Comments: I keep praying that Mary will be alright. I know God will do what is right by her, because she is a precious person who is loved very much.
Comments: All I know is what is on FB...Mary Kay said she talked to Mary's daughter, Kari, and she sounded very worried. Mary Kay said she, Peaches and Celi will get to the hospital as soon as possible. Kari said that would be a good thing.
Comments: Has anyone had any word about Mary today?
Comments: Barry, I went to the Warrior Weekend site and it is very impressive. I wish I could be at the airport to applaud the arrival of the veterans. To be able to thank them there would be so up lifting for me. I do thank you for your participation in this weekend of honoring them. I made my donation today and wish you and the volunteers...there must be many to pull this off.....the best!
Comments: Mary Kay Crowder posted on facebook. I am copying and pasting "Update on Mary McCord Bach . . . ok to post per Mary. She's at St. Lukes Hospital, getting ready to have her port put in, brain surgery scheduled for 10 am tomorrow (Tuesday), will be in ICU probably through Thursday night, will start chemo on Wednesday while in ICU. Peaches, Celi or I will keep you updated. PRAY, PRAY PRAY as Mary undergoes her surgery! She sounds good and so glad all of this is happening so soon after getting her latest test results." I have talked with Mary also and she is very positive (as always). Let us all agree with Mary that this will be successful and the chemo will work.
Comments: Donna and I are definitely down for a fall return to Crockett. Anybody who missed this one should start making plans now! Martha is a great hostess and organizer. I didn't post pictures of James Anthony's "Big Mooning" because it just didn't seem appropriate.
Comments: Cynthia, thanks, and you, too, Bill. The pictures are now linked on the Images page. It looks like everyone had a great time, even Mary while she was kissing that frog. The moon pictures didn't show up well. so I didn't post them. SOCites are THE best!!
Comments: Thanks to Martha once again for a memorable event and all the folks that help to make it that way. My photos are on the way Lynell. You should have them by now including the slumber party early view of the moon from Martha's back yard. It was so nice to meet Jud in person finally and see so many folks drove down from the Dallas area - Harriett from Killeen and our Houston area representatives. Count me in for the Fall - you do not want to miss this a second time so put it on your calendar. Yeah Martha!
Comments: Saturdays luncheon in Crockett was so much fun, was wonderful to visit with everyone. A few of us had an added treat of spending the night at Martha's. We stayed up talking and laughing until almost midnight. Larry Mitchell was our chaperone!!! Felt like we were all back in High School with our cheerleader Mary rooting us on!! Martha is by far the Hostest with the Mostest!!! Thanks for planning the luncheon and for your hospitality!!!!
Comments: Just looked at the pictures from the Crockett luncheon. What a good-looking group! The patio setting looked great, too.
Comments: Thanks to all that came to Crockett Saturday. I enjoyed seeing everyone of you and my friends and the staff thought you were great to make the trip to have a luncheon so far away. We may try it again in early November.
Comments: Bill A. sent some pictures from the luncheon yesterday. What a fine looking group! They're on the Images page. Thank you, Bill!!
Comments:
Dru and I had a fine time in Crockett yesterday. Great food and margaritas at the Spring Creek Country Club, and so much fun visiting with old SOC buddies. Martha Bass Hunt is a wonderful hostess.
Her Spring Creek subdivision is a little jewel tucked away north of town surrounding a beautiful lake.
Comments: Lookie here, bargain hunters: I heard an ad on the radio for TXU customers to sign up for free electricity between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. I called and signed us up for two years, so from now on the pool will run during the night, and I'll turn on the dishwasher as I head off to bed. Our washer has a timer on it, so it can go at 5:00 a.m. Anybody take a picture or two at the luncheon in Crockett? Send them to me, if you'd like them posted on here. Thanks.
Comments: Special Thanks to Martha for hosting such a fun filled luncheon in Crockett. We had a great time and enjoyed seeing everyone.
Comments: The Crockett luncheon was wonderful. Pretty setting, beautiful people. Many thanks to Martha for making all the arrangements.
Comments: Joan and I went to a birthday party today for a lady in our church. She turned 96. She asked her daughter to invite us because, as she said "I know they really like me!" We sit on each side of her at church because she is afraid she will fall. She's outlived 3 husbands and says she will invite us again next year. She is as sharp as a tack and still has a twinkle in her eyes. She gives us all something to shoot for.
Comments: Not shouting. I just have an easier time seeing what I am typing when the type is REALLY BIG.
Comments: Charlotte: Thanks for the donation. This will be the 4th year that my friend and I have taken out soldiers. One year, we didn't get to take out the wounded, but instead, had a photographer from the Pentagon and a retired General. No service academy graduate, he had worked himself up through the ranks. He was a paratrooper that served in virtually every war and conflict since the Korean War and there have been a lot of them. I'm sure he could tell some stories, but he was pretty tight lipped. We'll think about you on Saturday. Thanks again.
Comments: Charlotte, my three year old granddaughter is crazy about the moon. She knows the different phases of the moon and she likes to point them out to me. I am amazed at how smart she is. Tonight the moon is supposed to be spectacular because it is the closest to the earth of any full moon this year. I agree with you my mother in law sacrificed every month for years coming up with the money for her long term care policy. I am sure when she took out the policy the slick salesmen who sold it to her didn't bother to explain the different levels of nursing care. It makes me wonder if all long term care policies are cheating the elderly.
Comments: The moon was so gorgeous, big and bright last night...can it be even prettier tonight? I sure hope so...can't wait. I am going to try to take photos too.
Comments: I hope someone takes pictures at the Crockett luncheon today. Please e-mail them to me, and I'll be happy to post them. Gonna be a big moon for howling tonight! Wish I could make the luncheon.
Comments: Hmmm....who is we? Hope all that are going have a great time today in Crockett...I had my days mixed up.(what's new?)...let us see photos and post about it!
Comments: Yep, Charlotte Mack... We're shouting.. G. ![]()
Comments: Lynell, you are so funny and quick. President Barry will endorse himself...haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
Comments: Sheesh...some of you must think we are really blind with that HUGE font...or are you shouting??? hmmm? Barry, Your project is so wonderful. I can't help with boat or volunteer but I am sending a donation. Yea for you! Sharon, I know what you mean about that phone. I received an Ipad as a gift and I don't "get it"....I wish I liked as much as everyone else does, but I have a lap top and I had rather use it...besides...APPLE won't let you even have Adobe flash player either...I just don't "get it" < the Ipad that is. Interesting story John....I hope you get to find it and open it. Oh my gosh Kathleen...how horrible! And, your M I L thought 30 years ago she had taken care of her future...so sad! How was the luncheon in Crockett today somebody???
Comments: Lynell, you are being a 'Mystery Woman'.. Barry Gibbs..the SOC graduate..not the good looking BeeGee guy.. Barry Gibbs/SOC will have to endorse himself...or maybe he can get Newt to do it.. Ha....! JS can support 'whomever' he wants to support...
Comments: JS, Barry will endorse himself -- or did you mean Barry GIBBS?
Comments: Special shout out to Mr. Southworth: Our house was built in 1976 and is something of a time capsule. Maybe that's what you're looking for.
Comments: Thanks, Phyllis.. I'm with State Farm and I have heard that about Progressive. I'm not leaving State Farm. ATT also supports ALEC..which does not support Liberals.. I'm staying with ATT for now and it's ATT in Central Texas, where I'm headed one of these days.. Gov. Ann Richards said there were corporations that supported her campaign and George Bush'. They gave more money to George, however.. I bet they give money to both sides when it gets closer to election time.. |
