Joan and I want to wish all of you a safe and joyous Christmas and New Years.  And congratulations to our Carroll Dragons on their 8th State Championship.

I wonder if Craig James will get many Red Raider votes.

Saturday night, and we're home.  Leftovers for dinner, along with some add-ons.  The Cowboys are playing for David, and I have a bunch of magazines to catch up on.  Life could not be better.

Oh, Lynell, you are soooooo right.  Yuck isn't any where close to the class he's in.  But I don't want to start the weekend on an ugly note, so Happy Weekend to everyone.  If I thought I could actually sit through 10 hours of high school football games tomorrow (well, I could if I were at home!), I'd be going to Cowboys Stadium first thing.  Down to the nitty-gritty for those teams.  I believe there are four back-to-back championship games.  Hope everyone is being nice since it's only nine days to Santa.

Is it not bad enough that Rick Perry wants to be President, but now, Craig James wants to be our Senator.  I think I'm going to be very ill.

What a beautiful day in the neighborhood! The noisy, smelly, polluting dirt storage area with its dozens of trucks per day are GONE from the church property across from our house. Thank you, Noe Macias, City of Dallas!  We live in a wonderful country where laws are obeyed and peace-loving citizens can get things done.

Go easy on Perry.  Remember, he did shoot a coyote while walking his dog.  That's my kinda guy!

It's a shame that the media has the power to make or break a candidate.  Certain politicians make stupid remarks every day and it never makes the prime time news or the liberal newspapers.  We all have been guilty of putting our foot in our mouth, just not in front of a camera.

People, People...Do you mean....Oops Happens..?  Oops as a stand-in for the (bad word) Happens..? Doesn't Ops or Opps refer to the 'thingies' that those Seals, Rangers, Delta Force..do? Like Black Ops..? You 'speaky a strange language'...! I've probably been watching too many of those shows...  But, I can't figure out 'what' you are talking about...? Oops or Opps...that is the question..?

Charlotte, I am sure you are not alone with your "opps happens". Sometimes it is downright embarrassing to go blank or make obvious mistakes. Lately, I have been blaming it on my medications. At least, I am not on television in the middle of a debate making stupid mistakes like our illustrious governor. He would well appreciate your "opps happens" bumper sticker.
p.s. Several people keep asking what is wrong with Governor Perry? He is making us (Texans) look stupid.

Another Opps moment, I meant to say Skyline High School was filing an official complaint.

I saw on the news tonight that Skyline felt they were cheated out of their victory, because of a call the referee made the last two minutes of the game. They (SOC) plan to file an official complaint Monday. The replay film they were showing on the news did look like the referee might have made a mistake.

After having lunch at Ojeda's on Maple Avenue, along with Mr. Jerry Jones who was sitting a couple of booths over, my son and I went to the Carroll-Skyline game at SMU. On the way into the stadium, we saw a fox funning across the practice field that faces Mockingbird Lane. Not sure if it was the same fox, but what are the odds? Great game, especially for Carroll, but I have to tell you that the Skyline band stole the halftime show. They were fantastic! The Carroll band never had a chance after their announcer started their show by advising all in attendance that the Carroll band was going to "bust a move". Really? Wrong night for that routine.

What about those Southlake Carroll Dragons.  Down 10 points to the #3 team in the nation (Dallas Skyline) with only 1:50 left in 4rh Qtr.  Scored twice and won 28-24.   Paper said it had been 6 decades since a DISD team went to State.  Carroll plays for State at 4PM Sat.

Joan teaches 4th grade in Carroll district had has taught a lot of the current players.

When Carroll was scoring the winning touchdown, a black and gray fox was running across the field.  Picture was in Dallas paper.  He looked confused and was running the wrong way!

John, too bad you don't take the Dallas Morning News.  There is a big article on MMM in the Arts section.  I guess he's doing that Cowboy Christmas routine again.

I personally think that "icing" the kicker should not be allowed on any level of football.  Also, watched the Heisman show on Saturday night and was very glad that RGIII from Baylor won.  I actually watched several Baylor games this season just to watch him.  It sure helps when you have a QB that can do everything!

Time seem to go so slow when we were young. Now that we are all seniors and most all of us have grandchildren we wonder "Where did the time go? After seeing how many of our classmates have passed it made me so sad, It all seems to come to a full circle and when we get to the end, we hope people remember us with good thoughts and remember the good times. I have old friends that I have became completely out of touch which, some I really would like to be reunited with but cannot find.  Donna Kay Simmons was my best friend and lived right across the street from me, I have tried many times to locate her but she seems out of reach, she was a year behind me in school.  Jeannie Sublet has contacted me, and sent me a picutes, Jeannie is a beautiful person and done very well for herself. Although I did not graduate with you guys in 1963, I did have a beautiful baby boy, and ended up graduating from Christian day school. I always did want to come to the reunion but felt that would not have been right. I just want to say Merry Christmas to each and everyone of you and I hope each of you are doing well. May God Bless and keep you.

Charlotte, the little geocaching medal was awarded to the first 5 cachers to locate a series of 5 geocaches that were part of a puzzle called "Wii Love Music". The cache hider (Wii Rock) provided the medals as an incentive to go after her hidden caches. She is a music teacher, hence the theme.

I was the 2nd to find all five - was beat out by that evil ... I mean "energetic" 9 yr. old Cub Scout (Ryan). The medal has a microphone on it to go with the music concept.

My next adventure is to recruit two metal detecting volunteers to go search a ghost town southwest of Houston. Back around 1930 to 1959 it was the "company town" for a sulphur mining operation.

The place is Newgulf, TX. I have a super-duper "secret" map obtained from a man who lived there for 10 years when he was a lad. His father was the company pilot.

So far my recruits are showing some reluctance. I keep reminding them "It isn't tresspassing if nobody calls the police".
