Comments: I live in Senior Apartments and I'm one of the 'younger ones'. I watch all these older people..80's and 90's and I call it a preview of what it's going to be like when 'you're really old'...

It just sunk in that the photo of Barry and Nancy was taken about this time of year ... 50 years ago!!
How can this be? Where did fifty years go? This is a very disturbing revelation.
Comments: I agree with Lynell on both accounts. And John, I have enjoyed all of your posts.
Comments: I personally hope the parents of that little boy continue encourage that behavior because eventually he will be a teen. He seems to already rule the roost. As for the BG-man's raids on JFK cuties -- I don't even know what to say (to quote Betty Draper.)
Comments: Let me apologize for monopolizing the guestbook today but the news keeps rolling in.
Back in the late Spring of 1962, Barry G. hit a dry spell after chasing the Mimbies and Jewells and such that roamed the halls of dear Ol' SOC High. To be frank he'd reached that point in which no girl at SOC would go out with him more than once. So he did what many of us were forced to do ... start poaching girls from the inventory of J.F. Kimball High.
Today my old Kimball girlfriend who shall remain nameless (Suanne) sent me a pic from her dusty archives. She'd arranged a date for my pal Barry with her good friend Nancy Miller. The occassion was the Military Ball at the end of our Jr. year.
I'll have to say, they made a good lookin' couple. For years Barry has denied ever dating anyone from Kimball, but this Kodak moment says otherwise:

SOC offspring makes the news!
Am I the only one who picked up on this story? At a recent Rangers game a couple caught a ball tossed into the stands and it created a crying tantrum with a 3 yr. old seated next to them.
The attractive couple (Shannon Smith Moore & Sean Leonard) were so excited at snagging the ball that they didn't notice the immensely disappointed young lad. As I read the story and saw the faces, something seemed to click in my memory. I'd seen Shannon & Sean on Facebook recently.
Shannon is the striking daughter of Randy Strangi (SOC '64) and will soon be marrying Sean. Small world, indeed.

Dru and I spent the first half of the week at the Lazy S Ranch in Coleman County (west texas). It is a rough 311 acres of rocky land, mesquite, cacti, snakes with rattles etc. Every thing there is designed to bite, scratch, puncture or claw you. SOCites Dale & Yuvonne Smiley (Cl of '66) are the owners.
Dale and I are pictured below riding the range in a tough little car that doesn't seem to mind cactus needles.
Memo to Barry: Just today I received word from Suanne that she has at last located the ancient photographic "proof" of you dating a Kimball girl (Nancy M.). Let me know if she follows thru and emails it along to you.

Comments: Misdemeanors, shmishdemeanors, I say. ![]()
Comments: According to publicdata.com, JS has quite a rap sheet in numerous states. And, JS always has such a quiet demeanor that you would never suspect him. I guess you just never really know about some people. Lynell, you will be glad to know that your record is now clean. at least as far as felonies. I was unable to clear all the misdemeanors.
Comments: Let's see-what am I driving today? Fancy European sports car? Not hardly. It's more like a Chevy 3/4 ton diesel pickup. I save the fancy sports cars for Sunday drives when the weather is nice. Eat your hearts out! JS is the one with the fancy sports car, including undercar lighting and fancy graphics. I think he even has one of those kits that lets you raise the car up and down and make the wheels jump off the ground. I am so envious.......
Comments: Martha, you know Barry's never been pulled over. He drives a fancy foreign sports car.
Comments: Speak for your self, Barry. LOL
Comments: Charlotte: I doubt that any of the rest of us have an arrest record!
Comments: Does anyone else keep getting emails about helping get rid of your arrest record???
Comments: Barry, I thought some of those shows must be regional to NY, because I seem to remember everything I ever saw on TV as a kid. Can't remember anything else, just things like the theme song from Mr. Ed.
Comments: Lynell: Your video is definitely more upbeat than mine. Some of those shows I didn't remember-maybe a regional thing.
Comments: Here's a YouTube video that is sure to take you back a few years: http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=JEfotdZCguk&pop_ads=null I remember most of these, but I prefer the black and white ones. So many TV shows jumped the shark when color came in! Just my opinion.

Comments: I am glad that Wayne is doing better. Charlotte is right we need to listen to what out bodies are telling us. I talked to Valerie Adamson Bannister yesterday and her husband, Don is under going chemo. Valerie has her hands full taking care of Don. Undergoing Chemo is NO picnic.
Comments: Oh my gosh!! Poor Wayne!!! If you come back and read this please tell him I wish him well AND hopw he gets well quickly. Just shows we need to pay attention when we have aches and pains...they are not all just signs of getting old. How scary for Wayne. WOW!
Comments: Last week it was noted here that Wayne Zablosky was in the hospital in Denton due to a appendicitis attack. Well it was a little more than that. We almost lost Wayne due to the fact that an abscess ruptured on his appendix causing the appendix to totally dis- intergrate and causing gangrene to set in and attacking the lower colon and pelvic area. He had said his stomach had been hurting for about 3 weeks and when he couldn't stand the pain had his son Kevin take him to the ER.At first they were going to wait until the following Monday but after getting test results back they took him into surgery right away. After the surgey was over, the Doctor said 1 more hour and he would have crossed over the big river!!!! He is doing much better now,and able to walk with a walker. Wayne is recuperating at our cousin's house in Rockwall, he said he would welcome any phone calls after I visited today with him. If you don't have his cell # contact me at this email address, which is my sister's and I will give it to you.
Comments: Martha, I don't want to cover up my LYNELL IS SWELL ! bumper sticker.
Comments: Let's get some bumper stickers made that say, "Let Us Help YOU Pack!".
Comments: Fantastic Video!
Comments: Charlotte: Great video
