Comments: Yes, Charlotte, that was the sound of a very happy tummy (yuk). Today one of the girl's at the office forced me to go to El Fenix for enchiladas. I am still full. I just LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE food. Sunday is my day for family coming to my house for New Year's Day. We will celebrate Christmas with Ashley since she was in Palestine this year. Michael and I will joint cook. Love those black eye peas. I thought they were suppose to bring you luck or money of something like that......all they give me is GOOD EATS.
Comments: Putting together jigsaw puzzles has been a holiday tradition for me since the early 70's. Randy's late sister, Jill, and I used to go to SunRexall Drug in Richardson and buy at least 2 before Christmas and then go back after Christmas for more. It was a family affair with everyone contributing at one time or another. So much fun. The hardest one we ever worked on was a solid red, round one. That's right folks. It took three days just to get the outside border. We worked on that thing off and on for six months until we finally finished it. Jill's been gone since 1982, but I think of her lovingly every time I open a new puzzle. Precious memories.
Comments: Re the jigsaw puzzle, I was 90% through with it, and I had covered it carefully with a huge cutting board. The cats ran across it and knocked everything onto the floor. You have to love animals to live with them.
Comments: Gee, I wish we had a Like button on this guestbook. Sharon and Phil, what great reports. I indulged in waaay too many goodies. The last jigsaw puzzle I attempted was when our cats were babies. My bad.
Comments: Christmas in the Big Apple with my 2 daughters who live there. Great time and weather was good. Saw 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo', with my youngest 26 years old.! NYC does it up right with decorations in Manhattan. Hope everyone's Christmas was blessed
Comments: We had a wonderful Christmas and, probably like everyone, ate way too much. As I left for work (ugh) this morning, Steve remarked that he had no idea what he was going to eat today since there wasn't anything in the house. Of course, he was being facetious. Our frige is overflowing with leftovers. Haven't baked anything sweet yet, but did manage to make a ton of sausage balls. I managed to read two books and watch some football at the same time. Started a jigsaw puzzle yesterday that may try my patience! Want to wish everyone a very Happy and Prosperous New Year.
Comments: Peaches, is that the sound of a Happy Christmas Tummy??? Me too! I did Pig Out this last weekend! Fun, Friends, Loved ones and FFF...food food food! I even made an apple pie to take to Christmas dinner....haven't baked a pie in years!!!!!!! It was good too...but then, it is hard to mess up an apple pie. That must be the easiest pie to make. Hope everyone is enjoying the Holidays!
Comments: oink. oink.
Comments: Wow, James, I am so impressed with your thoughtfulness and kindness. Loved the article! Thanks so much for sharing with us.
Comments: Way to go James!
Comments: Jean, thanks for letting us know about James's ponytail. I wouldn't recognize him without it! What a nice thing for him to do. Happy New Year to you! ![]()
Comments: From the Wylie Newspaper Dec 21, 2011: LOCAL MAN DONATES PONYTAIL TO CHARITY. Dec 13 Kat Smith of the Downtown Salon on Ballard in Wylie had a unique client. His name is James Anthony, and at age 67, he sported a blonde-and-gray ponytail that Willie Nelson might have envied. A 1963 graduate of South Oak Cliff High School in Dallas, Anthony said he has several friends who are surviving cancer and "this is something I can do to support them". His ponytail, measuring 14" was snipped and donated to the LOCKS OF LOVE organization that provides hairpieces to those who have had hair loss due to medical treatments such as chemotherapy. "The Christmas season makes you stop and realize how fortunate you are and how tough it can be for people facing hugh situations with their health and lives", he said.
Comments: Merry Christmas!

Comments: Merry Christmas Everyone! Best Wishes for a wonderful and prosperous 2012 full of love, health and happiness (and rain in Texas)!
Comments: Happy Birthday to Lonnie Harmon and Happy Holidays to everyone!
Comments: Merry Christmas, everyone! Hope you all have a safe and happy holiday season.
Comments: Joan and I want to wish all of you a safe and joyous Christmas and New Years. And congratulations to our Carroll Dragons on their 8th State Championship. I wonder if Craig James will get many Red Raider votes.
Comments: Saturday night, and we're home. Leftovers for dinner, along with some add-ons. The Cowboys are playing for David, and I have a bunch of magazines to catch up on. Life could not be better.
Comments: Oh, Lynell, you are soooooo right. Yuck isn't any where close to the class he's in. But I don't want to start the weekend on an ugly note, so Happy Weekend to everyone. If I thought I could actually sit through 10 hours of high school football games tomorrow (well, I could if I were at home!), I'd be going to Cowboys Stadium first thing. Down to the nitty-gritty for those teams. I believe there are four back-to-back championship games. Hope everyone is being nice since it's only nine days to Santa.
Comments: Sharon, not being a sports fan, I'd never heard of this guy. I googled him - yuck!
Comments: Is it not bad enough that Rick Perry wants to be President, but now, Craig James wants to be our Senator. I think I'm going to be very ill.
Comments: What a beautiful day in the neighborhood! The noisy, smelly, polluting dirt storage area with its dozens of trucks per day are GONE from the church property across from our house. Thank you, Noe Macias, City of Dallas! We live in a wonderful country where laws are obeyed and peace-loving citizens can get things done.
Comments: Okay..I'll give him credit for shooting the coyote.. One stole one of my cats in Austin...years back.. ![]()
Comments: Go easy on Perry. Remember, he did shoot a coyote while walking his dog. That's my kinda guy! It's a shame that the media has the power to make or break a candidate. Certain politicians make stupid remarks every day and it never makes the prime time news or the liberal newspapers. We all have been guilty of putting our foot in our mouth, just not in front of a camera.
Comments: Kathleen, I now refer to those Senior Moments...as my "Rick Perry" moments...
Comments: People, People...Do you mean....Oops Happens..? Oops as a stand-in for the (bad word) Happens..? Doesn't Ops or Opps refer to the 'thingies' that those Seals, Rangers, Delta Force..do? Like Black Ops..? You 'speaky a strange language'...! I've probably been watching too many of those shows... But, I can't figure out 'what' you are talking about...? Oops or Opps...that is the question..?
Comments: Charlotte, I am sure you are not alone with your "opps happens". Sometimes it is downright embarrassing to go blank or make obvious mistakes. Lately, I have been blaming it on my medications. At least, I am not on television in the middle of a debate making stupid mistakes like our illustrious governor. He would well appreciate your "opps happens" bumper sticker. p.s. Several people keep asking what is wrong with Governor Perry? He is making us (Texans) look stupid. |
