Comments: Please excuse my third post in a row, but I seem to be on a roll. If someone elects to stop posting, that is their call, not mine.
Comments: There are people in our class who suffer from serious medical problems who probably don't want to read political stuff on here. Automated messages from candidates call me 20 times a day. Do I answer the phone? Thanks to Caller ID, I don't answer 99% of the calls that come in. I know people who have made millions honestly. None are in politics, and none ask for money. They don't try to cram their policies down my throat. I wish politicians would run on merit and stop polluting my phone, my Internet and my mailbox with their brilliance. Doubt that will happen, and most people will continue to vote a straight ticket. So, please, stop it. If you post political stuff on here, regardless of your beliefs, it won't be deleted by me -- but you will bring down the room. And likely half the people who read it will think you're not very smart.
Comments: Knock it off, please. Nobody is going to win any converts.
Comments: Really..Charlotte.. Chastise Barry for what he did several weeks ago..the rules should apply to everyone... Really.. And I was just speaking the truth... the truth sometimes hurts... Love you anyway...May all your holiday dreams come true... ![]()
Comments: REALLY???? see what I mean about these posts? just can't keep from insulting people when it is about politics....no matter what side one is on.
Comments: Okay...Girls..That would be Charlotte, who pays for this site, and Lynell that does her 'bidding'. It was very obvious when you were screaming at Kathleen. I didn't see you screaming at Barry several weeks back.. In fact you made 'sideways' comments to me about screaming. Char, you would never approach me 'directly'. Kathleen's post was very small and very short..and I've stopped all of the political remarks except to come back at Barry for his remarks and screaming... I'm not one of your 'precious Republican friends' and I'm not endowed with money and in Jud's investment group.. You all want to do that..fine.. In one way or another you impart to the rest of us that Republicans are Superior..! Really tired of that. I do not agree with most of what Barry says... I did not agree with most of what Sam would say.. Both Kathleen and I get 'conservative propaganda' from those two, like they're going to convert us..? I do appreciate that Sam doesn't get on here and 'rage' anymore..but you are still allowing Barry to do so and not coming back on him like you do on Kathleen.. Really girls..equal treatment and equal opportunity. We all graduated and participated in many things at SOC. We are all not going to be called Republicans or Conservatives...any time soon. Since this is a site with all our class's year and school on it. Would you please refrain from letting the Conservative/Republican or 'whatever they are'...bully others. You'all ran off Linda Sargent Jimenez. Please don't do that any more. Show me and all that there is some 'semblance of Humanity'..on this site.. Let me know if you read this, too...Jud. (this post will probably be deleted..I know.) Have a nice weekend... Whomever you support and vote for, in November...
Comments: On a cheerier note: Peaches sent me an e-mail about the next SOC Luncheon. The info is on the Events page -- Lunch at Napoli's in Garland, hosted by Phillis Burnett, SOC '64. Check it out and mark your calendar! Regardless of your politics, these things are always fun -- and remember, food consumed at SOC events has no calories!
Comments: I hope my point is taken. There is NO FREE SPEECH over here dear SOC friends. See what one little post caused???? This is a private club for SOCites and we don't have to let unwanted forums go on here. So if you are reading this...THIS MEANS YOU........We can have it pleasant or not have it at all. Harrumph!!! Heed the warnings of Czarina Lynell!! OK....off the soap box!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HAVE A WONDERFUL AND SAFE MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND AND REMEMBER THE REASON FOR IT!!
Comments: Whew..! Charlotte you're screaming louder than I did when Barry was going on and on.. Made your point, however....
Comments: Please please please please please keep politics off this GB. It causes hard feelings. The purpose of this site is to keep us together, not cause rifts.
Comments: OK, but the same rules should apply to everyone.
Comments: Amen!
Comments: NOW I'M SCREAMING..... WE'VE HAD A VERY GOOD THING GOING UNTIL THIS LAST POST. KEEP IT OVER ON FACE BOOK...PLEASE...I'M BEGGING YOU CLASSMATES... DON'T BRING POLITICS OVER HERE...PLEASE! THIS IS OUR CLASS SOCIAL NETWORKING AND I KNOW, WITH COOPERATION, WE CAN KEEP IT THAT WAY THIS YEAR. THIS IS THE PLACE WE KEEP UP WITH EACH OTHER'S GOINGS ON. WE ALL HAVE OUR OWN OPINIONS ON THE SUBJECT BUT THIS IS NOT THE PLACE TO POST THEM. EVERYONE REMEMBERS THE UNBEARABLE CONSEQUENCES.
