Jack Morrision's surgery was very successful. He was in surgery from 7:30 am till 4:00 pm Tuesday. He was released Thursday at 10:30 am and is now home without pain and walking slowly. The mass was removed and the discs lined up. For those who complain about our healthcare, without it we would not have these wonderful success stories. Still pray for Darla and Jack during these next months of total recovery.

Arthurs, Chester Clinic, Glendale Shopping Center, Veterans Hospital, K&M Cookies, Crest Theatre, South Loop Drive-In, Penguin, Griffs, 1602 Hortense (home of GW Leverett), Glendale swimming pool, Thomas Hill, Sprague Field, P.C. Cobb Stadium, Lisbon Theatre, Spartans, A Harris Shopping Center, Wynnewood Village, Kips Big Boy, Saner & Beckley Gym, Zangs Bowl, Freds BBQ, Red Bryans, Oak Cliff Bank & Trust, Cedar Canyon Catering Club, Riverlake Country Club, and last but not least, Lisbon Elementary School - home to the world famous Lancaster Road Scholars. Thank all of you wonderful people for your prayers & concern.
I have been at the Hospital most of the time. My mother & Sister in law are recovering & will soon be moved to rehab facilities.
    Thanks to the Seat Belts, Reinforced Doors & Side Air Bags on the car, my mother & sister in law are both still alive...... with a hopeful full long time recovery. 
    The drunk driver hit the drivers' side door of my brother's car, at approximately 70 mph. My prayers are with my step brother, Bill Coplin 76, Thelma Coplin sister in law, Lura Green, my mother, 97 & the Driver of the other vehicle ( he was not injured).  Linda & I assisted my family until the Paramedics arrived.
   Again, Thank You All & Thank You, Lord, Jesus.   ( in all things, give thanks to the Lord)

We've been on twice a week watering restrictions in Southlake for about a month.  All we got yesterday was thunder and dust both at home and at work in Dallas.  I drove through heavy rain coming to work this morning on I635 between Coppell and Irving.  Still nothing at home or work.  It's sad to see all the trees and shrubs dying.  When I drive to Port O'Connor for the weekend, it's the same everywhere-everything is brown and most of the ponds and stock tanks are dried up.

Leave it to JS to try to add a little humor to the day.  It was nice to see something happy in the midst of all the sad news relating to our extended SOC family.  JS, do you have one on order?  How much is the helium?  It is a cute video-made me smile.

Prayers for the families of Ginger and Danny during these hard times.
On a little brighter note, just endured 30 minutes of thunder, lightening, and heavy rain. We just started twice a week water restrictions, so the timing was perfect. Me happy boy!

I love the sound of thunder!  I am praying for rain for Texas!  Our 2 ponds are gone now.  The pastures are all brown and have been all summer...we have to buy hay this year too.  Scary!  I hope this drought breaks soon.

Ginger, you are right.  We are not in charge.  I hope your mother is comfortable and content.  Betty is a saint!

Dorothy Hearn is better today and they're feeding her solid/pureed food.. She may improve enough to eventually go back to the nursing home, but we are certainly not in charge.... we just offer up our prayers for her.
