Comments: Is J. Anthony James or Jean??? Please sign your whole name. Thank you.
Comments: That Target House is in Midtown, in our same zipcode... I have 2 zipcodes, my PO and our 'Physical' address.. It's in the middle of a Catholic community, including the Catholic HS, and Senior Living, etc... I'll see what I can find out.. The police chief and son story..We've had similar things happen here, where the son was on trial for murder.. This scenario plays out in one form or another across the country.. We all have to be raised with the 'need' to seek 'Peace Within', to pass it on, generation after generation.. There's always another way of 'seeing things', and if you can begin to realize this, you will and 'they' will begin to seek out peaceable ways of resolving problems, rather than 'killing each other'... We can all have those thoughts but hopefully we will not all 'act' on them... Bye....Have to tell the story of the Loaves and Fishes in my one...Bible costume this morning... Namaste....all... Ginger ![]()
Comments: Bill - Donna needs to keep you better entertained. Dru is trying to keep John busy with taking care of her and the house work. I wouldn't want Donna to try the same thing but maybe she could pins in your chair you might get up quicker.. Hope you guys are doing well this summer and enjoying the kids. Take care
Comments: We received a letter from our church in yesterday with a simple request that is worth passing on.......Sorry, if this is the incorrect place to post this message. I do not personally know this family, but I mailed a card today....."Tristen Dasch, son of Rev. & Mrs. Bill Dasch of St. John in Mansfield, has had two bone marrow surgeries for his leukemia and is struggling to regain his health. Tristen will be 15 years old on July1st and this is a way we can lift his spirits by sending him a birthday card. Tristen is at St. Jude Hospital in Memphis, TN. You can send a birthday card to the following address: Tristen Dasch, Target House 1, Room 403, 1811 Poplar Avenue,Memphis, TN 38104" Thanks, Linda
Comments: Cynthia, you are right. At first, the local news -- going off half-baked -- stated the alleged shooter was the son of an assistant Chief of Police.
Comments: Very nicely said Lynell. I thought it was an assistant Chief's son so I am glad you clarified it. So sad. Heard the dad apolize to everyone on the channel 8 news tonight for what his son did. Named the families in particular and said he hoped they could join in their grief to find some peace. Rather touching solemn plead from someone that had no control of his adult son and works to protect citizens everyday from such violence. May those affected find peace in our Savior and forgiveness in their hearts for healing.
Comments: It's a sad day for Dallas and its Chief of Police, David Brown, a SOC '79 grad who has served as a fine officer with the department for many years, and who was promoted from within the DPD to Chief. On Fathers Day, his son and namesake apparently blew away an innocent man who was a father, and a police officer who was called to a domestic disturbance at their apartment in Lancaster. The deceased officer, like the innocent guy who unfortunately drove home past the alleged murderer's apartment, was also a father whose job was to protect us civilians from criminals. The heart of Chief Brown has to be irreparably broken. The Chief's son had only a minor record with the law. My hope is that the alleged murderer wasn't given passes because his dad was a police officer. If so, shame on the DPD. Meanwhile, I shed tears for Chief Brown and for the citizens of Dallas and Lancaster, and for the families of all three deceased.
Comments: Sharon, of course I was kidding about "The Good Guys" being reality TV. I hear it is actually filmed in Dallas. I managed to sit through about half of last night's episode and was kind of saddened when they were talking about meth labs in "south Dallas". The best part of the episode was that Chinese translator guy who was doing his best to get out alive. Very campy script.
Comments: Please Jud. I'm trying to calculate if the distance from the bridge on I-45 at Exit 252 is more or less than if I climb my chimney. I've spent the day under a nice house I have on the market (for only $159,000) in Garland trying to diagnose a problem, and this is what I return to. I'm tempted, before I jump, to either (1) make a comment about a squirrel and a Mitsubishi Mirage, as mentioned in an earlier post, or (2) reply to Barry's political post quickly and hope no one realizes it, or disguise my answer as pet trivia.
Comments: That loud cacophony of thumping noises I'm hearing...is that you Barry and Sam, rhythmically crashing your heads into the wall?
Comments: JS, where did you ever get the idea that "The Good Guys" was "reality"? I know you're kidding. It is a great spoof and I love trying to identify what part of town they're in. That Bradley guy is the ultimate sleaze and Colin Hanks has so many of his father's nuances. It's just fun. I've got high hopes for Memphis, too. At least it's not reruns. I watched the finale of "Saving Grace" last night and realized I'd missed too many episodes this season to know what was going on, so I guess I'll try to catch those reruns.
Comments: Cyndi Lauper has a new CD called Memphis Blues. What a voice she has. Who knew she could sing da blues like that? I heard her on the radio this morning.
Comments: Yep and I'm a 'Nanny' tonight... Jessa is my Tuesday night gig for a while.. Will miss NCIS, also, but it is probably reruns, anyway.. I do hope they are using Elvis' "In The Ghetto" as their theme song... It would only be appropriate... John, I've already told you my opinion of the 'Earl Guy'..If they had the 'Earl Guy' and a 'Pants On the Ground' person as his 'sidekick', they would truly have 'Memphis'. I would have to tease my long hair into Big Hair and speak with a little more 'southern twang' in my voice..to be 'Memphis'.. I could do it..!Jessa's dad is the son of Tony Ellis, who did play with Bill Monroe and The Smoky Mountain Boys... Jessa's dad is known, professionally as William Lee Ellis, in the world of music...Jessa's mom is in the world of Social Work and works for the county mayor's office... I could see them using daddy Ellis' music... **I've got to put my new YOGA Bumper Sticker on my car today...Namaste...All Love...Yinyer ![]()
Comments: Hey Yinyer, Tonight is the TV premier of "Memphis Beat". At last we will get to see the REAL Memphis, the streets and characters YOU interact with every day. If the star of the show looks vaguely familiar, it is the same guy who played in "My Name is Earl", except he shed the moustache. See if you can land a bit part in the background, then throw us a quick wave and a wink. I hope Memphis Beat is every bit as realistic and convincing as "The Good Guys" (that new Dallas-based "reality" cop show).
