always so golden."
Comments: I saw in the obits this morning that Larry Pate passed away. Wasn't he in our class? His sister, Sharon, graduated in '65, I believe. Any update on Mary and Jerry? Hope everyone has a very happy and safe Labor Day.
Comments: David's mother was my Sunday School teacher, at one time. Nice family. Very sorry for his loss..
Comments: I was informed today if you go to affoplano.com you can learn read Reane Splawn's obit and learn about her memorial in September. I am so sorry for David and his family.
Comments: I am very sorry for David Splawn's loss. I remember David, and I hope he is comforted by sweet memories.
Comments: Wayne Z just received a call from David Splawn. Renee, his wife died last week. The service will be September 8th at 2:00 - at United Methodist Church in Plano, TX. Wayne did not have any more details. We will try to post more as we find out. Gaylan, you probably have all the details. If you could please post what you know. David and Renee were married for a long time. He needs our prayers.
Comments: I was about to go shopping for a bikini, in case I received an invitation to the islands. Oh, well, air travel's much safer without the glare offa me.
Comments: Kathleen, I'll let you know as soon as I know about it! haaaaa! I guess I've been hassled...I mean hacked!!!
Comments: Charlotte, I just received an email from you inviting me to go on vacation with you to the British Virgin Isles. Can't wait to go. Let me know when your ready to go. LOL
Comments: Gary talked with Mike Young this morning, Mike is doing well from his stent surgery. His granddaughter Emily, who was involved in the car accident is still in ICU at Baylor in Dallas, however, they have removed the C5 vertebrae disk from her neck, spinal cord has not been severed, which is a good thing. It is, however, bruised. She has some feeling in her legs, but cannot yet move them. With a bruising of the spinal cord, she may regain full ability to walk again, but will take a long time of rehabilitation. Right now she has a endotracheal tube down her throat attached to respiratory machine to help her breathe and cannot talk, but can write with pen and paper. As you know she was a cheerleader, the high school class met up at the football field and had a prayer vigil for Emily and all the other kids involved in the accident the other day. Keep praying for Emily as she may not be able to even attend school this coming year due to her injuries, much less cheer at the games and she has not been told of this yet. This young 16 year old has a long way to go, keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