Comments: I JUST SAW ON CNN WHERE MITT ROMNEY HAD $77+ MILLION DOLLARS IN THE BANK. IF SO, WHY IS HE ASKING FOR CAMPAIGN CONTRIBUTIONS FROM ME AND DID HE EARN THAT KIND OF MONEY IN AN HONEST WAY?
Comments: Mary looks like she's saying TA-DAAAAAH! Betcha that was her first word.
Comments: Mary, it looks like that photo was taken on my porch. You are all a blessing to me and I am thankful that I was part of the greatest class to ever graduate from SOC!
Comments: Peaches, I am sorry to hear of your loss. You and your family are in my prayers. Mary, you light up our lives and have for years. Your bubbly personality and over all friendliness makes everyone feel a part of the party. You put a smile on our faces. Thank you for all you have given to us over the years. You are in my prayers and those of our church.
Comments: Boy, if Paul Newman wasn't the best-looking man who ever lived, I'm not sure who was. Remember him in The Prize?? Holy Moley!! Mary Irene's knees do look like little hearts. What a cutie.
Comments: I see little hearts on Mary's knees, but of course! In the Health News: Men thinking of cheating on their spouses better think again. "Fox & Friends First" highlighted a new study that shows men who cheat are more likely to suffer from a heart attack. The study finds it is often older men cheating with younger women in different surroundings that suffer the heart attacks. It would be wise to follow actor Paul Newman's advice, "Don’t go out for a hamburger when you’ve got the steak at home. And if you do, make sure you’re taking your Lipitor." You go Paul!!! Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!
Comments: Charlotte, did you notice Mary Irene's knees? She must have been new at walking! Mary, you are just too darling! ![]()
Comments: Oh yeah...that's Mary already directing the choir!! I remember that picture...Goo Goo...haaaaaaaaaa!! She's always had that sense of humor! Peaches, I am so sorry for you and the Walker family. I know you are all very close. All of you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Comments: By the way, that picture of Mary (who looks like she's practicing to direct a choir) came from the 1963 Den. She signed it "Goo goo." Peaches, I'm very sorry about your brother-in-law.
Comments: Peaches, My condolences on the passing of your brother-in-law. God bless you and your family.
Comments: Mary, the thought of how much fun you bring wherever you are always makes me smile. It's so nice to have you say hello! Please know that you're in the thoughts and prayers of all who knew you "back when."
Comments: Greetings to all you wonderful SOCites. I am feeling great, celebrating all our blessings every day. My yard is a miraculous place of peace, beauty and meditation to convalesce, thanks to many of you, my sweet family, school colleagues and church friends. Come see me, any time so we can walk on the Serenity Path through my gardens. Your prayers, cards and support uplift my spirits daily. God Bless us all. Have a laugh on me today. Mary Irene
Comments: Just wanted to say "Hello" to everyone. I will be praying for Mary & everyone. It has been a long five months this year. I didn't qualify at the INDY 500. Guess I'll just watch it on TV again this year. God Bless All of You Lovely People...
Comments: It is with great sadness to say Bobby Lynn Walker, class of 62, my brother-in-law died today at 3:00 pm. He has been battling cancer for over 5 years. He first had lung cancer and it was in remission. Last year he found he had liver cancer. He was married to Cheryl Hawkes Walker, class of 65 for over 46 years. Please be in prayer for my family.
Comments: Peaches...thank you for the update on Mary. I so admire how she has handled her illness. And Sharon...my 18 year old grand daughter has graduated and starting some college courses to be a nurse...my grandson who will be 17 next month will be a senior next year and after living with Barney for 9 years he is alot like him..has to be the clown and adorable..of course I could be prejudice!!Thank you for asking.
Comments: Oh my, Skip. I think that might have been the last time I was in one also. Had to be 30 years ago. Bet it hasn't changed a lot.
Brenda, so glad to see you're back. Are the kids still in school?
Any further news about Mary, Wayne and Jerry?
Comments: I am having a very difficult time regarding our dear Mary Bach McCord who has been so good about sharing where she is with her cancer.....Mary Kay Crowder was asked by Mary to post ......."us approved to post on facebook." I, too, talked with Mary yesterday after she talked with her doctor. She is willing to fight and do everything possible to expand her time with us. She actually directed her school choir Thursday evening (sitting in a chair) and played the piano at church Sunday. She felt very good last weekend. Bedford will come for a visit in June. Mary will not be on chemo during the time Bedford is with her so they can have quality time together. Keep those cards and calls going. She loves to hear from us. |
