Lynelle:  If you want to fly something right by me, use that yellow background.  I was afraid I wouldn't pass my Coast Guard Captain's test a couple of summers ago because of that "yellow" thing. Yellow highlighter?  Forget it.  Luckily not too many lights are yellow, so I squeaked by.

We're headed to the Texas Coast early Sunday morning for Spring Break.  And we will have a good time in spite of the weather,  The forecast looks good as of today, but things can change.  Wish us well.  Who knows, maybe we can bring some fish back for May 1st.

I don't know who EV is...?? I'm trying to recover from going to the George Strait, Reba McIntyre, Lee Ann Womack Concert, last week..!! All that 'loud' music is still rolling around in my head..!!

Sam(my,) I love Marc Cohn and play one of his CDs in my car all the time.  I like other stuff better than his big hit.  Do I win something for knowing who he married and not blabbing?  Hint:  Her initials are EV.

Well Ginger, humor doesn't work.  I can't even get Cousin Johnny to respond to a swim suit post....or anyone else for that matter.  If it's 74 in Memphis, you should be walking, with your feet ten feet off Beale.....looking for Elvis, whom my wife thinks is hiding out in Kansas City (I'd hide out in Cancun or Cozumel).  Sorta reminds me of a song.  Trivia question, who's the songwriter Marc Cohn married to (without googling)?

thanks, Bill.  The eagles have had a tough nesting season, but this is how they became our national bird.

To my fellow Lancaster  Road scholars, is the Richard Smith, investment advisor, our own Dickie Smith?  How can we find out?

Yes Lynell, I check in on the eagles several times a day. As we speak (5:38 p.m.) there is only one of the eagles in the nest.

For the rest of you, EagleCam is a very cool site. It's a live cam of a bald eagle nest just outside Washington D.C.

Bill, are you watching the eagles this year?  You got me hooked on these birds last spring.  They're sitting on one egg, due March 21.

Beautiful day here in Big D.  I just hope next week is nice at the Texas Coast so we can go fishing.  Planning a week at scenic Port O'Connor, TX and it is no fun when the wind is blowing and it's raining.  Staying at a friend's house on the beach, so we can at least chill out.  Clear water, white sand, gentle waves and a gentle breeze off the Gulf.  That would not be Port O'Connor.  Stained water, brown sand/mud, crashing waves and a 30mph wind out of the east is more like it. "Beach" is on the west shore of Matagorda Bay.

I don't put any stock in global warming.  The climate is constantly changing and I doubt that mankind has anything to do with it.  Even the "experts" can't agree on it anymore.  They have altered the data to show what they wanted to show.  I don't think the good Lord would have put us here with the abilities He has given us just so we could destroy the planet.  We've had wet years, dry years, El Nino, La Nina, etc in our lifetime and I'm sure that will not change.  One thing that does bother me in the short term is the water table.  Most of Texas is running out of water and if the population continues to grow in places that do not have a reliable water supply, we are in trouble.  Some towns west of the Metroplex are already in big trouble.  We have been in a drought for several years and now it's time for it to rain and replenish the water supply.  But, I sure hate these dreary days.........................

Barry, I read somewhere that weather patterns were changing due to global warming. Some areas are going to turn into a desert and some areas are going to become wetter. If this is true, we have a big mess in store for us. Also the winters are supposed to become colder and the summers hotter.

Dodi, I don't know if this will help, but there is also a Jerry Melton on Facebook, who seems to have a lot of friends in the SOC '62 class. He might be related to Sharon Melton.
It looks like another rainy day here. I can't wait for the bluebonnets and spring.

Dodi, our Pamela Melton is on Face Book.  She is now Pamela Wilks Caraway married to George.  She says they live in Dallas.  Her email is on Face Book so I am sure she won't mind our editor giving it to you for your search.

Uh Oh, where did that sun go?  sooooooooooo dreary!  There is hope tho.  some of the trees are budding out now....but, of course, not the Pecans..........they are the first to loose their leaves and the last to bud out in the spring.  I have checked the growth of our blue bonnets and they are coming on strong now...I guess it will be April before we see blankets of them down here in the Brenham area.  Hope it is a good year for them....they are not too crazy about wet feet.  That is why we see them on hill sides etc.

Dodi, I looked through my e-mail addresses and even used my special secret powers to go through the old address book that's linked to this website.  No luck on finding any Melton e-mail info.  You might try Peaches.  She has all sorts of info.

I'd love to hear what it was like to have our Danny as your little brother.  I know you could tell some tales!

Dodi, why don't you email our editor, Lynell,  (email address beside her posts) and give her your email.  Then you don't have to publish your address to the world.  You may be looking for Pamela Melton from our class.  This way we don't have to publish anyone's info on the Guest Book.  Good luck!

I'm Danny Green's older but wiser sister & haven't been to this website in quite a long time.  Our class of '60 is having our 50th reunion in Oct. & one of the classmates we've lost is Sharon Melton.  Although we didn't run around together much, she was always one of my favorite people in high school.  I know she had a cousin (also a Melton) who graduated in '61 & younger sisters who graduated sometime around '63 or later.  Can anyone help us locate any of her family members so we can get Sharon's address?  If you can help, please post here.  I'm reluctant to give an e-mail address here for fear it will go around the wide world of the internet & we'll get requests from Nirobi for help in obtaining a long lost fortune.  All they need is your bank acct. no., etc.  I'm sure you know the drill.  So I'll check here on a regular basis to see if anyone knows Sharon's whereabouts & will really appreciate the help.  Thanks so much, Dolores Green Long (SOC 60)

It was a kinder, gentler time..It will probably take several more generations to evolve into a more stable time.....but then...it might not.. One of my son's favorite movies is
"Blade Runner". The future is not a kinder, more gentle time according to that screen writer.. We won't be here then.. I'm just curious to know what 2012 will bring according to Mayan..'stuff'.. The economic problems we have and are experiencing was predicted, but who knows what will happen.. No end of the world..Just change.
For the better, well....we'll see.
Good Luck with the puppy..Char. We had a 3 month old puppy adopt us during the ice and snow.. My son is good about training him and he's been to the vet, once. It's been a welcome experience after losing his Siberian Husky, 15 yrs old, on Christmas Day....