Comments: A Squirrel had the 'Nerve' to run in front of my Mitsubishi Mirage, in Midtown Memphis, yesterday..It also made a 'Flying Leap' before getting out of the Pathway of my car..! Is that Arrogance in a Squirrel or What...!!!
Comments: Charlotte: I always have a problem with times and dates. Buddy is doing very well-almost back to her old self. Johnny will probably delete this post, but I'm not creating a BLOG.
Comments: B e r r y.....AHEM! I repeat this is not noon to 3 on Sat.....sheesh...you just can't resist can you? Go creat a political blog of your own, give us the address and then have at it on your very own blog!!! I'm sure several of us will join you over there. Now, I do protest those rules about animals!!! I want to read about Buddy and I might want to post about my 22 year old quarter horse, Dandyote. OR my barn kitties!!! Let's form a Union and protest together! Haaaaaaa! :0) Sorry for any SP errors...can't do spell chk from Black Berry, Barry..sorry couldn't resist!
Comments: Charlotte will 'get you' Barry...! Robert Badgett is married to a 'Randi', and I have it from another friend in Costa Rica, that Randi is a wonderful person....!
Comments: Since Johnny has been given control of the site and he does not allow the discussion of squirrels, that pretty much does it for me. I have discussed our squirrel, Buddy, on several occasions and that's not allowed any more. We also have some political squirrels on the site and that is a double no no. So, I guess I have been censored off the site. It still ceases to amaze me that someone of average or above average intelligence can buy into any of the Obama "changes". An example of the stupidity of his actions was in evidence yesterday. This guy that he has hand picked to dole out the $20B that was illegally obtained from BP was asked if people should go ahead and submit claims even though the are no set guidelines. His stupid answer was that if a restaurant in Boston was unable to buy Gulf shrimp and had lost business because of it, they could file a claim. If such a claim was allowed under Massachusetts law, then they would be able to collect. Have you ever heard anything so absurd? Very little of this money will actually go to those that have really been affected.
Comments: I'm trying to find out who...?...Robert Badgett is married to....now.. It says on FB that he is married and he does live in Costa Rica...
Comments: Didn't Charlotte, I explained myself... Quit it..! I asked a question... Meowr (with a growl)... (for Charlotte)
Comments: Uh oh...don't think it is Saturday noon-3 PM...so don't go there! MEOW! ![]()
Comments: Sam, tell your son the DAR thanks him...Probably the SAR and DRT and the SRT,too. I've got the papers for the DRT, but haven't started the process, as yet.. (Daughters of the Republic of Texas..) If it's an S..it's Sons, but you-all could figure that out, can't you...? Now that's Heritage as in Preserving 'history stuff', right..? It's not that 'fundamentalist' type organization that is a national thingy...? Just asking... Don't anybody get their dander up...! I bet Ennis has a DAR and a SAR...chapter.. **I'm the Chaplain for our DAR chapter 2010-2011.. I don't have to preach or be ordained...Thank Goodness... Sam could preach, however..! ![]()
Comments: Byline on the front page of Sunday's Ennis Daily News read "Tenpenny Takes Reins". And Ginger's saying, "It can't be!" Don't panic. My son, Zack was installed as the new president of the Ennis Heritage Society last Thursday. We're very proud of him.
Comments: Good Morning, John.. Our 3 cats, Skitty, Squeaky, and Bastet, and our dog, Little Bear, who is now Middle-sized Bear, growing to Big Bear, have had breakfast and Skitty(rightfully named) is being chased by Bear...! It's Meowrr, Meowrr, Meowrr..(growl included). I do agree...Kosher is for Saturday...![]() **I also have to announce that MMM added me as a FB friend..! Of course, he also added John Denver and Hank Williams.. so it may be meaningless...or MMM could be the real Ghost Whisperer...without Jennifer Love Hewitt's body..! ![]() ![]() Happy Tuesday...All Bill, I have never used the 'tongy' smiley or frowny...as the case may be..It's quite interesting...all blown up...! ![]() (There's no 'cowboy' smiley on here..like on my email...How Rude..! )
Comments: My flower beds have NO weeds. I make sure Donna takes care of those asap!
Comments: Kathleen, yes Lena is kin to Jerry and Kay Franklin, they are first cousins. Lena's brother was name Bill, she had an older sister Joann and my best friend Sherry was the baby girl in the family. Lena is still beautiful John, I saw her at Sherry's funeral a few years back.
Comments: Is that James or Jean?? Thanks.
Comments: Johnny - you and Bill have too much Idle time on your hands. I think you both need to go out and pull some weeds in the flower beds..
Comments: The only real rule is to sign your name/so everyone knows who to blame. Hey, I made a poem. John-John, you must schedule a time for Cat and Squirrel talk. Meow, meow, meow, meow, meow. |
