Today is 911 and the country is mourning the senseless  loss of so many lives.  With 9/11 our country lost it's innocence.  Let us hope that our government will continue to protect us  from terrorists.

Tanya, the alligator dance, really!  I too saw it for the first time at a frat party at NT and thought it was beyond ridiculous, but the guys doing it were drunk and didn't care.

Zoned out watching football yesterday.  Steve called me a traitor because I was rooting for RGIII and the Redskins.  I hope the Cowboys were watching that game.  Also, in the 49'ers/Packers game, loved the look on David Akers face when the football hit the goal post and bounced over for a 63-yard field goal.  I remember when Tom Dempsey hit the first one.

Larry I apologize for getting your last name wrong, after all these years I can barely remember my own.. I remember the time you saved me at one of those North Texas Fraternity parties, telling me "Do not drink anything that is already open, make sure they open that coke in front of you and DO NOT put it down". LOL.   Also, the first time ever I ever saw that Alligator dance!  Thanks Larry Tey for setting me straight!

Have been enjoying this page.  Wondering if there are any talking survivors of Stephen's Johnson Syndrome or Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis Syndrome. Any experiences from friends or family members regarding how and what to expect or where there may be support services for survivors would be very helpful.
I'm celebrating having survived my ordeal and would be available to discuss the disease, or check it out on line.

Peaches,

Peaches,  I didn't know that Jerry Vessels is on dialysis.  I am glad he is doing so well.  I should be having a procedure in the next two weeks on a Thursday to put a capheter in my stomach.  I have had two past procedures in the arm, but my veins so far seemed too small for dialysis.  Anyway, when they go through the stomach they don't use the veins and I can do home dialysis. Thanks to all of you for your prayers.  I pray for Mary everyday. It is wonderful that she has her children around her. Peaches your mother makes a good point about this being our "rusty years".

Talked to Pat Vessels for a long time last night, Jerry was napping. He is holding his own. Dialysis three times a week, has gone from 270 lbs to 193 lbs. His shingles are still very painful! Pat says he looks great. When I saw him about 3 weeks ago he did. Still our positive uplifting Jerry and Pat. Please continue to pray every day for them. I am still praying for that miracle. Also talked to Mary. She starts feeling bad then starts feeling good again. Kent, her son, is home now. His kids, Keri and her kids were all there last night. Keep praying for Mary every day also. Three of my very BEST friends!

Hi Tanya - yes my wife Janis and I are still around and kicking in McKinney, but my last name spelled Tey.  I really enjoy the comments on this website.  Have there been any updates on Jerry Vessels?  I remember Jerry from Boude Storey and North Texas, a really nice guy.

You are welcome Sharon, happy belated birthday, you share it with my daughter Tricia and Beverly Duvall-Haas from our 65 class.  Also, I bet you were thinking Larry Tate instead of Larry Pate that we all knew, he lived around the block from me, went to Adamson and at one time was married to June Wilson of the Wilson twins  Larry Tate went to Boude Storey as well.   He is still around and kicking, and he and his wife even went on one of the SOC cruises that MK got together.

Happy Belated Birthday, Phyllis.  I was aware that the Mses. Tomlin and Richardson shared our birthday.  Adore them both.  Our friend, Pat Vessels, has a birthday this Saturday, so Happy Day.

Happy birthday belatedly to the birthday girls, Sharon and Phyllis!  I share a birthday (month and year) with one of my dream men, Rod Stewart, though Ann Richards is certainly a celebrity.  Hope you both have a wonderful, healthy year ahead of you.

Happy Belated Birthday, Sharon!
Saturday was my birthday, too.  We also share our day with Lily Tomlin and the late, great, Ann Richards; pretty heady company, no?

Tanya, thanks for the info on the Pate's.  The name sounded so similar I guess I assumed it was them.  Martha, I agree with Jud, wow that was quick.  Make sure you're not being stalked!  Happy late anniversary, Lynell and David.  My birthday was Saturday and I did nothing but sit on my chaise and watch football while reading a book.  It was great.

Gosh, Cathy, I'm so sorry to hear about your kidney problems.  I hope everything works out and you get a transplant, if that's what you need.

There's an obscure Jewish prayer for every time one has a bathroom event.  It's something like, "Dear God, I'm not sure why this happens, but I thank you for it."  There's plenty of wisdom in that.  The prayer was written 4,000 or so years ago.

It's our anniversary, so we're partyin' down here at Smith Manor.  Steaks on the grill, 'tater surprise, and frozen grapes on the side.  David even mentioned a trip to Braum's later.  'Tis good to be party animals!  This is #43, amazingly.

Have a happy and safe long weekend, everyone!

Sharon, I checked out all the annuals here at our house and could not locate a Larry Pate in any of them going back to 1961.  I graduated in 65 and the only girl close to that name was Sharon Paty, who is married to Jackie Allen from our class, so I do not think the two are related.

It seems all the news relating to our friends lately has been devastating.  They are all seriously ill, including myself.  I have kidney problems and I feel bad much of the time.  I need a kidney transplant, and I hope that will happen within a reasonable period of time.  Please pray or me. I realize that some of you are also having problems and I hope that your health will improve.  As my eye doctor noted yesterday, "Our golden years are not always so golden."
