Comments: The Brockles dressing is very similar to what Kip's put on their lettuce wedges. And used to be available in jars in the grocery store.
Comments: Sharon, I can't remember Arthur's salad dressing, but this Brockles stuff is good. Next time I'll cut back on the garlic and take my chances with the vampires. I'm e-mailing you the recipe that I got off Facebook. Barry, you have interesting dreams.
Comments: Interesting. Watch to the end. http://www.angelfire.com/ak2/intelligencerreport/stethoscope.html
Comments: Bosko: This is a little scary and I hate to admit it, but you were in one of my dreams last night. I was on Harry Hines collecting pencils and ran into you on the street in front of your questionable "stereo shop". There were some signs on the walls that seemed to offer amusements other than a good sound. You said business was good. Quite obviously better than mine, since I was the one collecting pencils. And, you still looked just the same as in high school. Strange ![]()
Comments: Lynell: Did the Brockle's salad dressing taste similar to the one served at Arthur's? I can still remember wanting just a salad so I could have the dressing. It's been so long but I seem to recall that Arthur's dressing was a little garlicky! Well, I wasn't hungry but now I'm thinking chicken fried steak and yellow gravy with rolls and a house salad. Yum! If only Arthur's was still around.
Comments: Jud, I have to make use of that little spyglass on the lower right and blow stuff up 150% to read it. I don't know what happened in that last post of mine. Operator error, most likely. ![]()
Comments: Lynell, can you make that font smaller? I've got a super, electo-magnetic microscope I'm dying to try out.
Comments: I became so giddy from today's 1/4" rain that I made up a batch of Brockles Special Dressing. Remember that wonderful restaurant on Canton Street? My mother and aunts took me there for my 12th birthday, and I fell in love with their dressing. (And the busboy, but that's another story.) The homemade version is very good, so if you'd like a copy of the recipe, just e-mail me. I don't know what happened to the busboy, but I found the secret recipe on Facebook. If you know how many calories there are in mayonnaise and blue cheese, please keep that information to yourself.
Comments: RAIN? IN BIG D area???? WOW! ![]()
Comments: Phyllis, gotta love that Onion. They have the story right! However, the "Jane" story is slightly suspect -- but the picture is cute! I once had a letter read on a national radio show. They called me Lynn and referred to me as "this guy." sigh. ![]()
Comments: The Onion reports that the heat wave has been traced to radiation from a massive star in the center of our Solar System!
Comments: Just to confirm my Elvis obession is still alive and well..ck out my picture at www.wylienews.com Under my 'alias' JANE , I was interviewed about my collection. So I get my 15mins of fame and they spell my name wrong, funny huh? Also here's the website(video) of the tribute artist - www.theklone.com.
Comments: Peaches: About the time you posted your "prayer request" I received the below email from a friend. It's been around before but, I think it is so appropriate. Timing was perfect.
Hi Lord, its me again. We are getting older and things are getting bad here. Gas prices are too high, no jobs, and food and heating costs too high. I know some have taken you out of our schools, government and even Christmas, but Lord I'm asking you to come back and re-bless America. We really need you! There are more of us who want you than those who don't! Thank You Lord,
Comments: Pray for the United States of America!
Comments: Still hot in TX I see; down to 52 in Pittsburgh this morning.
Comments: Glad I'm not a financial guru!
Comments: Tylenol, anyone?
Comments: I am so glad to find out where all this "hot air" is coming from. Can we send it back????
Comments: Stay far, far away from all the hot air being generated in D.C.
Comments: That was weird. At least my emoticon showed up for my great idea about how to stay cool. You just position yourself under an AC vent and eat ice cream all day.

Comments: Oh good Barry! I was beginning to think this just might be a painting again! How is everyone (or anyone)staying cool in these brutal days?
Comments: Geo Johnny: Always thinking about food-at least it's relatively healthy food!
Comments: Jean, I thought "TCB" had something to do with a yogurt franchise?
